This research investigates the discursive constitution of identities; in spe-cial, it aim to problematize women identities constitution, pointing discursive prac-tices and power relations which involve them. The interviewed subjects had been adult women who had resumed their school trajectory, after certain period without frequenting educational establishments. Aware of that those identities can be per-ceived through the observations of the discursive practices, we question: which discursive practices and power relations involve and constitute those women? Which identity positionings they take through the discursive practices and power relations that include them and that are identified in their stories? Which linguistic marks characterize, in the speech of those women, forms of resistance in the con-stitution of identities? We intend to investigate the constitution of woman identities in the contemporanity; pointing discursive practices and power relations which in-volve women that converge to their identity constitution; exploring in the linguistic materiality effects of senses that emanate of the discursive practices and power relations which involve the collaborators in the identity constitution in private and public spaces. Research corpus is composed by stories of life granted by three women, collected through semidirected interview between 2004 and 2005. To ana-lyze the data, we base in authors as Pêcheux (1993; 2002), Foucault (1979; 1988; etc.), Butler (2003), Scott (1992; 1995), Hall (2000; 2004; 2005), Bauman (1999; 2005), among others that problematize questions as discourse, identity, social gender, power and its interfaces. The life stories had allowed to analyze: the gen-der identity constitution from discursive practices and relations of forces lived in the familiar scenery; assumed identity positionings from discursive practices in globalized urban contexts; power positions in the domestic and extradomestic sphere and new identity positionings

An extracellular alkaline serine protease has been purified from a strain of Aspergillus clavatus, to apparent homogeneity, by ammonium sulfate precipitation and chromatography on Sephadex G-75. Its molar mass, estimated by SDS-PAGE, was 35 kDa. Maximum protease activity was observed at pH 9.5 and 40 degrees C. The enzyme was active between pH 6.0 and 11.0 and was found to be unstable up to 50 degrees C. Calcium at 5 mM increased its thermal stability. The protease was strongly inhibited by PMSF and chymostatin as well as by SDS, Tween 80 and carbonate ion. Substrate specificity was observed with N-p-Tos-Gly-Pro-Arg-p-nitroanilide and N-Suc-Ala-Ala-Ala-p-nitroanilide being active substates. Parts of the amino acid sequence were up to 81% homologous with those of several fungal alkaline serine proteases.

This descriptive study aimed to investigate what changes of emotional states more sensitive to internal and external influences and to investigate the motivating factors and stressors in basketball players of a Regional Championship of the Interior . Study subjects were 56 (fifty - six) athletes, members of 05 (five) highest ranked teams in the competition. As a measuring tool used the Frester ‟sP sychicLoad Test (1972, apud SAMULSKI, CHAGAS, 1992) . Data analys used descriptive statistics. The findings showed that the facts considered as motivators during the competition were: the audience, the fact of constantly thinking on achieving the desirable aims, and the establishment of very high aims; the stressful factors were: disagreements and conflicts with the coach, partners or family, bad sleeping the night before the competition, excessive nervousness and to be prejudiced by the referees . Therefore, we can conclude: the facts that influence the interest can be of motivating or stressful order , depending on the personal and situational perception; most athletes characterized the competiti ve sport as more stressful than motivating, and this assessment influenced by constant pressure of intrinsic and extrinsic factors that athletes suffers during the competitive environment

With the popularization of information technology and government incentives for inclusion in the digital era, an important issue for science and for industry is the design of tool s for entrance of input to the device, that is , the peripherals at tached to the computer that are reaching the consumer. In order to minimize the impact of repetitive use of these tools for entry, whether when playing games or working, more studies are in need to developper ipherals that enable comfort and effi ciency. This study examined the per formance of individuals with differents izes of hand (i.e., large and small ) in performance of three task s on the computer us ing mouses of small and large sizes. For thi s study, 19 young adul ts were volunteers and asked to per form activities with greater precision and speed. In addition, al l participants were asked on the use of computers. The results showed no statistically significant differences in the performance related to the size of the mouse between subjects with small and large hands. However, an interest ingresult as observed with respect to the performance of individuals with a large hand to perform tas ks more quickly. The results of this study suggest that with both, the small and the large mouse, individuals with big hands have a fas terper formancein tasks of dragging and clicking when compared with the performance of indi viduals with small hand.

The vitamin E derivative (+)alpha-tocopheryl succinate (alpha-TOS) exerts pro-apoptotic effects in a wide range of tumors and is well tolerated by normal tissues. Previous studies point to a mitochondrial involvement in the action mechanism; however, the early steps have not been fully elucidated. In a model of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) derived from hCG-PML-RAR alpha transgenic mice, we demonstrated that alpha-TOS is as effective as arsenic trioxide or all-trans retinoic acid, the current gold standards of therapy. We also demonstrated that alpha-TOS induces an early dissipation of the mitochondrial membrane potential in APL cells and studies with isolated mitochondria revealed that this action may result from the inhibition of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I. Moreover, alpha-TOS promoted accumulation of reactive oxygen species hours before mitochondrial cytochrome c release and caspases activation. Therefore, an in vivo antileukemic action and a novel mitochondrial target were revealed for alpha-TOS, as well as mitochondrial respiratory complex I was highlighted as potential target for anticancer therapy. ABSTRACT The hatchlings Caretta caretta, during the eclosion and before the abandon of their nest, produce sounds associated to creakling and scrape of the eggshell, and howl, whistle and cough, in a frequency range between 300 and 2600 Hz. Nevertheless, the howls and whistles, that could be associated to a vocalization apparatus, were emitted at a higher frequency (1500-2600 Hz) than the auditory range describe for this species (250-1000 Hz), and therefore probably inaudible for them. However, sounds generated as a consequence of breathing exercises and sand expulsion from the airways through coughs (300- 1200 Hz), by the recently hatched turtles, could be used as signal or stimulus for the hatch of the reminder eggs in the nest.
