Entwicklung einer Kochbuch-App für Android-Smartphones

In dieser Arbeit wird beschrieben, was Andoid ist, welche Bestandteile es hat und wie man diese einsetzen kann. Dies wird speziell am Beispiel einer Rezeptbuch-App verdeutlicht. Dabei wird speziell auf die Bedürfnisse veganer Menschen eingegangen. Nach der Einleitung werden in Abschnitt 3 die Grundlagen in Bezug auf Android erläutert. Es wird auf die Entstehung sowie die Verbreitung von Android als Plattform eingegangen. Es wird dabei auf Bestandteile der Benutzeroberflächen sowie auf interne Elemente eingegangen. Im darauf folgenden Abschnitt wird ein Konzept für die Rezeptbuch-App entwickelt. Dabei wird auf alle hauptsächlichen Abschnitte der App eingegangen. Im Abschnitt der Realisierung wird dann an praktischen Beispielen gwzwigt, wie eine App mithilfe der von Android gelieferten Komponenten erzeugt werden kann.

No experimental evidence that sibling competition induces young to switch nests in the colonial Alpine swift, Apus melba

Adoption is frequent in colonial animals where opportunities for dependent young to receive care from nonbiological parents are high. The departure of dependent young from their original family to seek adoption in neighbouring families is thought to be induced by sibling competition for access to limited resources provided by poor-quality parents. We tested this hypothesis in the colonial Alpine swift by manipulating the number of young reared per brood, with the prediction that offspring from enlarged broods switch nests more frequently than those from reduced broods. Although nestling swifts hatch with little locomotor activity, from 20 days until their first flight at 50-70 days they frequently move out of their nests to seek adoption in neighbouring families. Although nestlings reared in experimentally enlarged broods were lighter and their body mass at day 20 after hatching was more variable than in nestlings reared in reduced broods, there was no difference between the two treatments in the frequency of nests switching and in the age when nestlings switched nests for the first time. However, consistent with other evidence that nest switching by nestling swifts evolved as a strategy to reduce ectoparasite load, young from broods with naturally high numbers of the ectoparasitic louse fly Crataerina melbae were more prone to switch nests. This shows that ectoparasitism rather than sibling competition is a key proximate factor promoting the evolution of nest switching in the colonial Alpine swift. Mutation screening of patients with Alzheimer disease identifies APP locus duplication in a Swedish patient.

BACKGROUND: Missense mutations in three different genes encoding amyloid-β precursor protein, presenilin 1 and presenilin 2 are recognized to cause familial early-onset Alzheimer disease. Also duplications of the amyloid precursor protein gene have been shown to cause the disease. At the Dept. of Geriatric Medicine, Karolinska University Hospital, Sweden, patients are referred for mutation screening for the identification of nucleotide variations and for determining copy-number of the APP locus. METHODS: We combined the method of microsatellite marker genotyping with a quantitative real-time PCR analysis to detect duplications in patients with Alzheimer disease. RESULTS: In 22 DNA samples from individuals diagnosed with clinical Alzheimer disease, we identified one patient carrying a duplication on chromosome 21 which included the APP locus. Further mapping of the chromosomal region by array-comparative genome hybridization showed that the duplication spanned a maximal region of 1.09 Mb. CONCLUSIONS: This is the first report of an APP duplication in a Swedish Alzheimer patient and describes the use of quantitative real-time PCR as a tool for determining copy-number of the APP locus.

A més, poder treballar en l'àrea que ocupa (disseny d'aplicacions per iOS), ha estat la millor oportunitat per intentar crear una eina de qualitat per aquelles persones que, essent usuaris de dispositius mòbils d'Apple (iPhone, iPod, iPad), i estant lligats (d'una manera o altre) al món de la química, vulguin tenir a la seva disposició una aplicació que els ajudi a resoldre petits problemes lligats a aquesta disciplina científica.

Selection on age at first and at last reproduction in the long-lived Alpine Swift Apus melba

The way an organism spreads its reproduction over time is defined as a life-history trait, and selection is expected to favour life-history traits associated with the highest fitness return. We use a long-term dataset of 277 life histories to investigate the shape and strength of selection acting on the age at first reproduction and at last reproduction in the long-lived Alpine Swift. Both traits were under strong directional selection, but in opposite directions, with selection favouring birds starting their reproductive career early and being able to reproduce for longer. There was also evidence for stabilising selection acting on both traits, suggesting that individuals should nonetheless refrain from reproducing in their first 2 years of life (i.e. when inexperienced), and that reproducing after 7 years of age had little effect on lifetime fitness, probably due to senescence.

L'objectiu d'aquest article és crear un marc teòric i analític per a investigar els efectes dels nous canals d'interacció basats en la tecnologia entre els governs i els ciutadans en l'estructura organitzativa i les dinàmiques de les administracions públiques i, finalment, en el lliurament de serveis. També assenyala possibles enfocaments metodològics que podrien resultar útils en la recerca futura sobre aquest tema.

Aquest estudi té com a objectiu principal analitzar les transformacions que s'esdevenen al voltant de la incorporació d'innovacions tecnològiques de l'entorn de les TIC en els processos d'atenció al ciutadà per part de les administracions públiques. Les transformacions que hem analitzat tenen a veure amb tres dimensions que hem considerat bàsiques. D'una banda, ens hem centrat en els canvis que es produeixen en la forma en què els ciutadans (com a principals, tot i que no únics, usuaris) i l'administració es relacionen entre sí. De l'altra hem analitzat les transformacions que s'esdevenen en el funcionament intern i en la pròpia organització de l'administració arran de les transformacions dels canals de comunicació amb els usuaris. Per últim, hem considerat els canvis en la forma de gestionar (dissenyar, planificar, organitzar i dur a terme) el canvi i la innovació, tenint en compte especialment els rols dels diferents actors (no només públics) que hi participen. La recerca es recolza en un ampli estudi empíric sobre la Generalitat de Catalunya i en un estudi compartiu internacional sobre el Quebec, Emillia-Romagna i Escòcia.

El objetivo de este trabajo es desarrollar una aplicación web que sirva de gestión de los aparatos conectados a la centralita Asterisk y generar los ficheros de configuración, tanto para los terminales como para el correcto funcionamiento de la centralita. Además, se instalará un servidor que conecte centralita y Google Apps para que los usuarios puedan usar el videochat de Gmail como softphone, permitiéndoles enviar y recibir llamadas a través de la centralita de la universidad en cualquier parte del mundo.
