En este trabajo recogemos las principales pautas y metodologÃa seguida para la elaboración de la GuÃa de Estudio de parte de los contenidos del segundo cuatrimestre de la asignatura de CitologÃa e HistologÃa Animal y Vegetal de los estudios de BiologÃa. En dicha guÃa se recoge el desarrollo de las actividades docentes que han sido llevadas a cabo utilizando la plataforma informática Campos Virtual de la Universidad de Alicante. Se trata del ensayo de una nueva manera de abordar el proceso de enseñanza/aprendizaje de nuestros alumnos, tendente a la adaptación de los contenidos de HistologÃa al Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES). El método empleado ha sido introducir a nuestros alumnos a ser los artÃfices de su propia formación, mediante la realización tanto de tareas de autoaprendizaje como la exposición de sus resultados al resto de sus compañeros en una serie de seminarios. La metodologÃa empleada se expone en cada uno de los apartados de esta guÃa.

En la primera parte del artÃculo se aborda el problema que ha de afrontar el estadista Antonio Maura al convertirse en el jefe del gobierno español, a finales de 1903 y consistente en concluir el proceso de negociación sobre Marruecos entablado con Francia desde 1901. Se resalta el carácter continuista del ideario colonial de Maura con respecto al del anterior lÃder conservador, Silvela, y la preponderancia de cuestiones como la seguridad nacional como motivadoras de dicho ideario. En la segunda parte, se explica la apelación del gobierno maurista a una ayuda por parte de Alemania, en función de movimientos previos de la diplomacia germana que se habÃa interesado por controlar una parte del Marruecos español, o por conseguir compensaciones en Fernando Po. Finalmente se analiza el intento de BerlÃn de instrumentalizar al gobierno Maura en el curso de las conversaciones hispano-francesas sobre el Imperio jerifiano.

En estos Paseos de Arquitectura, se invita al lector a recorrer Albacete, reconociendo y admirando sus mejores edificios, dignos algunos de una gran Ciudad. Hubo más, desde luego. Deplorar, sin embargo, su demolición no es el propósito de este libro. Los que permanecen son glorias suficientes para dar testimonio de una Arquitectura espléndida y del talento de unos arquitectos (Ramón Casas Massó, Francisco Manuel MartÃnez Villena, Daniel Rubio, Julio Carrilero, Miguel Ortiz e Iribas, Buenaventura Ferrando Castells y otros) que, en su dÃa, creyeron en esta Ciudad y la adornaron con las mejores galas de su oficio, adelantándose incluso a su desarrollo urbano. Como sucede en empresas de empuje reciente, los emblemas se anticiparon a las fábricas. Los itinerarios que trazan sus trece capÃtulos siguen el hilo de la historia, sin someterse completamente a ella. Arquitectos y lugares nos distraerán a veces del estricto rigor cronológico. Pero es al lector curioso a quien concierne en definitiva organizar sus itinerarios propios, accediendo al libro por donde más le convenga y recorriéndolo, de corrido o a trechos, como a la Ciudad que describe, a su libre arbitrio. Acaso descubra (y serÃa la mejor alabanza de lo escrito) presencias y detalles de Arquitectura, cuya familiaridad hace que nos pasen desapercibidos y que pueden, no obstante, sorprendernos todavÃa por su nobleza y hermosura. El aprecio de arquitecturas que a diario nos rodean puede llegar a sernos tarea en verdad amena y gustosa.

El perÃodo que se abarca se extiende, cronológicamente, a lo largo del primer tercio del siglo XX (1898-1936) y el espacio objeto de estudio se circunscribe a la ciudad de Albacete. El discurso se articula en dos partes: la primera se ocupa de la arquitectura, clasificada por sus tipologÃas (religiosa, funeraria, asistencial, educativa, institucional, penitenciaria y militar, del ocio, del negocio y residencial), y la segunda se centra en las caracterÃsticas de los principales arquitectos que intervinieron en esta época en la ciudad (Julio Carrilero Prat, Ramón Casas Massó, Francisco Fernández Molina, Buenaventura Ferrando Castells, Francisco Manuel MartÃnez Villena, AgustÃn Morcillo López, Manuel Muñoz Casayús, Miguel Ortiz e Iribas y Daniel Rubio Sánchez).
