Im Oktober/November des vergangenen Jahres ergab sich während der 483. Reise von FK „Solea“ ein im Vergleich zu den vier Vorjahren hoher Fangindex von 220 Kabeljau Gadus morhua je Stunde (Weber 2001). Die Fische hatten eine Länge von 15 bis18 cm und waren besonders in Küstennähe Ostfrieslands anzutreffen. Durch unsere Langzeituntersuchungen zur Ökologie der Flussseeschwalbe Sterna hirundo im Wattenmeer sind wir bereits im Juni des Jahres 2001 auf den starken Jahrgang des Kabeljaus aufmerksam geworden und können die Vermutung von Weber bestätigen, dass die Kabeljaus den Sommer über im Wattengebiet herangewachsen sind.

Aiming for price stabilisation Danish, German and Dutch brown shrimp fisheries agreed on weekly catch limitations for the years 1998 and 1999. This resulted in fishing effort reduction of 18 % of the total number of fishing trips in 1998 and up to 24 % in summer. In that period highest abundance of young plaice occurs in the Wadden Sea which is the fishing area of the brown shrimp fleets of Germany and the Netherlands. Consequently as a side effect a reduction of the total annual by-catch especially of young plaice must have occurred. According to formerly conducted EU-studies and investigations the by-catch reduction due to the agreed catch limitations should have led to survival of millions of young plaice. They give a potential of some extra catch in coming years which is 2,5 % of the total TAC of plaice in the North Sea. Compared to the German TAC in year 2000 the gain equals 44 %. The catch limitations effect on by-catch reduction in 1998 was in the same order of magnitude of the one achievable by technical measures in net selection applied in that fishery and research. Neue Chance für Scholle und Kabeljau in der Nordsee

Two surveys in the German Bight revealed a relatively good recruitment for plaice and cod. However, with the current high effort and uneconomic way of fishing, most of these fish will end as discards. To protect young plaice during the winter months an increase of the mesh opening in beam trawls within the plaice box is suggested. Therefore, the fishermen are called upon to make a more considerated selection of their nets.

Mídia e Consumo: a afirmação do consumo de cursos MBA nas páginas do Boa Chance

O campo de estudos da Comunicação é conhecido pela sua interdisciplinaridade, o que permite analisar objetos relacionados a outras áreas do conhecimento por meio da perspectiva em que os diferentes tipos de mídia lhes apresentam. Utilizando palavras, imagens e sons os meios de comunicação colaboram para a produção dos significados de uso e apropriação de diferentes produtos e serviços disponíveis para o consumo. Por meio de um intercâmbio com o campo de estudos de consumo e tratando de um produto oriundo do campo da Educação, os cursos de MBA, este trabalho analisa as mensagens produzidas pelo Boa Chance, suplemento publicado pelo jornal O Globo. Para compor o referencial foram considerados teóricos do campo da Comunicação, Consumo, Educação e Representação Social. Além de oferecerem subsídios para refletir sobre o consumo desse tipo de produto, as idéias e conceitos apresentados também colaboram para compor as categorias elaboradas para a análise das matérias publicadas. Para aprofundar um pouco mais sobre os cursos de MBA foi traçado um histórico desse tipo de ensino, desde o seu surgimento nos Estados Unidos, passando pela sua ascensão a partir da década de 1940 até a sua chegada ao Brasil. A forma como os cursos adentraram a pauta dos cadernos de emprego, em especial, do Boa Chance, também é abordada. Entrevistas com repórteres e editores que trabalharam ou que ainda estão no caderno permitiram identificar o contexto em que as pautas relacionadas a esse tema se tornaram mais frequentes. A partir disso, foi possível compreender que o assunto começou a ganhar mais espaço na mesma medida que cresce a oferta de vagas pelas instituições, no começo dos anos 2000. Para entender de que maneira os meios de comunicação abordam para esse tipo de consumo e também quais são as representações que ele produz sobre os MBAs, foram analisadas 26 edições do caderno recolhidas entre 2009 e 2010.

This manual has been produced by members of the national acoustics group (NAG) and represents the first in a series of outputs designed to promote co-ordination and consistency in Agency hydroacoustic surveys. It is designed as a field guide for Agency staff operating the SIMRAD EY500 portable scientific echosounder. It should be simplistic enough for the newcomer to EY500 to be able to set up and run a mobile hydroacoustic survey with some knowledge of the supporting theory. It should act as guidance for standardisation of survey procedures providing a concise list of settings and recommendations that can be used as a quick reference guide in the field. This manual condenses 5 years of practical experience of surveying fish populations using Simrad hardware and software for surveying large rivers and still waters throughout England and Wales. This document should be used as a companion to the manufacturers instruction manual and not act as a substitute for it.

Fisheries management: what chance on coral reefs?

Failures of fishery management to control fishing effort globally and how this affects the coral reef fisheries are discussed. The use of marine reserves in coral reef fisheries management is also emphasized.

South & West Cumberland Fisheries Advisory Committee 2nd December, 1974

This is the report from the South and West Cumberland Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 2nd December 1974. The report looks at the Water Bailiffs establishment, including the organisation and the duties of both the Fisheries Inspector and the Senior Bailiff. The report also covers the report by the Unit Fisheries Officer on fisheries activities. This includes stocking on Devoke Water, biological work carried out in the Greta and Glenderamackin tributaries, information on the fishing of migratory fish, trout and coarse fish and fisheries prosecutions. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.
