An Evaluation of “Cancer Services in Ireland: A National Strategy 1996″ This report presents the outcome of a comprehensive study that evaluated the extent to which the objectives and actions of the 1996 National Cancer Strategy were achieved. The evaluation was commissioned by the Department of Health and Children on behalf of the National Cancer Forum. Experimental models of Schistosoma mansoni infections in mammals have contributed greatly to our understanding of the pathology and pathogenesis of infection. We consider here hepatic and extrahepatic disease in models of acute and chronic infection. Experimental schistosome infections have also contributed more broadly to our understanding of granulomatous inflammation and our understanding of Th1 versus Th2 related inflammation and particularly to Th2-mediated fibrosis of the liver.

The National Implementation Framework describes how the recommendations from the Value for Money (VFM) and Policy Review of the Disability Services Programme will be translated into concrete actions. It assigns responsibilities for those actions, and specifies timelines for their completion. It also identifies priorities and key performance indicators.
