Letter written by Napoleon Buonaparte (Bonaparte) to Guillaume Thomas Francois Raynal, June 24, 1790

Translation: Sir, It will probably be difficult for you to remember among the many strangers who annoy you with their admiration of a person to whom you kindly made civilities last year1 during a pleasant conversation about Corsica. In the first years of Napoleon Bonaparte (1840) , Coston gives a rough version of this letter that it dates from 1786 , which is impossible because Raynal did not return to France that ' in 1787. Nestor lima e a modernização conservadora da gestão educacional no Rio Grande do Norte entre 1924-1928

This study attempts to investigate the school administration in the Department of Education of Rio Grande de Norte, in the period 1924 to 1928, in the context of conservative modernization in its management, implemented by Nestor Lima dos Santos. Addresses the trends of administrative Nestor Santos Lima and sequence of these variables so that we can correlate and monitor the development of various economic, social, cultural and political, to show how influenced and even determined the direction of education, not only the state of RN, but throughout the country. For this purpose, it is the recapitulation of the history of life, experiences of work and travel reports of this important figure, including administrative concepts, aiming to identify the school administration, introduced by him in the 1920s, as those who received influence of characters that included the social and historical context of the time, reconstituting the ways following the education. It was developed by Nestor shares in Lima on the administration of public schools, their way of management, and can see how was the process of modernization of education in Rio Grande do Norte state and how it followed the rapid changes, experienced by Brazil, during this period. "Sleeping Princess" (1921) e "Baiser de la Fée" (1928): lesina e punteruolo di Stravinskij sulle musiche di Čajkovskij.

Igor Stravinskij (1882-1971) utilizzò di sovente fonti preesistenti come parte integrante del proprio artigianato compositivo. In questa tesi dottorale ho studiato il processo creativo di Stravinskij negli anni Venti sulle musiche di Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij (1840-1893). Nella prima parte della dissertazione ho indagato la Sleeping Princess (1921) e il successivo Mariage d’Aurore (1922-1929), entrambi allestiti dai Ballets russes di Sergej Djagilev (1872-1929). Dopo aver localizzato e contestualizzato le fonti manoscritte e i materiali d’uso, ho ricostruito le ri-orchestrazioni effettuate da Stravinskij della Danse russe (Coda del Pas de deux n. 28) e del Presto del Finale (n. 30), che erano a tutt’oggi inedite. La ricerca sulla Sleeping Princess si è rivelata fondamentale per la conseguente analisi del Baiser de la Fée (1928, Ballets de Mme Ida Rubinstein), balletto basato su pezzi pianistici e romanze per voce e pianoforte di Čajkovskij. Grazie allo studio dello Skizzenbuch VIII, della partitura pianistica manoscritta e di tutte le fonti rinvenute, ho gettato ulteriore luce sul processo compositivo di Stravinskij sulle fonti čajkovskiane. Ho rinvenuto nuove appropriazioni che finora non erano note.

In den Jahren 1928 bis 1930 unternahm Leo Frobenius im südlichen Afrika die neunte seiner insgesamt zwölf Deutschen Innerafrikanischen Forschungs-Expeditionen. Von Kapstadt aus reiste der achtköpfige Expeditionstrupp über Pretoria bis zum Oberlauf des Zambesi im Gebiet des heutigen Zimbabwe. Unterwegs dokumentierten die Teilnehmer Felszeichnungen, untersuchten die materielle Kultur der durchreisten Gebiete und besuchten als erste Weiße die Königsgräber der Hungwe. Im Oktober 1928 erzwang ein Beinbruch Frobenius’ einen insgesamt siebenwöchigen Aufenthalt nahe Marandellas (Marondera), etwa 75 km östlich der rhodesischen Hauptstadt Salisbury gelegen, dem heutigen Harare. Dort, so scheint es, erwachte Frobenius’ Interesse an lokalen Volksmärchen.
