This work deals with net radiation (Q*) estimates as function of solar radiation (K↓) for the Jaboticabal region in Sao Paulo State. In the same way shows a comparison between measured and Penman estimates net radiations. The data were 207 pairs of net and solar radiation obtained in a net radiometer and a Eppley Piranometer. The results show a good agreement between Q* and K↓ for two periods: spring-summer and autumn-winter. The Penman's equation for Q* underestimates the values for any station with albedo of 0.25. -English summary

This paper deals with an integrated study concerning the evaluation of the coal deposit at Cerquilho (Sao Paulo State) in the upper part of the Tubarao Group. Palaeogeographical studies from other authors describe the genesis of these deposits as a deltaic system overlapped by a marine transgressive sequence. The study applied four methods for ore reserve estimation (isolines, blocks, polygones and triangles), besides statistical and geostatistical methodology. The technological characterization assays suggest the application for the coal in cement and ceramics industries. The applied methodology showed reserves estimated around 1 400 000 ton. The isolines method tend to underestimate the amount of coal, on the other hand, the kriging method shows a tendency to overestimate the results. The data from the polygonal method are closest to mean values. For the thickness estimation the results close to the mean values are those from the isolines. -after English summary

This paper reports the composition change of the dmf-teeth index, outcome from dental health program for the 3 to 6 year old pre-school children population, enrolled in kindergartens in Araraquara-SP, in 1988. The program performance promotes a major contribution of the f component to the dmf-teeth index.

Migmatites, high-grade gneisses and granitoids represent the most important Precambrian rocks of Sao Joao da Boa Vista region. Structures are interpreted as due to low-angle oblique non-coaxial ductile shear, developed under conditions of amphibolite facies. Transcurrent ductile shear zones and associated drags modify the foliation and lineations orientations. A first phase of migmatization related to anatexis seems to be developed before or early during the thermo-tectonic process. A second one is syntectonic, and represents the main regional phase. Joints and faults represent the brittle features, the faults marked by cataclastic rocks and intense retrometamorphism along the main zones. -from English summary

The results indicated potassium as the most important for the discrimination between groups of samples, followed by magnesium, calcium and sodium. As the area has been under intense sugar cane industrialisation, the soil and the river waters of the region receive a high content of vinasse rich in potassium. -from English summary
