O reconhecimento da intenção do condutor a partir de sinais de eletroencefalografia (EEG) pode ser útil no desenvolvimento de interfaces cérebro computador (BCI) para serem usadas em sinergia com veículos inteligentes. Isso pode ser benéfico para melhorar a qualidade de interação entre o motorista e o carro, por exemplo, fornecendo uma resposta do carro inteligente alinhada com a intenção do motorista. Neste estudo, considera-se a antecipação como sendo o estado cognitivo que leva a ações especificas durante a condução de um automóvel. Portanto, propomos investigar a presença de padrões antecipatórios em sinais EEG durante a condução de veículos para determinar duas ações especifícas (1) virar à esquerda e (2) virar à direita, alguns milissegundos antes que tais ações aconteçam. Um protocolo experimental foi proposto para gravar sinais EEG de 5 indivíduos enquanto eles operam um simulador de realidade virtual não invasiva - que foi projetado para tal experimento - que simula a condução de um carro virtual. O protocolo experimental é uma variante do paradigma da variação negativa contingente (CNV) com condições Go e No-go no sistema de condução de realidade virtual. Os resultados apresentados neste estudo indicam a presença de padrões antecipatórios em potenciais corticais lentos observados no domínio do tempo (medias dos sinais EEG) e da frequência (Power Spectra e coerência de fase). Isso abre um leque de possibilidades no desenvolvimento de sistemas BCI - baseados em sinais antecipatórios - que conectem o motorista ao veiculo inteligente favorecendo uma tomada de decisão que analise as intenções dos condutores podendo eventualmente evitar acidentes durante a condução.

In-Car Navigation System and Route Guidance (RGNS), commercial or free, have adopted different graphic designs to maps which support the navigation task. This paper aims at evaluating the driver's subjective preference for colors to represent route and arrow direction in maps for these systems. A total of 54 drivers (27 males and 27 females) participated in an experiment which was performed in a parked vehicle. Two cartographic representations were produced to evaluate the route color and other two for the arrow color. The route was symbolized by black or blue color and the arrow direction by green or red hue. The cartographic representations were presented in a seven-inch navigation monitor. The results indicate that most drivers prefer the navigation route in black color. However, drivers who regularly use navigation systems have presented the tendency to prefer the route in blue hue. The direction arrow in green hue was the mostly preferred by the drivers and there was no significant correlation between different individual characteristics. This study concludes that drivers' preference was influenced by different factors, such as grouping by color, shape and proximity, subjective or conventional association, as well as by the level of contrast among the map features. Evaluating the performance of cartographic representations in route following task is recommended, in order to support the influence of graphic designs to maps in usability of route guidance systems.

O projeto busca intervir em uma região da cidade de Osasco (Região Metropolitana de Grande São Paulo), que é cortada pelo Rio Tietê, onde o rio acaba por criar uma grande barreira física. Esta barreira, apesar da existência de pontes no local, até hoje não conseguiu ser vencida urbanisticamente, ou seja, a cidade não conseguiu se integrar ao rio. O fato de essa região ser reduto de indústrias, em boa parte abandonadas, somados a poluição do rio, gera um cenário urbano degradado e faz com que a barreira que divide a cidade em duas partes seja maior. O Plano Diretor da cidade já aponta a necessidade de uma revitalização nessa área. A prefeitura da cidade vem desenvolvendo um projeto de revitalização de parte dessa área e ligando os dois lados. Porém essa ligação ainda dá traços de privilegiar mais o automóvel do que o pedestre, até mesmo pela largura considerável do rio nessa região. Nesse ponto, a proposta deste trabalho está em criar um elo de ligação entre as duas margens do rio, de maneira a integrá-lo a cidade e aos cidadãos. Essa integração deve ser segura, pois assaltos são freqüentes nas passarelas dessa região. Também deve apresentar um caráter estético satisfatório e que se encaixe na paisagem. Busca-se também a revitalização da área, com substituição das fábricas e galpões abandonados, por residências, serviços e comércio, assim criando uma nova dinâmica. Então, este trabalho aponta para a criação de um EDIFICIO-PONTE, como tentativa de solucionar o problema dessa ligação (ou falta dela), com segurança, qualidade urbanística, ampliação da dinâmica local, fluxo de pessoas, além de ser um desafio projetual de arquitetura, já que não são tão comuns os edifícios-ponte

This research project aims to study the relationship between the myths and the automobile, the contributions to the literature of fairy tales and the possible contributions of the heroes of fairy tales can bring to the process of teaching and learning defensive behavior in traffic. Traffic is a phenomenon so common to modern societies that often do not pay attention to their relevance as synonymous with social space and contains diversity of people and behaviors. To counter the image of fatalistic accidents and transgressions, will support us in the virtues of the hero figure to culminate in a collective tale in which children want to rethink their behavior, becoming citizens, with a more preventative and better quality of life. The research will be held in four rooms of elementary school in a city public school that serves children from families of the urban popular classes. The research will seek to analyze how the design of transit for the children and what the increase attributed to the theme, after the establishment of a collective story

As a result of the 20th-century industrial development, and particularly after World War II, cars have become an important consumer good, and this has led to a large number of circulating vehicles. To this day, the number of cars has increased exponentially worldwide, which results in a high number of traffic accidents (TAs) every day. TAs are responsible for 1.2 million deaths worldwide each year, and in Brazil, they are considered to be a public health problem, considering that its traffic is regarded as one of the worst and most dangerous in the world. In addition to temporary or permanent physical disabilities that bring great harm to individuals, accidents also cause psychological disorders, such as the post-traumatic stress disorder. Hence, considering the importance of TAs in the country and their outcomes, this study aimed at investigating the epidemiological aspects of car accidents occurring in 2010 who were assisted in the emergency room of a university hospital in São Paulo state. By means of records made by the nursing team and medical records analysis, it was possible to extract a stratified sample of 88 cases involving adults and eight cases involving children. The sample was analyzed by the SAS software for Windows, version 9.2. As regards the accidents involving adults, there was a predominance of males (67%), with an approximate 2:1 ratio in relation to females. The victims’ most frequent age range was 20-29 years (39%), and they were mostly single (56%). The month showing the largest number of occurrences was July, with 17%, and the weekday was Sunday, with 25%. Showing 32%, the time period when most accidents occurred was from 06:00 o’clock p.m. to 11:59 p.m. As regards vehicles types involved, motorcycles were in first place, with 47% of cases, and the most common accident type was crashing between vehicles, with 43%... La circulation urbaine dans les villes brésiliennes a été marquée par l'influence directe de l'automobile. Grâce aux possibilités découlant de l'automobile, les villes se développent de plus en plus désordonnées et exigent la création de nouveaux moyens pour maintenir le flux du trafic. Cependant, la création de nouvelles routes est venu de collaborer avec les embouteillages, parce que plus les routes ont été construites, plus elles ont généré le besoin de transport. La question du développement durable a commencé à être traités de 1987 et alors, les premières idées pour résoudre, entre autres, le problème de la circulation urbaine. Une des solutions suggérées par les études est l'utilisation de transports non-motorisés. Ainsi, le vélo est devenu le grand pari pour un transport plus durable. Au Brésil, le vélo est largement utilisé, mais n'est pas considéré comme un réel moyen de transport, qui conduit à de mauvais investissements et incitations. Par conséquent, des mesures sont nécessaires pour encourager le transport à vélo pour se obtenir, avec d'autres mesures, un transport plus durable. Enfin, l'étude de cas dans deux villes, Guaratinguetá et Lorena, montre l'influence de l'automobile dans la formation de ces deux villes, qui a fini par nuire les autres modes de transport qui auraient pu être mieux utilisés

In today's competitive environment of automakers, it is essential to obtain the highest efficiency of the production process. This paper presents a study in a pre-assembly of brake pipes and fuel of a vehicle where the value stream maps and information (VSM – Value Stream Mapping) were designed in order to improve the process by reducing the Lead Time Production of a product, reducing waste and decrease time between processes. This work can be divided into three stages, the first building the VSM of the initial state, the second VSM of the proposed state and finally the VSM than was actually performed and to present the gains were achieved effectively. The proposed VSM would lead to a gain of 54% in lead time and 61% in processing time, since the VSM implemented had gains of 47% in lead time and 48% in processing time even without major investments as originally proposed. Concluding that even without big investment, using the techniques of lean manufacturing is possible to achieve high levels of process efficiency

This research has as main objective the analysis of the auto industry has done to reduce disposal of solid waste in its production process as much as to facilitate the recycling of cars after they complete their life cycle. Despite the auto industry is not one of the most polluting in terms of its production process, it produces a good that is causing major pollution. In despite of the great current concern in seeking to reduce the emissions of pollutants by vehicles, as important as the quest for cleaner fuels is the study of how to dispose of old cars. Even if the car production does not increase significantly each year in relative terms, we must consider the fleet of used cars that still circulates in the world. Ending the mammoth “cemeteries” of automobiles, however, it is not so easy, even because the car is composed of various materials, which in many cases are not easily separable. In addition to an overview, the research seeks to examine the possible advances in Brazil related to the process of auto recycling

The automobile industry is increasingly interested in reducing vehicle weight for greater speed, lower fuel consumption and emissions, through innovation of materials and processes. One way to do this is to seek the replacement of conventional processes by the use of structural adhesives. Structural adhesives are highly resistant materials, which can replace rivets, bolts and welds allowing the substrate / adhesive assemble is stronger than the substrate itself. One of the major advantages of gluing with respect to welding is its esthetic appearance, since it does not leave marks. For this reason, parts to be soldered require a minimum thickness so that the marks do not appear, since the pieces from gluing have no restriction as to the thickness. By replacing the vibration welding process for gluing process of the instrument panel parts of an automobile, one obtains a reduction of the thickness of the parts and therefore it decreases the weight of the car. This work aims to study the various structural adhesives that already exist on the market to be applied on the instrument panel. The mechanical test performed to measure the maximum adhesive strength was the Lap Shear Test at 23°C (room temperature), -35°C and 85°C. The types of adhesives used were the hot-melt and the bi-component. By the results obtained, it is in favor using the bi-component for application to the union of instrument panel parts

In this work we studied the urban movement of an important avenue of the city of Guaratingueta, in the Vale do Paraíba, State of Sao Paul, which is the Avenida João Pessoa, located in the Pedregulho neighborhood. Through literature review on this topic, we could contribute to the understanding of car culture in Brazilian cities.Through research on the history of this neighborhood, and said avenue, interviews with the passers-by and also via site visits, we analyzed the situation of urban traffic of Avenida João Pessoa. One of the main intentions of the study was to propose guidelines for the improvement of urban traffic of Avenida João Pessoa

This work dealt with the main urban problems Elevated President Costa e Silva, who is the main target of São Paulo's urban criticism. Several factors that are directly related to the presence of the High Expressway in the city, as its road importance, for example were also analyzed. Based on the history of the area around the high and their design, we examined its geographic disposition and its road importance, followed by analysis of its urban problems above the expressway below expresses life and the social question about the presence of Minhocão . Were also made analysis on urban transport and the car culture that led to the design of the High Expressway. Were also raised examples of similar cases around the world to establish parameters for subsequent conceptual framework and guidelines for intervention. For the preparation of the feasibility of the intervention demolition of the high was studied. Finally guidelines for interventions were high bids, as well as a planning model using the methodology Canvas
