Synthesis and matrix isolated photolysis of 2,3-dimethylbicyclo [2.2.0]hexa-2,5-diene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid anhydride: a potential percursor to 2,3-dimethyl-1,4-dehydrobenzene

The synthesis of the first member of a new class of Dewar benzenes has been achieved. The synthesis of 2,3- dimethylbicyclo[2.2.0]hexa-2,5-diene-1, 4-dicarboxylic acid and its anhydride are described. Dibromomaleic anhydride and dichloroethylene were found to add efficiently in a photochemical [2+2] cycloaddition to produce 1,2-dibromo- 3,4-dichlorocyclobutane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid. Removal of the bromines with tin/copper couple yielded dichloro- cyclobutenes which added to 2-butyne under photochemical conditions to yield 5,6-dichloro-2,3-dimethylbicyclo [2.2.0] hex-2-ene dicarboxylic acids. One of the three possible isomers yielded a stable anhydride which could be dechlorinated using triphenyltin radicals generated by the photolysis of hexaphenylditin.

Photolysis of argon matrix isolated 2,3-dimethylbicyclo [2.2.0]hexa-2, 5-diene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid anhydride produced traces whose strongest bands in the infrared were at 3350 and 600 cm^(-1). This suggested the formation of terminal acetylenes. The spectra of argon matrix isolated E- and Z- 3,4-dimethylhexa-1,5-diyne-3-ene and cis-and trans-octa- 2,6-diyne-4-ene were compared with the spectrum of the photolysis products. Possibly all four diethynylethylenes were present in the anhydride photolysis products. Gas chromatograph-mass spectral analysis of the volatiles from the anhydride photolysis again suggested, but did not confirm, the presence of the diethynylethylenes.

1 × 4 space switching and simultaneous all-optical wavelength conversion at 2.488Gbit/s using a single monolithically integrated multiwavelength laser

A novel InGaAs/InGaAsP/InP integrated multiwavelength grating cavity laser is presented, which has been used to demonstrate space switching and simultaneous all-optical wavelength conversion at bit rates of 2.488 Gbit/s. This has been achieved using a single monolithically integrated device without the need for post-filtering to separate the converted signal from the input.

Metal dependent control of cis-/trans-1,4 regioselectivity in 1,3-butadiene polymerization catalyzed by transition metal complexes supported by 2,6-bis[1-(iminophenyl)ethyl]pyridine

Fe(III), Cr(III), Fe(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) chloride complexes supported by 2,6-bis[1-(iminophenyl)ethyl]pyridine have been synthesized and characterized along with single crystal X-ray diffraction. These complexes, in combination with MAO, have been examined in butadiene polymerization. The catalytic activity and regioselectivity are strongly controlled by metal center and cocatalyst (MAO/Co ratio dependent in the case of Co(II) complex). The activity decreases in the order of Fe(III) > Co(II) > Cr(III) approximate to Ni (II) complexes, in consistent with the space around the metal center. Polybutadiene with different microstructure content, from high trans-1,4 units (88-95% for iron(III) and Cr(III)), medium trans-1,4 and cis-1,4 units (55% and 35%, respectively, for iron(II)) to high cis-1,4 units 79% for Co(II) and 97% for Ni(II) call be easily achieved by varying of the metal center.

Synthesis and characterization of novel sulfonated polyimides from 1,4-bis(4-aminophenoxy)-naphthyl-2,7-disulfonic acid

A novel sulfonated diamine monomer, 1,4-bis(4-aminophenoxy)-naphthyl-2,7-disulfonic acid (BAPNDS), was synthesized. A series of sulfonated polyimide copolymers were prepared from BAPNDS, 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (NTDA) and nonsulfonated diamine 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether (ODA). Flexible, transparent, and mechanically strong membranes were obtained. The membranes displayed slightly anisotropic membrane swelling. The dimensional change in thickness direction was larger than that in planar. The novel SPI membranes showed higher conductivity, which was comparable or even higher than Nafion 117. Membranes exhibited methanol permeability from 0.24 x 10(-6) to 0.80 X 10(-6) cm(2)/s at room temperature, which was much lower than that of Nafion (2 x 10-6 CM2/s). The copolymers were thermally stable up to 340 degrees C. These preliminary results have proved its potential availability as proton-exchange membrane for PEMFCs or DMFCs.

Rapid solution and solid phase synthesis of monodisperse oligo[(1,4-phenyleneethynylene)-alt-(2,5-thiopheneethynylene)]s

Monodisperse oligo[(1,4-phenyleneethynylene)-alt-(2,5-thiopheneethynylene)]s, new candidates for molecular wires, were rapidly synthesized via an iterative divergent/convergent doubling strategy in solution as well as on Merrifield's resin.

Poly[di-mu(3)-chloro-mu(2)-trans-1,2-di-4-pyridylethylene-dicopper(I)]: a two-dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid constructed from linear CuCl clusters and bridging ligands

The structure of the title compound, [Cu2Cl2(C12H10N2)](n), contains infinite CuCl staircase-like chains, which lie about inversion centres. The trans-1,2-di-4-pyrid-ylethyl-ene mol-ecules also lie about inversion centres and connect the CuCl chains through Cu-N coordination bonds into a two-dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid network. The planar sheets are stacked along the c axis and associated through weak C-H center dot center dot center dot Cl inter-actions. The results show a reliable structural motif with controllable separation of the CuCl chains by variation of the length of the ligand.

用核磁共振方法表征6(8)氨基-3H苯[1,2]氧嗪-1,4-二酮

用一维1HNMR、13CNMR方法研究了6(8)氨基-3H苯[1,2]氧嗪-1,4二-酮的结构,并通过二维1H-1H同核相关谱(COSY)、13C-1H异核相关谱(HMQC)及13C-1H异核远程相关谱(HMBC)进一步确定了该类化合物的1H谱和13C谱中各谱峰的归属,为研究同类化合物表征提供了依据。

Novel highly selective anion chemosensors based on 2,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole

2-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole 1 and 2,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole 2 were used as anion fluorescent and colorimetric chemosensors with high selectivity for H2PO4- and F- over Cl-, while 2 can even distinguish H2PO4- from F-. 3{1-[2-(-3-羟基-1-甲基-2-亚丁烯氨基)-苯亚氨基]-乙基}4-甲硫基-2,4-戊二烯-2-醇的不对称Schiff碱镍(Ⅱ)配合物的合成、结构和性质

由 5-(2-乙酰基-1-甲硫基-3-羰基-亚丁基)-丙二酸亚异丙酯 (1)与邻苯二胺及乙酸镍()经一步反应合成了3{1-[2-( -3-羟基-1-甲基-2-亚丁烯氨基)-苯亚氨基 ]-乙基} 4-甲硫基-2,4-戊二烯-2-醇(3)的不对称四齿 Schiff碱镍()配合物(2),X射线衍射结果表明,配合物 2属单斜晶系,P21/C空间群.a=1.1476(2)nm,b=1.1782(2)nm,c=1.4810(3)nm;β=111.73(2)°,V=1.8602(7)nm3,Z=4,Rf=0.0535.电化学(循环伏安)测定结果表明,该配合物在测定条件下(阳极峰电位为1.1)发生了不可逆的氧化-还原反应.

Synthesis and structure of iron complex with 1,2-dithiolate-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane [Li(THF)(4)][Fe(S2C2B10H10)(2)(THF)]

The crystal of complex [Li(THF)(4)][Fe(S2C2B10H10)(2)(THF)] 3 belongs to monoclinic, space group P2(1) with a = 11.964(2), b = 16.527(3), c = 12.554(3) Angstrom,beta = 108.70(3)degrees, V= 2351.3(8) Angstrom(3), Z = 2, M-r = 835.95, D-c = 1.181 g/cm(3), mu (MoKalpha) = 5.30 cm(-1), f(000) = '874, R = 0.0622 and Rw 0.1538 for 1641 observed reflections with I > 2sigma(I). The ionic complex,of 3 contains the square pyramidal anion of [Fe(S2C2B10H10)(2)(THF)](-) and the tetrahedral cation of [Li(THF)(4)](+). The iron is 5-coordinated and located in the square pyramidal configuration. The iron atom and the four sulfur atoms are almost coplanar. The Lithium atom is coordinated with four oxygen atoms of four THF molecules and located in a tetrahedral configuration.

聚苯胺对2,5-二巯基-1,3,4-噻二唑氧化还原反应的电化学催化作用的循环伏安研究

研究了聚苯胺 ( PAn)膜电极在 2 ,5-二巯基 -1 ,3 ,4 -噻二唑 ( DMc T)溶液中电化学处理或浸泡后的循环伏安 ( CV)曲线的变化规律 .实验结果表明 ,PAn膜电极在 DMc T溶液中进行电化学处理或浸泡过程可使DMc T进入 PAn膜内部与 PAn形成复合物 .PAn对 DMc T的电化学催化作用可能和二者之间形成的电子给体 -受体复合物有关 .该复合物的电化学氧化还原特性不同于 PAn和 DMc T,其氧化还原反应速率和可逆性均优于 DMc T
