Objective: To identify the adherence rate of a statin treatment and possible related factors in female users from the Unified Health System. Method: Seventy-one women were evaluated (64.2 ± 11.0 years) regarding the socio-economic level, comorbidities, current medications, level of physical activity, self-report of muscular pain, adherence to the medical prescription, body composition and biochemical profile. The data were analyzed as frequencies, Chi-Squared test, and Mann Whitney test (p<0.05). Results: 15.5% of women did not adhere to the medical prescription for the statin treatment, whose had less comorbidities (p=0.01), consumed less quantities of medications (p=0.00), and tended to be younger (p=0.06). Those patients also presented higher values of lipid profile (CT: p=0.01; LDL-c: p=0.02). Musculoskeletal complains were not associated to the adherence rate to the medication. Conclusion: The associated factors to adherence of dyslipidemic women to statin medical prescription were age, quantity of comorbidities and quantity of current medication.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the weaknesses and strengths of nursing care in the Family Health Strategy and its interfaces with the Unified Health System network.METHODA qualitative study performed by means of semi-structured interviews and systematic observations, with the participation of a nursing team of 15 people from October of 2012 to January of 2013.RESULTSStrengths that were emphasized: the nurse's versatility in conducting users within the unit and the health system, therefore directly acting upon access to these services. The nurse is the main subject that participates in the care processes for the person, family and social groups. Weaknesses that were highlighted: fragile embracement and low resolution of users' and families' problems.CONCLUSIONThe nursing care process in health units still lacks collective articulation, involvement of the team, and decentralization of the decisions.

Iowa Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 2007 Report of Savings by Using Video Conferencing Through Iowa Communications Network to the Iowa General Assembly Pursuant to Chapter II 84 Acts and Joint Resolutions Enacted at the 1994 Regular Session of the 75th General Assembly of the State of Iowa Code section 8D.10 Report of Savings by State Agencies Iowa Code section 8D.10 requires certain state agencies prepare an annual report to the General Assembly certifying the identified savings associated with that state agency’s use of the Iowa Communications Network (ICN). This report covers estimated cost savings related to video conferencing via ICN for the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). In FY 2007, the DOT conducted two sessions utilizing ICN’s video conferencing system. These two sessions included DOT employees in Ames with non-DOT participants at remote ICN sites. Since the cost savings is calculated based on DOT staff savings, no cost savings from these conferences were gained because the public participants were attending from the ICN sites.
