Présentation du Colloque international de Belfast du 30 août au 1er septembre 2007 « André Malraux et les valeurs spirituelles du XXIe siècle »

The article presented to Malraux specialists the conclusions and findings of the international conference on André Malraux held at Queen's University Belfast in 2007.

Energy levels, radiative rates and electron impact excitation rates for transitions in He-like Cl XVI, K XVIII, Ca XIX and Sc XX.

We report calculations of energy levels, radiative rates and electron impact excitation cross
sections and rates for transitions in He-like Cl XVI, K XVIII, Ca XIX and Sc XX. The grasp
(general-purpose relativistic atomic structure package) is adopted for calculating energy levels
and radiative rates. To determine the collision strengths and subsequently the excitation rates,
the Dirac atomic R-matrix code (darc) is used. Oscillator strengths, radiative rates and line
strengths are reported for all E1, E2, M1 and M2 transitions among the lowest 49 levels of
each ion. Collision strengths are averaged over a Maxwellian velocity distribution and the
effective collision strengths obtained listed over a wide temperature range up to 107.4 K.
Comparisons are made with similar data obtained from the flexible atomic code (fac) to
highlight the importance of resonances, included in calculations with darc, in the
determination of effective collision strengths. Discrepancies between the collision strengths
from darc and fac, particularly for forbidden transitions, are also discussed. Additionally,
theoretical lifetimes are listed for all the 49 levels of the above four ions.

Penser la guerre au XXIe siècle

Ce numéro était déjà sous presse quand, le 13 novembre 2015, Paris était une nouvelle fois la cible d’attentats terroristes d’une ampleur sans précédent, faisant plus d’une centaine de morts. Le Président François Hollande parla cette fois, de manière répétée, d’‘un acte de guerre’. Des voix solidaires se sont élevées des quatre coins de la planète, soulignant bien que, à travers la France, ce sont bien les valeurs qu’elle représente et qu’elle partage avec nombre de pays que les assassins de Daech visaient. Parmi tous les messages de solidarité, il nous semble important de souligner celui d’Hassan Rohani, le Président iranien, et celui d’Abdelaziz Bouteflika, le Président algérien: immédiatement, le premier ‘condamn[ait] avec vigueur ces crimes contre l'humanité et présent[ait] [s]es condoléance au peuple français endeuillé et au gouvernement’; le second dénonçait sans réserve ‘cette horreur planifiée [qui] constitue un véritable crime contre l'humanité’. Quant à Anouar Kbibech, le nouveau président du Conseil français du culte musulman, il ‘condamn[ait] avec la plus grande vigueur ces attaques inqualifiables’ et ‘appel[ait] à se regrouper autour de ces valeurs qui font la France’. Plus que jamais, il faut éviter les amalgames pour ne pas faire le jeu des minorités extrémistes.

We report calculations of energy levels, radiative rates and electron impact excitation cross sections and rates for transitions in Be-like Ti XIX. The general-purpose relativistic atomic structure package is adopted for calculating energy levels and radiative rates. For determining the collision strengths and subsequently the excitation rates, the Dirac atomic R-matrix code (darc) is used. Oscillator strengths, radiative rates and line strengths are reported for all E1, E2, M1 and M2 transitions among the lowest 98 levels of the n≤ 4 configurations. Additionally, theoretical lifetimes are listed for all 98 levels. Collision strengths are averaged over a Maxwellian velocity distribution and the effective collision strengths obtained listed over a wide temperature range up to 10 ^7.7K. Comparisons are made with similar data obtained from the flexible atomic code (fac) to highlight the importance of resonances, included in calculations with darc, in the determination of effective collision strengths. Discrepancies between the collision strengths from darc and fac, particularly for forbidden transitions, are also discussed. 

O que o estado português quis conservar: a avaliação e aquisição de documentos de arquivo em Portugal nos séculos XIX e XX

Esta dissertação procura identificar os desígnios que orientaram as decisões do Estado português em relação à aquisição de documentos de arquivo, com o objectivo de verificar se esses desígnios se formalizaram numa política de avaliação e aquisição de documentos de arquivo coerente e sistemática. A análise incidiu no Arquivo Nacional e nos arquivos distritais durante o período cronológico que abrange o século XIX e a primeira metade do século XX. Partindo da discussão teórica presente nos discursos de arquivistas e investigadores, da evolução das práticas no Arquivo Nacional e das incorporações realizadas nos arquivos distritais, esta tese defende que existiu uma visão constitutiva dos arquivos enquanto repositórios documentais da memória da nação. No entanto, esta visão não se concretizou numa política arquivística articulada e estrutural; ABSTRACT:This dissertation aims to identify portuguese state’s goals that guided its intervention on acquisition of archival records. Our purpose is to verify if those goals meant a coherent and systematic appraisal and acquisition policy. Our analysis took as object Portugal’s national and regional archives from nineteenth to twentieth century’s first half. Beginning from theoretical discussion that can be seen on archivists and investigators speeches, National Archive’s practices and acquisitions occurred in regional archives, this thesis sustains that there was a vision on the archives as national memory documental repositories. However, this vision was not translated on an articulated and structured archival policy.

Représentations de lecture(s) dans l'oeuvre daudétienne

O século XIX testemunhou uma produção literária inegualável, registando vidas e obras de autores, títulos de obras, jornais e revistas. Em tempos de algum individualismo estético-cultural em que cada obra lida parece, ao leitor contemporâneo, a única obra do mercado literário sem qualquer referência a outros autores, e em que o Governo implementa medidas para incentivar comportamentos de leitura, verificamos que o século XIX, além de muitas obras ter produzido, também divulgou muitos autores e suas obras, revelando respeito pela obra literária e testemunhando hábitos de leitura. O estudo da obra de Alphonse Daudet permitirnos- á constatar que os homens de letras liam as obras uns dos outros; que escreviam sobre as obras e partilhavam espaços de criação e produção literárias. A escrita e a leitura, actividades largamente referenciadas em todos os géneros literários adoptados por Daudet, reflectem um lugar comum da sua produção literária como também evidenciam um modus vivendi.
