Eficientização energética em prédios públicos: um desafio aos gestores municipais frente aos requisitos de governança e sustentabilidade

Este artigo ressalta a importância da eficientização energética em prédios públicos como uma política pública a ser adotada pelos gestores municipais, tanto pelo seu efeito demonstrativo de modernidade e alinhamento aos princípios de sustentabilidade como pela indução do desenvolvimento socioambiental, tecnológico e do mercado. São apresentadas as razões e os desafios para enfrentamento dos problemas relacionados ao alto consumo de energia elétrica em prédios públicos municipais, além de um conjunto de propostas objetivas à adoção de uma nova abordagem para a gestão da demanda e do consumo nessas instalações, destacando-se o estudo e diagnóstico realizado para o governo do município de São Paulo e exemplos ou casos de sucesso, a serem explorados e seguidos.

Prostitutas entendidas: o que entender?

In this research, we propose a discussion from that observed in our field of work that women are prostitutes and who self-define understood. We check these women have sex with men by means of work and with women from the relationship of affection. We analyzed the practice of sexual activity as another possible expression of sexuality. There are many studies that deal with issues around the theme of prostitution and homosexuality in regard to various aspects and disciplines. These new studies indicate about sexuality in a privileged place discussing values associated with the intimacy of the modern person, but also suggest that permeate discussions elements underlying the identity of women who have sex with women and men, the latter being, sexual activity mediated through the employment relationship by the financial interest, because according to our informants, prostitution is a job. From the reports of our participants / informants your answers fit the various brands that define the social field of possibilities of the sexual practices of individuals, raising questions about the origin and social class, family history, stage of life they are set of gender relations in the universe in which they live. Maracatus Solar e Reis de Paus: tradição e modernidade no carnaval de rua em Fortaleza

This is an ethnographic and comparative study of the Maracatus Solar (2006) and Reis de Paus (1960), whose aim was to verify what is ancient and traditional in the new maracatu practiced by the guild Solar and conversely, what is new or modern in the old maracatu ritualized by guild Reis de Paus. It is worth noting that through this case study it is also intended to ethnographically observe and better understand the processes of ruptures and continuities between modernization and tradition, and the relationship between the global and the local. The communication system, the dancing, the music, the costumes and the loas (letters) were analyzed using the technique of participant observation as well as secondary materials such as newspapers, blogs and magazines. The interviews were open, non-directive, but recorded to facilitate understanding the speech of revelers. The research has shown that all the symbolic elements of aesthetic expression of the maracatu are permeated by clashes of historical contexts and of political representation, which, in another instance, also enunciates a fight of micro-community resistance regarding the renewal process and the social development that plague modern megalopolis. It is In this interim, between modernity and tradition that today it can be spoken about the existence of hybrid identity in the maracatu regarding a context mediated by the overall above mentioned values and customs specific of the new generations. However, one can not deny that the forms of negotiations with modernity also require the establishment of a link with the specific singularity of a popular culture that is not excluded, but also should not get invaded by the idea of authenticity. Therefore, performing this study was above all an opportunity to understand also the community life in the city outskirts, understanding society, culture and everyday social relations maintained between humans that produce and make it all happen. The Solar and Reis de Paus do not join in opposition between themselves nor by their similarity. A criança e a cidade: as transformações da infância numa Natal moderna

Engenharia nos sertões nordestinos: o Gargalheiras, a Barragem Marechal Dutra e a comunidade de Acari, 1909-1958

Qualidade de vida na terceira idade: um conceito subjetivo

Tendo-se em conta a expectativa de vida cada vez mais alta, vários estudos têm sido desenvolvidos de modo a contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade de vida na terceira idade. Objetivou-se conhecer a opinião dos idosos de um município de porte médio do interior paulista sobre o que é qualidade de vida, através de uma pergunta aberta que foi incluída como parte de um inquérito populacional sobre estilo e qualidade de vida. A análise da referida questão foi realizada através do método de Análise de Conteúdo. Posteriormente calcularam-se as freqüências das categorias obtidas, agrupadas segundo o método de Ward, e em seguida os idosos foram agrupados segundo o método de k-médias. Os resultados indicaram a existência de três grupos de idosos segundo sua definição de qualidade de vida: o primeiro valorizou a questão afetiva e a família; o segundo priorizou a obtenção do prazer e conforto; o terceiro poderia ser sintetizado como o idoso que identifica a qualidade de vida colocando em prática o seu ideário de vida. Sugere-se que, na implementação de ações, se objetive melhorar a qualidade de vida do idoso, levando-se em conta as magnitudes e as diferenças de cada grupo.

Notas sobre Siegfried Kracauer, Walter Benjamin e a Paris do Segundo Império: pontos de contato

Trata-se de mostrar a originalidade crítica de Siegfried Kracauer diante da experiência da modernidade estética e de discutir as afinidades estético-teóricas de Kracauer e Benjamim ao analisar a Paris da segunda metade do século XIX, o Segundo Império, em particular, como fenômeno originário da sociedade de massas, da indústria cultural e do entretenimento e, sobretudo, do nazi-fascismo. Kracauer durante seu exílio parisiense (1933-41) escreveu uma biografia da sociedade: Jacques Offenbach e a Paris de sua época (Jacques Offenbach und das Paris seiner Zeit). Obra inovadora pelo seu enfoque da história do presente e com pontos de contatos com a Obra das Passagens (Passagen-Werk) ou Paris capital do século XIX de Walter Benjamin.

Trabalho destruído e funcionalização do lazer: possíveis relações em tempos de alta modernidade.

The possible relationships between leisure and labor and its association with the formation of high modernity as a historic and social phenomenon in a historic - dialectic perspective is discussed in this text. A bibliographic research on public documents such as journals, books, monographs and iconography's materials from classic and contemporary authors was carried out. It was concluded that leisure was equipped during the development of modernity and plays a revitalizing role for the labor force and construction of a discipline that is needed for a flexible and heterogeneous labor nowadays which characterize the contemporary societies.
