What you need to know about Judicial Retention Elections, August 2012

Retention elections are intended to focus on the professional competency of Iowa’s judges rather than the popularity of individual rulings. In a retention election, voters decide whether a judge should be retained or removed from office. If a judge receives a majority of “yes” votes, the judge serves another full term. If a judge receives a majority of “no” votes, the judge is removed from office at the end of the year.

Anàlisi lingüística d'un procés judicial de Mallorca del començament del segle XV

Aquest treball és l'anàlisi lingüística diacrònica d'un procés judicial sobre proxenetisme celebrat entre el mes de desembre de 1403 i el mes d'abril de 1404 a Binissalem (Mallorca). L'interès per la llengua no literària dels textos catalans medievals n'és el seu l'origen. L'estudi que presentam s'ha dividit en diferents seccions en què analitzam els nivells lingüístics (grafies i fonètica, morfosintaxi i lèxic). Els resultats aconseguits ens han permès confirmar i aportar més informació sobre l'estat de la llengua a la Mallorca medieval, entre els quals destacam alguns trets innovadors que detallam a l'anàlisi
