O controle químico das plantas daninhas na cultura da soja RR com glifosate vem se destacando nos últimos anos no Brasil, necessitando de pesquisas com essa biotecnologia. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a eficácia do glifosate aplicado de forma isolada e seqüencial na produção e no teor de ácido chiquímico na cultura de soja RR. Os tratamentos foram: glifosate a 720 e 960 g i.a.ha-1 e chlorimuron-ethyl a 20 g i.a.ha-1; glifosate em mistura com chlorimuronethyl: 720+2,5 e 960+2,5 g i.a.ha-1 e glifosate aplicado seqüencialmente: 720/720; 960/720 e 960/720/720 g i.a.ha-1 com intervalos de 15 dias entre as aplicações, além de testemunhas capinada e não capinada. O delineamento experimental empregado foi em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos não causaram fitotoxidade à cultura, apresentaram eficácia no controle de Bidens pilosa, Euphorbia heterophyla e Raphanus raphanistrum, exceto o chlorimuron-ethyl a 20 g i.a. ha-1 no controle de E. heterophyla e R. raphanistrum. Ipomoea nil foi eficientemente controlada apenas pelas aplicações seqüenciais de glifosate (720/720;960/720 e 960/720/720 g i.a.ha-1). Não se verificou acúmulo do ácido chiquímico nas plantas de soja tratadas com glifosate. O manejo das espécies de plantas daninhas na cultura de soja RR, com aplicações isoladas ou seqüenciais de glifosate, pode ser uma alternativa de controle químico a ser recomendada aos sojicultores.

The present work has as objective the development of ceramic pigments based in iron oxides and cobalt through the polymeric precursor method, as well as study their characteristics and properties using methods of physical, chemical, morphological and optical characterizations.In this work was used iron nitrate, and cobalt citrate as precursor and nanometer silica as a matrix. The synthesis was based on dissolving the citric acid as complexing agent, addition of metal oxides, such as chromophores ions and polymerization with ethylene glycol. The powder obtained has undergone pre-ignition, breakdown and thermal treatments at different calcination temperatures (700 °C, 800 °C, 900 °C, 1000 °C and 1100 °C). Thermogravimetric analyzes were performed (BT) and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), in order to evaluate the term decomposition of samples, beyond characterization by techniques such as BET, which classified as microporous materials samples calcined at 700 ° C, 800 º C and 900 º C and non-porous when annealed at 1000 ° C and 1100 º C, X-ray diffraction (XRD), which identified the formation of two crystalline phases, the Cobalt Ferrite (CoFe2O4) and Cristobalite (SiO2), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) revealed the formation of agglomerates of particles slightly rounded;and Analysis of Colorimetry, temperature of 700 °C, 800 °C and 900 °C showed a brown color and 1000 °C and 1100 °C violet

Introducción. El ácido úrico sérico (AUs) elevado es considerado marcador de riesgo cardiometabólico. En escolares con obesidad de Nuevo León no ha sido estudiado a profundidad. Objetivo. Estudiar los niveles de AUs y su asociación con indicadores clínico-metabólicos y dietéticos en escolares con obesidad e IMC normal. Material y métodos. Estudio retrospectivo, transversal, correlacional, en 530 escolares (6-12 años) autoseleccionados del programa de Obesidad Infantil FaSPyN-UANL, 322 con obesidad y 208 con IMC normal1 . La medición de los indicadores clínicos, metabólicos y dietéticos se realizó por personal certificado2 . Hiperuricemia se consideró con AUs > 5.5 mg/dL3 . Ingesta dietética4 se determinó con el recordatorio de 24 horas y software Food Processor. Se aplicaron técnicas de normalidad (Kolmogorov-Smirnov), prueba t para dos muestras, ANOVA de dos factores, U de Mann Whitney y regresión logística binaria, en software SPSS. Resultados. Se encontró diferencia significativa (p-valor < 0.05) para género, edad y nivel medio de AUs entre escolares con obesidad e IMC normal. 24.3% de escolares con obesidad presentaron hiperuricemia. Existieron diferencias significativas entre escolares con y sin hiperuricemia para la mayoría de los indicadores. La asociación del AUs con indicadores: obesidad (OR = 4.5), género masculino (OR = 2.6), edad (OR = 2.3), triglicéridos (OR = 1.3), ingesta de: proteínas (OR = 1.7), azúcares (OR = 1.5) y fibra dietética (OR = 0.6) fueron significativos (p-valor < 0.05). Conclusiones. Los escolares con obesidad, de género masculino y mayor edad presentaron niveles más elevados de AUs. La frecuencia de hiperuricemia fue mayor a lo reportado en otras poblaciones. Los niveles de AUs se asociaron principalmente con la obesidad, género masculino, mayor edad, triglicéridos séricos elevados, ingesta excesiva de proteínas y de azúcares, e ingesta deficiente de fibra dietética, lo que destaca la importancia del AUs como marcador de riesgo metabólico y nutricio.

With the advances in medicine, life expectancy of the world population has grown considerably in recent decades. Studies have been performed in order to maintain the quality of life through the development of new drugs and new surgical procedures. Biomaterials is an example of the researches to improve quality of life, and its use goes from the reconstruction of tissues and organs affected by diseases or other types of failure, to use in drug delivery system able to prolong the drug in the body and increase its bioavailability. Biopolymers are a class of biomaterials widely targeted by researchers since they have ideal properties for biomedical applications, such as high biocompatibility and biodegradability. Poly (lactic acid) (PLA) is a biopolymer used as a biomaterial and its monomer, lactic acid, is eliminated by the Krebs Cycle (citric acid cycle). It is possible to synthesize PLA through various synthesis routes, however, the direct polycondensation is cheaper due the use of few steps of polymerization. In this work we used experimental design (DOE) to produce PLAs with different molecular weight from the direct polycondensation of lactic acid, with characteristics suitable for use in drug delivery system (DDS). Through the experimental design it was noted that the time of esterification, in the direct polycondensation, is the most important stage to obtain a higher molecular weight. The Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrograms obtained were equivalent to the PLAs available in the literature. Results of Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) showed that all PLAs produced are semicrystalline with glass transition temperatures (Tgs) ranging between 36 - 48 °C, and melting temperatures (Tm) ranging from 117 to 130 °C. The PLAs molecular weight characterized from Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), varied from 1000 to 11,000 g/mol. PLAs obtained showed a fibrous morphology characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)

The environmental impact caused by the disposal of non-biodegradable polymer packaging on the environment, as well as the high price and scarcity of oil, caused increase of searches in the area of biodegradable polymers from renewable resources were developed. The poly (lactic acid) (PLA) is a promising polymer in the market, with a large availability of raw material for the production of its monomer, as well as good processability. The aimed of this study was synthesis PLA by direct polycondesation of lactic acid, using the tool of experimental design (DOE) (central composite rotatable design (CCRD)) to optimize the conditions of synthesis. The polymer obtained was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), viscosimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and size exclusion chromatography (SEC). The results confirmed the formation of a poly (lactic acid) semicrystalline in the syntheses performed. Through the central composite rotatable design was possible to optimize the crystallization temperature (Tc) and crystallinity degree (Xc). The crystallization temperature maximum was found for percentage of catalyst around the central point (0,3 (%W)) and values of time ranging from the central point (6h) to the upper level (+1) (8h). The crystallization temperature maximum was found for the total synthesis time of 4h (-1) and percentage of catalyst 0,1(W%) (-1). The results of size exclusion chromatography (SEC) showed higher molecular weights to 0,3 (W%) percent of catalyst and total time synthesis of 3,2h

With the new discoveries of oil and gas, the exploration of fields in various geological basins, imports of other oils and the development of alternative fuels, more and more research labs have evaluated and characterized new types of petroleum and derivatives. Therefore the investment in new techniques and equipment in the samples analysis to determine their physical and chemical properties, their composition, possible contaminants, especification of products, among others, have multiplied in last years, so development of techniques for rapid and efficient characterization is extremely important for a better economic recovery of oil. Based on this context, this work has two main objectives. The first one is to characterize the oil by thermogravimetry coupled with mass spectrometry (TG-MS), and correlate these results with from other types of characterizations data previously informed. The second is to use the technique to develop a methodology to obtain the curve of evaluation of hydrogen sulfide gas in oil. Thus, four samples were analyzed by TG-MS, and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). TG results can be used to indicate the nature of oil, its tendency in coke formation, temperatures of distillation and cracking, and other features. It was observed in MS evaluations the behavior of oil main compounds with temperature, the points where the volatilized certain fractions and the evaluation gas analysis of sulfide hydrogen that is compared with the evaluation curve obtained by Petrobras with another methodology
