O advento de novas matrizes energéticas no Brasil: experiências da implantação do PNPB em Mirante do Paranapanema e a produção de biodiesel em Mauá, Estado de São Paulo

Faced with the global discussion about the development of new alternative energy sources, this work tries to contribute to the understanding of the introduction of biodiesel in the energy market, identifying the barriers in the social logic, economic and productive in different spaces, rural and urban. Based on the guidelines of the National Biodiesel Production and Use Program (PNPB), it intended to accompany the implementation of public policies in relation to family farmers settled in the Pontal, located in the western region of São Paulo. In parallel, we will analyze the organizational structure and logistics of the production of biodiesel in the city, although it does not dependent on agricultural production and it is not a target of public policies, it takes advantage of the demand created by PNPB when it comes to increasing the amount of biodiesel blended with mineral origin diesel. The activity examined in the urban space is the collection of used frying oil held by Ecosanta Biofuels, a company located in the town of Maua, São Paulo metropolitan region. Avaliação da influência da esterilização por radiação gama nas propriedades mecânicas, estruturais e na biocompatibilidade de matrizes híbridas orgânico-inorgânicas

Atualmente, as pesquisas acadêmicas e industriais não estão voltadas apenas para a descoberta de novos fármacos, mas também para novas maneiras de administração de medicamentos pretendendo obter melhores ações farmacológicas alem de reduzir efeitos colaterais. Partindo deste pressuposto, estudos demonstram que inúmeras moléculas podem ser incorporadas a polímeros híbridos orgânico-inorgânico preparados pelo processo sol-gel, assim pretende-se estudar a possibilidade de sua aplicação no desenvolvimento de um dispositivo de liberação controlada de fármacos na forma de implantes subcutâneos. As matrizes hibridas para serem implantadas devem, necessariamente, ser estéreis. Para isto este trabalho analisa a interação entre o processo de esterilização e uma provável alteração estrutural nestes polímeros. A esterilização por calor úmido em autoclave e a esterilização por radiação gama foram escolhidas para analisar a correlação entre alteração estrutural do hibrido e o processo de eliminação de microorganismos. Outro aspecto que levamos em consideração foi a melhora das características mecânicas das matrizes poliméricas confeccionadas com poli óxido etileno de peso molecular 1900 (POE 1900) e poli óxido propileno de peso molecular 400 (POP 400). Para serem implantadas estas matrizes devem estar uniformes, e não podem trincar ou quebrar antes ou após a implantação. Considerando estes fatores foi adicionado as amostras um agente plastificante, o álcool polivinílico (PVA), na tentativa de melhorar estas características

Avaliação de sistemas de pultrudados com diferentes tipos de matrizes para aplicação em cabos condutores

In the last decades it has been observed a substantial developing of the electrical energy demand in the societies all over the World. In consequence the electrical energy distribution companies are increasing the quantity of electrical energy through the electrical energy conductor cables, which had grown the sag in the towers of energy transmission. Furthermore, the construction of more transmission towers brings a lot of troubles due environmental protection laws. In this way, looking forward to increase the quantity of electrical energy transmitted through electrical cables conductors, reduce the need of constructing new transmission towers and the sag in them, we suggest in this work the replace of the traditional core of the conductors cables commonly used, made of steel, by a core made by a composite material, which one is made by carbon fibers pultruded with polymeric resins as matrix. In a order to evaluate if the resins more commonly used in structural composites can be applied as matrix to make possible to use the composite material as a core, we made carbon fibers systems pultruded with epoxy, phenolic and polyester resins as matrix and a mechanic and physic-chemistry characterization was done on the systems by Tensile and Poisson tests, differential sprobe calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), following their correspondents standards

Maternal smoking during pregnancy causes heart changes, impaired fetal growth, spontaneous abortion and low birth weight. Even in pregnant women exposed to cigarette smoke these changes can be observed. But the exercise is to answer the increased fetal weight, besides the improvement of cardiorespiratory fitness of the pregnant and the fetus. The objective of this study was to analyze the ventricular muscle of young rats subjected to passive smoking associated with aquatic exercise. For the experiments used 24 female rats were divided into: GC (control), GE (exercise protocol in the water), GF(exposed to cigarette smoke) and GEF (exercise protocol on water and exposed to cigarette smoke). On the same day was held the 1st session of the experimental phase of the protocol of exposure to cigarette smoke, which consisted of 30 minutes twice a day, six days a week for three weeks, followed by the first session of the swimming program... Análise das matrizes sobre associativismo civil norteadoras da formação de trabalhadores para Ongs

This article presents research that aimed to discuss the theoretical frameworks about civil associativism prescribed by the trainers of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) workers. The requirements for civil associations made by trainers were analyzed based on two data and reference categories, named empirical and analytical. The empirical categories emerged from the data collected by means of interviews with trainers and also examining the documents that guided the course. The analytical categories were constructed from the literature review on the approaches of civil associations, which are: North American Third Sector Approach; Critical Approach to the Third Sector and Social Local Development (DSL in the Portuguese acronym). The study presents indications that could support the development of other research on the topic and, mainly academic knowledge for further development of new training processes for NGO workers.
