Preliminary use of oxygen stable isotopes and the 1983 El Niño to assess the accuracy of aging black rockfish (Sebastes melanops)

Black rockfish (Sebastes melanops) range from California to Alaska and are found in both nearshore and shallow continental shelf waters (Love et al., 2002). Juveniles and subadults inhabit shallow water, moving deeper as they grow. Generally, adults are found at depths shallower than 55 meters and reportedly live up to 50 years. The species is currently managed by using information from an age-structured stock assessment model (Ralston and Dick, 2003).

Independência ou irrelevância?: produção legislativa e vetos na Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1983-2010)

A relação entre governadores e assembleias estaduais no Brasil é marcada pela tese de que os governadores possuem ampla capacidade para estabelecerem um pacto homologatório com os legislativos estaduais. Literatura recente tem buscado comparar as experiências dos diferentes estados. O Rio de Janeiro tem se destacado como um dos casos em que o legislativo conseguiu espaço para levar adiante uma agenda própria. Esse diagnóstico contrasta não só com a tese do poder dos governadores, mas também com a experiência histórica da máquina política chaguista no Estado. Essa tese busca entender como que a relação dos governadores do Estado do Rio de Janeiro com a Assembleia Legislativa do Estado se desenvolveu desde a retomada das eleições diretas para esse cargo em 1982 até o ano de 2010. A principal hipótese é a de que as mudanças no federalismo brasileiro e o ajuste fiscal levados a cabo durante os anos 1990 foram centrais para repactuar a relação entre os dois poderes. Essas mudanças nacionais permitiram que um desejo de maior independência na relação entre os poderes ganhasse espaço. A mudança na relação entre os poderes é comprovada pelo crescimento temporal na quantidade de vetos do governador derrubados pelo legislativo. A tese mostra, no entanto, que o ganho de espaço para atuação do legislativo não significou uma restrição às agendas do Executivo que continuou a ser ator central da política estadual.

This is the report from the West Cumbria Special Fisheries Advisory Group meeting, which was held on the 9th March, 1983. This is the report from the Northern Area Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 28th March, 1983. This is the report from the Central Area Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 30th March, 1983. This is the report from the Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 27th June, 1983. The report contains Fishing Licence Duties, Fyke nets and Otters, the income from the sale of Rod and Line licences, Fisheries improvement Grant and Fisheries Equipment Loan Schemes. Raúl Adolfo Ringuelet (1914 1982): Una síntesis de su trayectoria con énfasis en sus contribuciones a la Ictiología y Limnología.

Historia de la Ciencia fue una materia ofrecida en 2003, por el curso de Posgrado en Ciencias Ambientales (PEA) de la Universidad Estadual de Maringá, PR, Brasil, dictada por la profesora Luiza Marta Bellini. Durante el curso de la misma, se discutía sobre la historia y filosofía de vida de los científicos que brillaron o, por el contrario, pasaron desapercibidos por la historia del pensamiento humano. Al final del término de la materia, se logró compilar un libro llamado Ecólogos e suas histórias: Um olhar sobre a construção das ideas ecológicas (Pelicice et al., 2010). El capitulo diez del libro, es un comentario sobre algunos pioneros que contribuyeron para el desarrollo de la Limnología fluvial en Sudamérica. Dos fueron tratados en ese capítulo, Harald Sioli y Juan José Neiff (ver Arenas‐Ibarra et al., 2010). Sin embargo, la idea principal del capítulo era incluir también a los doctores Argentino Aurelio Bonetto y Raúl Adolfo Ringuelet, pero cuestiones relativas al formato y espacio de cada capítulo, impidieron mantener la integridad original de éste y el mayor conocimiento de las contribuciones de estos dos destacados investigadores argentinos en tierras brasileras. Si bien esta omisión fue compensada en parte por el artículo de Arenas‐Ibarra & Souza‐Filho (2010) en el que se resaltan las figuras de Bonetto y Rzóska como precursores de la Limnología fluvial, quedó aún pendiente este reconocimiento por parte de los autores de este documento a Raúl Ringuelet. Con motivo de que en el transcurso de este año se cumplieron treinta años del fallecimiento del Dr. Raúl Adolfo Ringuelet, decidimos, por invitación de Hugo Luis López, publicar el material recopilado durante la materia cursada en la Universidad Estadual de Maringá (UEM, Brasil), actualizándola con nuevos datos proporcionados por Hugo López y Juan José Neiff. Este trabajo es una síntesis de las ideas de Raúl Adolfo Ringuelet, quien sin duda se encuentra entre los pioneros de la ictio‐limnología local y sudamericana.

O foco da análise são os textos críticos e teóricos desses autores, tomando-se especialmente em consideração questões da teoria de Johann Gottfried Herder sobre a poesia popular enquanto poesia natural, que deveria servir de matéria prima para a literatura erudita
