The approach of the subject matter in this work relies on the fact that the reliability of methods for performance analysis of materials proves critical for the result. This work focused on the development and presentation of the methodology for lifting probability curves for fatigue test (SN) according to standard E739, this focus is justified by the fact that the results in fatigue test show considerable dispersion making it difficult to reading and interpretation of data, this dispersion arises because the phenomenon of rupture is strongly influenced by internal characteristics of the material, we can then have much data ranging from test to test. Thus we set out originally for a brief study of aluminum alloys in question, as well as the treatments to which they were subjected. We also studied the behavior of materials when subjected to cyclic loading, which configures process of fatigue failure, and even fatigue test method in question. This statistical analysis is based on the ASTM E739 standard, so its contents was studied in detail so that we could present in detail the methodology and raise SN curves for different aluminum alloy 7012 subjected to fatigue test. Data were collected from tests conducted in the department of materials from two samples of aluminum alloy 7012 solubilized and precipitated by different time intervals and assayed temperature fatigue-type traction-compression, these data were then analyzed and used to survey curves using the base as E739. After lifting the curve analyzed the characteristics of the test samples and their correlation with the test results. We confirmed the effectiveness of the method of statistical analysis by ASME E739, which allowed the reading of data without this method would be very difficult to have a reading and comparison of the results for the two types... The Vazante Fault Zone (VFZ), located northwestward of Minas Gerais, host the largest zinc deposit known in the Brazilian territory. This structure is hosted in Vazante’s Group rocks, a metassedimentary sequence of marine environment. Near Vazante is situated the south end of the VFZ. To the west, occur the Serra do Garrote inflexion, characterized by a curvature in the contact of Formations Serra do Garrote and Serra do Poço Verde. This structure is through the analysis of aerial imagery of the region and represented in the published geological maps. The objective of this work is to understand what causes this inflexion and determine whether it affects the VZF, causing a shift in the same, and possibly, in the mineralization as well. To this end, it was done a mapping work in the region covering the Serra do Garrote inflexion and the south end of the VFZ, in 1:25.000 scale, supplemented by petrographic description of thin section and geologic sections, with cooperated to the understanding of the structural evolution of the region. Data analysis allowed the identification of six deformation phases. The D1 an D2 phases generated the main foliation. The D3 phase generate kink bands folds, with NS axis and vertical axial plane. The fourth phase is responsible for generating the Vazante Fault Zone. The fifth phase produces low angle folds and shear zones, subparallel to S1//S2. The last phase generates folds with NW axis and vertical axial plane, with causes the inflection of lithologic contactas. Field observations also make possible the conclusion that the Vazante Fault Zone presents a south continuation, which is affected by deformation associated to D6 phase attributing to the trace of the VFZ a curved geometry, similar to that exhibited by lithologic contacts between units of the map

Este trabalho apresenta a Caracterização Estrutural da Zona de Falha da Cachoeira na região compreendida entre as cidades de Jundiaí e Monte Mor no estado de São Paulo. A Zona da Falha da Cachoeira constitui um importante alinhamento estrutural de direção NW no Embasamento Cristalino e adentra-se no mesmo sentido na Bacia do Paraná afetando os sedimentos paleozóicos. Para a investigação da Zona de Falha foi necessária a definição das características geológico-estruturais e tectônicas da área. As análises macro e mesoscópicas indicam forte estruturação de relevo e dos alinhamentos de drenagem para direção NW-SE e subordinadamente para NE-SW. A zona de falha é marcada pela presença de rochas com texturas miloniticas, cataclásticas e trama de cristais isorientados não deformados. Falhas normais, transcorrentes dextrais, sinistrais foram identificadas e suas análises permitiram inferir um quadro evolutivo para a zona da Falha da Cachoeira, onde as falhas de direções NW-SE antigas relacionadas à paleotectônica e a formação das rochas miloniticas e cataclásticas , as NE-SW aos falhamentos normais da tectônica distensiva do sistema rifts do Sudeste Brasileiro que geraram os depósitos terciários e as falhas normais NW-SE a aos movimentos transcorrentes neotectônicos.

A Zona de Falha de Cássia constitui um feixe de falhas de direção preferencial NW-SE e aproximadamente 2 km de largura. Dados de campo, petrográficos e microestruturais evidenciam uma longa história deformacional da zona de falha. Assim, foram caracterizadas três fases de atividade/movimentação da Zona de Falha de Cássia. A primeira fase (précambriana) é caracterizada por deformação em regime dúctil, acarretando na geração de milonitos formados em condições metamórficas de fácies xisto verde. Este é o estágio de formação da falha, apresentando caráter transcorrente oblíqua, com movimentação sinistral inversa. A segunda fase corresponde a uma reativação da zona de falha como uma falha normal, com bloco alto a NE e bloco baixo a SW da referida estrutura. Seu registro é dado pela ocorrência localizada de brechas e cataclasitos. Este episódio de deformação eminentemente rúptil é correlacionado com o Soerguimento do Alto Paranaíba, o que indica movimentação da falha no Neocretáceo. A terceira e última fase é marcada pela formação de depósitos sedimentares plio-pleistocênicos compostos por brecha sedimentar de leques aluviais e sedimentos argilosos lacustres. Tais depósitos são interpretados como originados pelo represamento da drenagem subatual e conseqüente mudança do nível de base local, em decorrência de uma reativação da Zona de Falha de Cássia. O referido pacote sedimentar apresenta-se localmente cortado por fraturas, zonas brechadas e falhas, caracterizando atividade neotectônica na região. Além disso, foi mostrada a forte influência da zona de falha no desenvolvimento da paisagem da região, sendo constatada a inversão do relevo e da drenagem na área estudada.

This paper presents a case report with the use of short dental implants and immediate prosthesis placement. After 13 months of follow-up, peri-implant probing values are near 1.87 mm and ISQ values around 78.56.

The success rate of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures is directly related to the adhesive system and the tooth preparation design for good retention. These resin-bonded bridges represent a prosthodontic alternative, based on their costeffectiveness, conservative techniques, and ease of laboratory manufacturing. Through a thorough review of the literature, this study aimed to report on cavity designs, types of materials used, and the advantages and disadvantages of the resin-bonded fixed partial denture. One of significant advantages of the resin-bonded fixed partial dentures is the conservation of the tooth structure, whereas its main disadvantage includes aesthetic limitations, given that the alloy may in fact be visible. Preparation design, cement type, and casting alloy type, as well as surface treatment, are among the factors that influence the longevity of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures. Treatments with resin-bonded fixed partial dentures present a bright outlook regarding the conservation of tooth structures, as well as a high level of success.

The use of different methods and materials should be considered during the planning of implant-supported prostheses. Complications such as fractures of the acrylic resin base, wear and fracture of teeth can occur frequently, creating the need for careful planning for each patient, which can make the selection of the type of treatment more complex. Thus, this article describes the oral rehabilitation of a completely edentulous patient with bimaxillary fixed implant-supported prosthesis, with complaints on aesthetics, loss of vertical dimension and fracture of acrylic resin teeth of the upper arch. After the restoration of vertical dimension, his dentures were replaced with new bimaxillary implant-supported fixed prostheses, ceramic and acrylic resin were used as veneering material for maxilla and mandible, respectively. At the end of the treatment, the patient received bimaxillary flat occlusal splints to protect the teeth and implants of possible parafunctional habits. The approach for the treatment allowed a quick and effective resolution, with aesthetic and functional outcomes very favorable for the patient.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that results in the destruction of teeth and their supporting tissues with subsequent tooth loss. The replacement of missing teeth for implant-supported restorations has proven to be a highly predictable treatment method with good long-term prognosis. However, some consequences of tooth loss prevents dental implant placement in an ideal position, where regenerative procedures are necessary for this type of rehabilitation. Less invasive procedures such as conventional prosthesis emerge as a therapeutic option in cases where there is enough bone structure for implants and patient´s non-acceptance for invasive procedures. Thus, this paper aims to present the resolution of rehabilitation through a noninvasive and multidisciplinary treatment. One female patient referred to the clinic presented maladaptive bilateral mandibular fixed prostheses, endodontic lesions, gingival recession, and root sensitivity. For proper resolution of this case, an association among osseointegrated implants, fixed partial prosthesis, tooth extraction, and aesthetic periodontal procedures with the use of subepithelial connective tissue graft was proposed. After two years, the patient shows excellent aesthetics and chewing. Within the limits of this scenario, this paper discusses the various factors that may affect the choice of a particular treatment modality for the rehabilitation of edentulous single spaces.
