O objectivo deste artigo é o de apresentar uma descrição das interrogativas-Q em Crioulo de Cabo Verde (CCV – variedade de Santiago). Mostrar-se-ão as estratégias de formação de interrogativas-Q que a língua disponibiliza, tentando avaliar o impacto da escolha de uma em detrimento de outra. A questão central deste artigo é saber se o processo de formação de interrogativas-Q em CCV envolve ou não movimento-Q, i.e., saber se numa dada posição sintáctica há Merge de uma palavra/sintagma-Q e se depois ele é movido por Attract para SpecCP para verificar, através de uma relação de Agree, os traços formais de Cº.

The Hippo Transducer YAP1 Transforms Activated Satellite Cells and Is a Potent Effector of Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma Formation.

The role of the Hippo pathway effector YAP1 in soft tissue sarcomas is poorly defined. Here we report that YAP1 activity is elevated in human embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS). In mice, sustained YAP1 hyperactivity in activated, but not quiescent, satellite cells induces ERMS with high penetrance and short latency. Via its transcriptional program with TEAD1, YAP1 directly regulates several major hallmarks of ERMS. YAP1-TEAD1 upregulate pro-proliferative and oncogenic genes and maintain the ERMS differentiation block by interfering with MYOD1 and MEF2 pro-differentiation activities. Normalization of YAP1 expression reduces tumor burden in human ERMS xenografts and allows YAP1-driven ERMS to differentiate in situ. Collectively, our results identify YAP1 as a potent ERMS oncogenic driver and a promising target for differentiation therapy.

The new law makes the following changes: (a) Reduces IPERS benefits not yet earned by regular members and raises contributions for them above the rate set in current law. The effects of dominance, regular inbreeding and sampling design on Q(ST), an estimator of population differentiation for quantitative traits.

To test whether quantitative traits are under directional or homogenizing selection, it is common practice to compare population differentiation estimates at molecular markers (F(ST)) and quantitative traits (Q(ST)). If the trait is neutral and its determinism is additive, then theory predicts that Q(ST) = F(ST), while Q(ST) > F(ST) is predicted under directional selection for different local optima, and Q(ST) < F(ST) is predicted under homogenizing selection. However, nonadditive effects can alter these predictions. Here, we investigate the influence of dominance on the relation between Q(ST) and F(ST) for neutral traits. Using analytical results and computer simulations, we show that dominance generally deflates Q(ST) relative to F(ST). Under inbreeding, the effect of dominance vanishes, and we show that for selfing species, a better estimate of Q(ST) is obtained from selfed families than from half-sib families. We also compare several sampling designs and find that it is always best to sample many populations (>20) with few families (five) rather than few populations with many families. Provided that estimates of Q(ST) are derived from individuals originating from many populations, we conclude that the pattern Q(ST) > F(ST), and hence the inference of directional selection for different local optima, is robust to the effect of nonadditive gene actions.

Etude de validation d'une version francophone du Q-Sort d'attachement de Waters et Deane = A validation study of the french adaptation of Waters and Deane's attachment Q-sort

Ce texte relate l'étude de validation d'une adaptation francophone du Q-Sort d'attachement de Waters et Deane (cette adaptation est présentée dans ce même numéro). Le Q-Sort rempli par les parents ne paraît pas tenir ses promesses de méthode alternative à la Situation étrange pour évaluer la qualité de la relation d'attachement. Cependant, lorsqu'il est rempli par un observateur extérieur, il semble mieux refléter la catégorisation des comportements dans la Situation étrange. Au travers du Q-Sort, les parents semblent décrire davantage le tempérament de l'enfant que la qualité de la relation d'attachement.
