Visões de República: ideias e práticas no Rio Grande do Norte (1880-1895)

A obra estuda as principais correntes político-ideológicas existentes no Rio Grande do Norte no período de transição entre o final do Império e os primeiros anos da República. Através de uma exaustiva pesquisa em fontes jornalísticas e documentais, o autor introduz o leitor no universo das ideias e práticas políticas que marcaram a tensa implantação do regime republicano no Brasil e especialmente no Rio Grande do Norte.

Responsabilidade social: visões e perspectivas de empresários do segmento industrial do Rio Grande do Norte

The theme Corporate Social Responsibility is relatively recent both in the academic field and in the business practice. Because of the lack of socialization of experiences and precision of concepts, there are gaps regarding the understanding of the subject and, also, how to conduct operations. This study just seeks to investigate such matter, focusing applications of social responsibility in business. It takes, as empirical field, winners of the PSQT - SESI Prize of Quality at Work in Rio Grande do Norte (2002-2007) in order to systematize the various approaches on the issue, aiming to reveal subjective visions and perspectives of the theme. It is characterized as a qualitative study, carried out by structured interview. The universe was composed by 15 companies. It was used analysis of content categorical as an axis for the interpretation of the information. Three approaches guided the analysis: Business Ethics, (normative); Business & Society (contractual); Social Issues Management (strategic). The findings are related in three ways: 1) reasons for the CSR practice; 2) the results obtained; 3) the means of CSR. It was found that the award participation occurs, mostly, linked to SESI invitations, so, as an articulated movement of industrial corporations in Brazil it occurs, also, because of the organizational commitment with the society and the possibility of internal and social growths and because of the importance attributed to the report as an instrument of consultancy. There are no indicators to check impacts of organizational interventions, in spite of the existence of planning for the actions. Social responsibility appears as a tool to reinforce the organizational image and to increase satisfaction of the employees. There is a tendency of large and medium firms to a contractual commitment while the small and the micros firms are on strategic or normative level. O capital fictício e crise econômica : visões para um novo paradigma

Este artigo tem o propósito inicial de conceituar o que é capital fictício e questionar seu papel na narrativa econômica ortodoxa. Outro objetivo é demonstrar os efeitos prejudiciais deste capital no Brasil. O capital fictício é toda rentabilidade proveniente da valoração derivada e artificial de um capital aplicado, já sem atuação na produção. Sua presença massiva sinaliza uma contradição interna no capitalismo atual, ainda que o pensamento convencional continue a se basear na crença de que crises econômicas são decorrentes de eventos exógenos e inesperados. A crise provém não de eventos aleatórios ou ao acaso, mas da dissociação entre circulação e produção, o que possibilita seu surgimento. Deste modo, a primeira parte deste artigo analisa a teoria do valor e do capital fictício como expressa por Marx e a heterodoxia; a segunda parte busca elucidar suas principais implicações para o caso brasileiro, e questiona a fé irrevogável que a ortodoxia tem na narrativa de crises supostamente surgidas de modelos de equilíbrio. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

Diagnóstico da Educação Ambiental no ensino de Geografia: Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí hidrographic basins

The goals of this study are to identify the potencialities avaiable in elementary public schools for the development of an educational process wich includes environmental issues helpping to find its integration with university in order to contribuite raises teaching levels for a better comprehension of regional environmental problems. Research data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with geography teachers analyising theirs activities and perspectives on the environmental crisis and environmental education. The study also offers sugestions for the devellopment of interdisciplinaires programs trying to contibute for the construction of citizenship showing the importance of better comprehension from environmental problems which includes physical, economics, social, political and cultural aspects.

Compreensão da sexualidade por jovens com diagnóstico de deficiência intelectual

The study describes the comprehension of concepts about sexuality by youths diagnosed with intellectual deficiency, during classes on sexual education. The analysis of selected episodes from video transcriptions of five classes (Human Body, Kiss, Flirting, Coitus, Condom/STD) showed: the appropriation and understanding of concepts, partial difficulties of comprehension, and inhibition. The analysis of the transcripts indicated that all students were attentive to the classes, participated in the proposed tasks, and answered the questions. The observed signs of inhibition and the expression of values were similar to those observed in other youngsters, indicating the appropriation of culturally established values. The obtained evidences contrast with mythical visions related to sexuality in these youngsters, and suggest more studies about their competences.

As dimensões da linguagem em livros didáticos de inglês para o Ensino Fundamental I

This article aims at discussing and articulating views of language under sociocultural, dialogic and discourse perspectives, in order to present a theoretical framework as far as the analysis of textbooks of English as a foreign language for the Brazilian Ensino Fundamental I is concerned. Due to the limited number of studies in this field, to the still considerably structural approach of the English language teaching and learning in our country nowadays and to the important mediation role textbooks play in language education, we believe our work can contribute positively to the construction of critical and multiple literacies, which, in turn, can support an active and transformative educacional process in the present times.
