La Amazonia Legal y el Cerrado en el contexto de la migración interna en el Brasil en el período 1995-2010

Este ensayo tiene dos objetivos principales. El primero, revisar de forma sumaria y ampliar las consideraciones formuladas hasta ahora por los especialistas sobre el proceso migratorio interno del Brasil. El segundo, detallar el comportamiento de las regiones Centro-Oeste y Norte, que, además de representar una buena parte de la “Amazonia Legal”, desempeñaron un importante papel en los procesos de ocupación y desconcentración demográfica del Brasil. Los datos analizados muestran que en la década de 2000 se registró una notoria reducción de la migración entre estados, tendencia que se explica en el contexto de las transformaciones de la sociedad brasileña durante ese período. Específicamente en el caso de las regiones Centro-Oeste y Norte se observa también que el descenso del crecimiento demográfico revela la existencia de importantes cambios en el proceso de ocupación, sobre todo en lo que se refiere a la migración interna. A partir de los datos de los censos demográficos de 2000 y 2010, en el estudio se sostiene que varias transformaciones ocurridas en el proceso de ocupación económica de estas regiones parecen haber intervenido en el fin de la era de la ocupación de las fronteras agrícolas en el Brasil.

Notas de Población Vol.40 N° 96

Este número de la Revista Notas de población reúne cinco artículos que tratan diversos temas sociodemográficos de gran interés. El primer artículo, de Suzana Cavenaghi, se centra en la salud reproductiva de los jóvenes. En específico, presenta un panorama regional de la situación actual de la salud reproductiva de mujeres de 15 a 19 años y también analiza la fecundidad de esas mujeres. En el segundo artículo de Jorge Rodríguez Vignoli se examinan dos efectos de la migración interna en grandes ciudades de América Latina. En el tercer artículo, de Ignacio Pardo, Andrés Peri y Mario Real, se analiza el tránsito de la educación al trabajo en el Uruguay. El siguiente artículo, Magda Ruiz, Andreina Duarte, y Sebastián Carrasco aborda los antecedentes sobre el uso de preguntas retrospectivas para la aplicación de métodos indirectos destinados a la estimación de la mortalidad infantil en América Latina, Finalmente, José Marcos Pinto da Cunha en su investigación nos presenta un resumen de las consideraciones formuladas hasta ahora por los especialistas sobre el proceso migratorio interno del Brasil.

Produção de chicória da amazônia cultivada sob densidades de cultivo e poda do pendão floral

Chicory is a vegetable Amazon unconventional flavor that has attracted the attention of researchers for its great versatility, which makes it a promising vegetable. However, jobs are scarce in the literature on cultivation techniques for the species. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pruning tassel floral and different spacing, the yield on Amazon chicory. Three different spacings: E1 = 0.15 x 0.15 m, with 44 plants m(2), E2 = 0.20 x 0.20 m, with 25 plants m(2), and E3 = 0.25 x 0.25 m, with 16 plants m(2), with and without pruning floral tassel. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design in a split plot design 3 x 2, with six replications. The characteristics evaluated were: number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight of shoots, number of tassel floral tassel floral fresh weight, yield (kg m(-2)), and leaf area index (LAI). The largest production of chicory Amazon was obtained in plants grown at a spacing of 0.25 x 0.25 m subjected to pruning floral tassel. The highest yield for Amazon chicory was obtained in plants grown at a spacing of 0.15 x 0.15 m submitted pruning floral tassel.

Revision of the Neotropical moth genera Mallodeta Butler and Erruca Walker, revalidated (Noctuidae, Arctiinae, Arctiini, Euchromiina)

Mallodeta Butler and Erruca Walker, revalidated, are redescribed and revised. Mallodeta henceforth includes only its type-species, Glaucopis (Lycorea) clavata Walker, and Erruca is resurrected with seven species: E. deyrolii Walker (type-species), E. consors (Walker), new combination, E. erythrarchos (Walker), new combination, E. cardinalis (Hampson), new combination, E. hanga (Herrich-Schaffer), new combination, E. cruenta (Perty), new combination and E. sanguipuncta (Druce), new combination. Six new synonyms are established, four specific and two generic (junior synonyms in parentheses): Zygaena capistrata Fabricius (=Mallodeta cubana Gaede), Glaucopis (Lycorea) clavata Walker (=M. simplex Rothschild), Erruca deyrolii Walker (=Laemocharis aecyra Herrich-Schaffer and Glaucopis (Hyda) sortita Walker), and Erruca Walker (=Aristodaema Wallengren and Rezia Kirby). Lectotypes are designated to the following species: Erruca deyrolii Walker, Laemocharis deyrollei Herrich-Schaffer, Laemocharis hanga Herrich-Schaffer, Laemocharis aecyra Herrich-Schaffer, Laemocharis norma Herrich-Schaffer, Cosmosoma cardinalis Hampson and Mallodeta sanguipuncta Druce. Illustrations of adults and male and female genitalia of Mallodeta and Erruca are provided, as well as a key to the species of the latter.

Delay nonlinear boundary conditions as limit of reactions concentrating in the boundary

In this work, we are interested in the dynamic behavior of a parabolic problem with nonlinear boundary conditions and delay in the boundary. We construct a reaction-diffusion problem with delay in the interior, where the reaction term is concentrated in a neighborhood of the boundary and this neighborhood shrinks to boundary, as a parameter epsilon goes to zero. We analyze the limit of the solutions of this concentrated problem and prove that these solutions converge in certain continuous function spaces to the unique solution of the parabolic problem with delay in the boundary. This convergence result allows us to approximate the solution of equations with delay acting on the boundary by solutions of equations with delay acting in the interior and it may contribute to analyze the dynamic behavior of delay equations when the delay is at the boundary. Effects of Aspergillus spp. exogenous fibrolytic enzymes on in vitro fermentation of tropical forages

BACKGROUND: Cellulose and hemicellulose are quantitatively the most important structural carbohydrates present in ruminant diets. Rumen micro-organisms produce enzymes that catalyse their hydrolysis, but the complex network formed by structural carbohydrates and lignin reduces their digestibility and restricts efficient utilisation of feeds by ruminants. This study aimed to produce two enzymatic extracts, apply them in ruminant diets to determine the best levels for ruminal digestibility and evaluate their effects on in vitro digestibility. RESULTS: In experiment 1 a two-stage in vitro technique was used to examine the effects of different enzymatic levels of Aspergillus japonicus and Aspergillus terricola on tropical forages. Enzyme addition had minor effects on corn silage at the highest enzymatic level. In experiment 2 an in vitro gas production (GP) technique was applied to determine apparent in vitro organic matter digestibility and metabolisable energy. The addition of enzymes in GP showed interesting results. Good data were obtained using sugar cane and Tifton-85 hay supplemented with extracts of A. japonicus and A. terricola respectively. CONCLUSION: Overall, the study suggests that addition of crude extracts containing exogenous fibrolytic enzymes to ruminant diets enhances the effective utilisation of ruminant feedstuffs such as forages. IgG Autoantibody Response against Keratinocyte Cadherins in Endemic Pemphigus Foliaceus (Fogo Selvagem)

It is well established that autoantibodies against desmoglein 3 and desmoglein 1 (Dsg1) are relevant in the pathogenesis of pemphigus vulgaris and pemphigus foliaceus, including its endemic form fogo selvagem (FS). Isolated reports have shown that in certain patients with these diseases, autoantibodies against other desmosomal cadherins and E-cadherin may also be present. The goal of this investigation was to determine whether FS patients and normal individuals living in endemic areas possess autoantibodies against other desmosomal cadherins and E-cadherin. By testing a large number of FS and endemic control sera by ELISA, we found a consistent and specific autoantibody response against Dsg1 and other keratinocyte cadherins in these individuals, which is quite different from healthy individuals from the United States (US controls). Overall, the highest correlations among the autoantibody responses tested were in the endemic controls, followed by FS patients, and lowest in the US controls. These findings suggest that multiple, perhaps cross-reactive, keratinocyte cadherins are recognized by FS patients and endemic controls.

Protonenleitung in imidazolhaltigen Materialien als Modellsysteme für wasserfreie Brennstoffzellenmembranen

Es wird ein neues Konzept für ein protonenleitendes Polymer vorgestellt, das ohne eine zweite, flüssige Phase auskommt. Es beruht darauf, basische Gruppen (Imidazol) über flexible Spacer kovalent an ein Polymerrückgrat zu binden und durch Dotierung mit einer geringen Menge Säure Ladungsträger (Protonen) in dieses System einzubringen.Um die für die Leitfähigkeit und ihren Mechanismus verantwortlichen Größen zu identifizieren, wurde ein Satz von niedermolekularen Modellverbindungen definierter Struktur und hoher Reinheit synthetisiert und im reinen Zustand sowie nach Dotierung mit geringen Mengen Säure umfassend charakterisiert. Untersucht wurden die thermischen Eigenschaften, die Leitfähigkeit, die Diffusion der jeweiligen Modellverbindung sowie ggf. der zugesetzten Säure, das Protonierungsgleichgewicht und die dielektrischen Eigenschaften. Insbesondere wurden durch den Vergleich von Leitfähigkeits- und Diffusionsdaten unter Anwendung der Nernst-Einstein-Beziehung Rückschlüsse auf den Leitmechanismus gezogen.Es wurden Leitfähigkeiten von bis zu 6.5E-3 S/cm bei 120°C erreicht. Der Anteil der Strukturdiffusion (vergleichbar mit dem Grotthus-Mechanismus in Wasser) an der protonischen Leitfähigkeit betrug bis zu über 90%. Als entscheidende Faktoren für die Leitfähigkeit wurden die Glastemperatur und, mit geringerer Priorität, der Imidazolgehalt des Materials identifiziert. Die Temperaturabhängigkeit aller untersuchten Transportgrößen ließ sich durch die Vogel-Tamman-Fulcher-Gleichung exzellent beschreiben.Die vorgestellten Daten bilden die Grundlage für den Entwurf eines entsprechenden Polymers.
