TiO2 coatings were prepared on fused silica with conventional electron beam evaporation deposition. After TiO2 thin films were annealed at different temperatures for 4 h, several properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), spectrometer.. photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and AFM. It was found that with the annealing temperature increasing, the transmittance of TiO2 coatings decreased, and the cutoff wavelength shifted to long wavelength in near ultraviolet band. Especially, when coatings were annealed at high temperature, the optical loss is very serious, which can be attributed to the scattering and the absorption of TiO2 coatings. XRD patterns revealed that only anatase phase was observed in TiO2 coatings regardless of the different annealing temperatures. XPS results indicated that the fine chemical shift of TiO2 2p(1/2) should be attributed to existence of oxygen vacancies around Ti+4 ion. The investigation on surface morphology by AFM showed that the RMS of titania thin films gradually increases from less than 0.40 nm to 5.03 nm and it should be ascribed to the growth of titanium dioxide grain size with the increase of annealing temperature. This master's thesis consists of three parts. The first part is a review: The relationship between the chemical structures of natural C19-diterpene alkaloids and their NMR chemical shift data. The C19-diterpene alkaloids were divided into ten types according to their structures and NMR data. Some relationaships between configuration and NMR chemical shift have been discussed. The structures and distributions of more than 230 known C19-diterpene alkaloids and the assignments of 13C-NMR data of the 170 alkaloids of them were listed in tables. The second part is an experimental paper, Studies on the chemical constituents of Aconitum campylorrhynchum. Six compounds were isolated from the roots of title plant. One of them is a new alkaloid. It has been elucidaled as 8-acetyldolaconine by means of IR, MS, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR,DEPT,COSY,COLOC and on the basis of identification with aconosine by saponification. Other five compounds were idenfified as dolaconine, aconosine,β-sitosterol, palmitic acid and p-coumaric acid. The third part is also experimental paper: The alkaloids of Delphinium Kamaonense var.glabrescens. Two alkaloids were isolated from the roots of title plant. One of them, C22H22O6N,m.p.201-3℃,named glabredelphinine, was proved to be a new compound. Its structure has been established as 2(3)-dehydro-6-demethyl-18-delcosine by means of IR, MS, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR.The other one was identified as tatsiensine by comparising of IR, MS, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR data with that from the literatute.

A series of heteropolyphosphatotungstate catalysts with different W/P ratio were prepared by different means. P-31 MAS NMR spectra show every heteropolyphosphatotungstate contains several species with different W/P ratio. Combined with propylene epoxidation results, it is shown that the band at chemical shift ca. delta = 5 ppm maybe corresponds to a catalyst precursor which can be the most efficiently converted to the structure {PO4 [WO(O-2)(2)](4)}(3-). Characterization results of ICP show, the catalysts with low W/P ratio show a good reactivity for propylene epoxidation. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

The theory of chemical shift effect of substituent was applied to the assignment of the C-13 NMR spectra of the ethylene/propylene and ethylene/octene-1 copolymers. Using the parameters derived above and the DEFT technique, we then entirely assigned the C-13 NMR spectra of the ethylene/propylene/octene(-1) terpolymers synthesized in the presence of the same heterogeneous supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst, TiCl4/MgCl2/i-Bu3Al. The present paper also covers the terpolymer composition and the monomer sequence distributions of a series of ethylene/propylene/octene-1 terpolymers.

The IR spectrum and B-11 and Al-27 MAS NMR spectra of Al18B4O33 are presented and discussed in relation to the possible existence of boron atoms substituting for aluminum atoms. The IR spectrum shows that the strong vibrations of the BO3 groups are present in the 1 500 similar to1 200 cm(-1) region, and very weak bands of BO4 units art present in the region from 1 000 to 1 100 cm(-1). B-11 MAS NMR spectrum indicates that the strong signal for BOB units appears in the region from delta +5 to delta +20, and the very weak signal for BO4 units is at about delta -1, while Al-27 MAS NMR spectrum shows five peaks at about delta +62, +42.1, +14, -4.7 and -6.4, originating from AlO4, AlO4, AlO5, AlO6 and AlO6, respectively, These results reveal that there are minor BO4 units in Al18B4O33, indicating that a small amount of B atoms substitute for Al atoms in the 4-fold coordination.

The king cobra neuotoxin CM-11 is a small protein with 72 amino acid residues. After its complete assignments of H-1-NMR resonance's were obtained using various 2D-NMR technologies, including of DQF-COSY, clean-TOCSY AND NOESY, the secondary structure was analysed by studying the various NOEs extracted from the NOESY spectra and the distribution of chemical shifts. The secondary structure was finally determined by MCD as follows: a triple-strand antiparallel beta sheet with I20-W36, R37-A43 and V53--S59 as its beta strands, a short alpha helix formed by W30-G35 and four turns formed by P7-K10, C14-G17, K50-V53 and D61-N64.

Several isomeric aromatic diester-diacids may appear as a result of the opening selectivity of anhydride groups towards the alcohol. H-1 n.m.r. was thus used to characterize the isomeric structure and to quantify the isomer composition. It was found that the isomer ratios quantitatively correlate with electron affinity of bridged dianhydrides and is independent of the alcohol structure used. Furthermore, the H-1 n.m.r chemical shift of bridged diester-diacids was found to be a very sensitive probe of chemical nature of bridged groups and can be used as indices of the opening selectivity. The interactions of lanthanide ions and the Ln-DTPA (DTPA = diethylenetriaminepentaacetate) complex with di palmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) and dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DPPE) bilayers are studied by 2D NOESY and FT-Raman spectroscopy. Proton NMR spectroscopic results show that lanthanide ions combine with phosphate groups in the polar region of the outer layer of DPPC liposomes, leading to the separation in chemical shift of the proton signal of N(CH3)(3) The conformational change of the O-C-C-N+ backbone from the gauche conformer to the trans one is not found; i.e., the orientation of the polar headgroup is still parallel to the surface of the bilayers. The Ln-DTPA complex at low concentration in a pH 7.4 solution localizes far away from bilayers and thereby has little effect on the structure of bilayers. The FT-Raman spectroscopic results indicate that lanthanide ions affect strongly the fluidity of acyl chains of DPPE bilayers while the Ln-DTPA complex affects it slightly.

Amorphous samples of polyether ketone with cardo(PEK-C) have been studied in the solution state by C-13, H-1 high-resolution NMR, The H-1 and C-13 1D NMR spectra were assigned using two dimensional chemical shift correlated spectroscopy, 2D homonuclear correlated(COSY) and heteronuclear correlated (HETCOR) spectroscopy present important information. In this work, the structural units of PEK-C was determined by NMR. For some peaks, these assignments are confirmed by two dimensional long-range heteronuclear correlation experiments, A little modification is made on the original C-13 peak assignments for the main chain, The symmetry and the isotacticity of the chain structure for PEK-C are obvious on NMR data.

The special action of TEO solution was investigated by 1D, 2D-NMR in CDCl3. For the present measurements, when the concentration of TEO was higher in CDCl3, the chemical shift difference (Delta delta) and the peak number of C-13 NMR spectrum were changed with increasing the solution concentration, At lower concentration(< 3% V/V ), the peaks will be closed together for -CH2O- resonance carbon and it is not the appearance of the narrowed, When temperature was changed, the Delta delta value was contrary to the solvent effect, So, the shifts of the resonance carbon in the NMR spectra indicated clearly that the complex formation for the system of CDCl3, and TEO molecular interaction were affected by the experiment temperature and the solution concentration.

The larger chemical shift of cerium compounds was discoveried. The chemical states of the cerium compounds were identified by the chemical shifts of Auger energy. The changes in Anger energy and parameters are principally due to the changes in extra-atomic relaxation or polarization energy. The increase of the polarizable properties in anions of cerium compounds corresponds to the increase of Auger energy and parameter. The Auger parameter can be measured more accurately. Ce(CF3COO)(x)Cl-3-x was also studied by ESCA. It is shown that the electron density at cerium atom increases with the increase of x, while the electron density at oxygen atom decreases.

The substituent chemical shift (SCS) has been applied to the assignment of the C-13 NMR spectrum of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE). CPE of different chlorine contents has been employed and their sequence structure discussed. The results show that characteristic of CPE with medium chlorine content is the dichloroethane structure in molecular chain. SCS parameters have been obtained from the C-13 NMR spectra. It was found that the effects of chlorine content and temperature on SCS are negligible, but the substituent parameter S1 reduced by 0.39 ppm when C2Cl4 was added to solvent ODCB.

C-13 and H-1 NMR technique was used to study the interaction of Gly-Gly with heavy lanthanide cations Dy3+, Ho3+, Er3+, Tm3+ and Yb3+ in aqueous solution. The stability constants for the 1:1 and 1:2 complexes of Gly-Gly with Ho3+ and Yb3+ were determined from the titration curves of chemical shift versus concentration ratio of lanthanide to Gly-Gly. The solution structure of the Ln-Gly-Gly complex was analyzed based upon the C-13 and H-1 lanthanide induced shifts and the results show that in the complex Gly Gly is coordinated to the lanthanide ion through the carboxyl oxygens with the backbone of the ligand in an extended state.

(1)H NMR spectroscopy is used to investigate a series of microporous activated carbons derived from a poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) precursor with varying amounts of burnoff (BO). In particular, properties relevant to hydrogen storage are evaluated such as pore structure, average pore size, uptake, and binding energy. High-pressure NMR with in situ H(2) loading is employed with H(2) pressure ranging from 100 Pa to 10 MPa. An N(2)-cooled cryostat allows for NMR isotherm measurements at both room temperature ( approximately 290 K) and 100 K. Two distinct (1)H NMR peaks appear in the spectra which represent the gaseous H(2) in intergranular pores and the H(2) residing in micropores. The chemical shift of the micropore peak is observed to evolve with changing pressure, the magnitude of this effect being correlated to the amount of BO and therefore the structure. This is attributed to the different pressure dependence of the amount of adsorbed and non-adsorbed molecules within micropores, which experience significantly different chemical shifts due to the strong distance dependence of the ring current effect. In pores with a critical diameter of 1.2 nm or less, no pressure dependence is observed because they are not wide enough to host non-adsorbed molecules; this is the case for samples with less than 35% BO. The largest estimated pore size that can contribute to the micropore peak is estimated to be around 2.4 nm. The total H(2) uptake associated with pores of this size or smaller is evaluated via a calibration of the isotherms, with the highest amount being observed at 59% BO. Two binding energies are present in the micropores, with the lower, more dominant one being on the order of 5 kJ mol(-1) and the higher one ranging from 7 to 9 kJ mol(-1).
