El diagnóstic de insuficiència renal aguda (IRA) és complicat, encara i això els estudis mostren incidències elevades de IRA en els pacientes ingressats en UCI respecte a la resta de hospitalitzats. Així mateix la mortalitat del pacient amb IRA en UCI és molt més elevada respecte a la resta de pacients. La gran majoria dels que sobrevisquin presentaran curació complerta de la IRA. L´objectiu del treball és descriure les característiques dels pacients ingressats a la UCI amb IRA que van precisan teràpia reemplaçament renal, analitzar els canvis evolutius dels pacients i el tractament rebut durant els anys passats i determinar els factors de risc associats a mortalitat i recuperació de la funció renal.

We use historical data that cover more than one century on real GDP for industrial countries and employ the Pesaran panel unit root test that allows for cross-sectional dependence to test for a unit root on real GDP. We find strong evidence against the unit root null. Our results are robust to the chosen group of countries and the sample period. Introducción: El recorte del gasto en el sector sanitario está agudizando la escasez de recursos, repercutiendo en la eficacia organizacional y en el bienestar laboral de los profesionales de la medicina (Blanch, 2010; Cervantes, 2009). Según el modelo de demandas y recursos laborales (Demerouti, Bakker, Nachreiner y Schaufeli, 2001), el trabajo médico se caracteriza por una alta demanda laboral (sobrecarga de trabajo y presión asistencial) y una acusada escasez de tiempo, que perjudica el uso de recursos de tarea, organizacionales y sociales, favoreciendo la activación del proceso de erosión de la salud. Objetivo: Analizar la influencia del recurso tiempo en el bienestar laboral de los profesionales de la medicina en el contexto sanitario actual. Método: Se realizaron 134 entrevistas personales a personal medico de distintos hospitales públicos de Barcelona en el contexto de una investigación de Bienestar laboral general (Blanch y cols., 2010), mediante preguntas abiertas situadas en la evolución de las condiciones de trabajo en su hospital. Posteriormente se trascribieron esas entrevistas para realizar un análisis cualitativo de contenido mediante el programa Atlas. Ti V6.0. Resultados: Los factores de riesgo psicosocial y los indicadores saludables están altamente influenciados por el factor tiempo. La disponibilidad del tiempo está relacionada con la satisfacción de rol, ambiente de trabajo, trabajo en equipo, apoyo social y relación médico paciente. Conclusiones: La organización sanitaria para llegar a ser saludable, entre otros aspectos, debe de tomar el recurso tiempo como un elemento clave para el bienestar del personal y la gestión del ambiente social positivo. Report for the scientific sojourn at the Université de Bourgogne, France, from July until October 2007..Surlie ageing after second fermentation is a fundamental operation in the production of quality sparkling wine like Cava and Champagne. Recently, the importance of the interaction between wine and lees cell surface has been reported. Cell surface properties depending on wall biochemical composition are major determinants in microbial interactions, having important repercussions in several technological aspects. Sorption and flocculation are especially important in sparkling wine production, and are governed by distinct cell surface properties. The aim of the present research carried out during the four months of the stage was to know the implication of lees surface modifications occurring during surlie ageing in sparkling wine quality and elaboration. The relationship between physico-chemical properties such as hydrophobicity, charge and electron-donor characteristics, and the yeast surface sorption capacities, we determined these factors in a model system. Then, real industrial lees samples were investigated. The surface properties of sparkling wine lees from the same strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae were characterized according to the time of surlie ageing, and their possible influence on lees sorption and flocculation capacity was evaluated. La Llei Integral de Mesures contra la Violència de Gènere estableix una sèrie de mesures legislatives que tenen per objecte el reconeixement dels drets de les víctimes de la violència, enfortir la sensibilitat ciutadana davant de la violència de gènere, instaurar un sistema de serveis socials d’atenció i de recuperació de les víctimes, garantir els seus drets econòmics i laborals, instaurar un sistema institucional de tutela, determinar un marc penal i processal i garantir la coordinació de tots aquells recursos que es dediquen a aquesta qüestió. Conscients de la importància d’aquesta Llei, de les dificultats que deriven de la seva aplicació, així com de la nostra experiència en la pràctica forense en casos de violència domèstica i de gènere, neix la idea de realitzar la recerca d’aquest estudi. Una recerca que pretén establir, a partir de l’anàlisi dels relats de dones víctimes de violència de gènere en la relació de parella, criteris de credibilitat que permetin validar les seves declaracions. Criteris obtinguts a partir de les mateixes paraules de les víctimes. Partint d’una metodologia mixta, quantitativa i qualitativa, hem obtingut uns resultats que ens han permès definir un sistema de criteris de credibilitat genuïns i discriminadors. Una discriminació obtinguda a partir de la comparació de les declaracions de dues mostres: víctimes reals i víctimes simulades. I, fruit d’aquesta comparació, la discontinuïtat narrativa, els detalls estranys, la reproducció de converses, les correccions espontànies, l’ambivalència i ambigüitat vers l’agressor, la violència indirecta, suscitant por i terror, la por a les represàlies, la imposició i intimitat del secret, la indefensió, l’evolució de la violència i progressió de la asimetria de poder, la dualitat de la conducta domèstica / imatge social de l’home, el control ampli masculí cognitiu-conductual, la descripció contextualitzada de microviolències, les estratègies de supervivència de la dona i el relat inhibit amb vergonya, han resultat criteris de credibilitat de les dones víctimes de violència de gènere que ens permetran validar el seu relat.

Esta investigación contrasta los relatos de dos muestras de mujeres. La primera, víctimas reales de violencia de género en la relación de pareja; la segunda, deliberadamente ofrecen relatos falsos sobre esta misma problemática. Los resultados muestran una diferencia cualitativa significativa en base a los criterios de credibilidad definidos. Al mismo tiempo, el estudio ha encontrado otros criterios de credibilidad genuinos, que conforman el discurso explicativo que permite validar sus declaraciones.

This article aims to present the conceptual and methodological framework in which models techniques for species and ecosystems distribution are developed. An historical review of concepts behind these techniques is made as well as the presentation of the major methodological steps involved in these tests. A discussion on how these approaches are useful for the development of new questions in the field of biogeography and biological conservation is generated. Finally, an application of distribution modeling techniques, using the specie Beilschmiedia miersii (belloto Del Norte) as a study case, is presented. This conceptual and methodological review as well as the example applied, seeks to clarify the usefulness and potential of distribution models techniques, with the objective to go forward in biogeography research and thus, farther progress in understanding spatial and temporal patterns of organism's distribution

Performance prediction and application behavior modeling have been the subject of exten- sive research that aim to estimate applications performance with an acceptable precision. A novel approach to predict the performance of parallel applications is based in the con- cept of Parallel Application Signatures that consists in extract an application most relevant parts (phases) and the number of times they repeat (weights). Executing these phases in a target machine and multiplying its exeuction time by its weight an estimation of the application total execution time can be made. One of the problems is that the performance of an application depends on the program workload. Every type of workload affects differently how an application performs in a given system and so affects the signature execution time. Since the workloads used in most scientific parallel applications have dimensions and data ranges well known and the behavior of these applications are mostly deterministic, a model of how the programs workload affect its performance can be obtained. We create a new methodology to model how a program’s workload affect the parallel application signature. Using regression analysis we are able to generalize each phase time execution and weight function to predict an application performance in a target system for any type of workload within predefined range. We validate our methodology using a synthetic program, benchmarks applications and well known real scientific applications.

Different interferometric techniques were developed last decade to obtain full field, quantitative, and absolute phase imaging, such as phase-shifting, Fourier phase microscopy, Hilbert phase microscopy or digital holographic microscopy (DHM). Although, these techniques are very similar, DHM combines several advantages. In contrast, to phase shifting, DHM is indeed capable of single-shot hologram recording allowing a real-time absolute phase imaging. On the other hand, unlike to Fourier phase or Hilbert phase microscopy, DHM does not require to record in focus images of the specimen on the digital detector (CCD or CMOS camera), because a numerical focalization adjustment can be performed by a numerical wavefront propagation. Consequently, the depth of view of high NA microscope objectives is numerically extended. For example, two different biological cells, floating at different depths in a liquid, can be focalized numerically from the same digital hologram. Moreover, the numerical propagation associated to digital optics and automatic fitting procedures, permits vibrations insensitive full- field phase imaging and the complete compensation for a priori any image distortion or/and phase aberrations introduced for example by imperfections of holders or perfusion chamber. Examples of real-time full-field phase images of biological cells have been demonstrated. ©2008 COPYRIGHT SPIE
