Identificação por PCR dos alelos-S associados à compatibilidade gametofítica em ameixeira japonesa

O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar e caracterizar molecularmente os alelos-S de cultivares de ameixeira japonesa e verificar a compatibilidade gametofítica entre estes. Foram utilizados dois pares de iniciadores específicos na amplificação dos alelos via PCR, em 18 cultivares: Pluma 7, Gulf Rubi, Blood Plum, Wickson, América, Santa Rosa, Rosa Mineira, Estrela Púrpura, Amarelinha, The First, Harry Pieckstone, Santa Rita, Seleção 16, Seleção A26 (Burbank), Seleção 21, Seleção 19, Methley e Simka. As condições da PCR e as combinações de oligonucleotídeos iniciadores utilizadas permitiram a identificação de alelos-S nas cultivares, bem como a indicação dos polinizadores mais compatíveis. As cultivares América e Santa Rosa, bem como Blood Plum, Wickson, Rosa Mineira, Estrela Púrpura e Seleção 21 apresentam incompatibilidade total entre si, por compartilharem os mesmos alelos.

Una pintura d'Antoni Viladomat i Manalt (1678-1755) a Manresa : l'Assumpta de Santa Maria de l'Alba

This painting with an exceptional iconography of the Assumption of the Virgin with All the Saints, was saved from a altarpiece in the church of Santa Maria de l'Alba in Manresa, which was burnt during the Spanish Civil War. The article attributes this painting to Antoni Viladomat i Manalt (1678-1755), one of the most relevant figures in the Catalan artistic scene in the 18th century, and it dates it to the latter years of his extensive artistic career. An analysis of the work shows that the Catalan painter incorporated some figurative elements that he borrowed from an engraving of the Swiss engraver, Jakob Frey (1681-1752), interpreted from a canvas of the Italian painter Sebastiano Conca (1680-1764). This helps to relate the canvas of the Barcelona painter-based on his previous figurative work with high Roman baroque- to the new proposals of the so-called Roman barrochetto. In addition the study hopes to offer the reader an artistically cultural view of Antoni Viladomat, openly concerned by the novelties that constantly reached Catalonia by means of the engravings

Performance of 'Rocha' and 'Santa Maria' pears as affected by planting density

The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of 'Rocha' and 'Santa Maria' pears at two planting densities. The experiment was carried out during the 2011/2012, 2012/2013, and 2013/2014 growing seasons, in one-year-old orchards (2011/2012) of 'Rocha' and 'Santa Maria' pears, trained in a central-leader system and planted in two densities (2,000 and 4,000 trees per hectare). The assessed parameters were: production per hectare, production per tree, yield efficiency, number of fruit per tree, average fruit weight, trunk diameter increment, fruit firmness, and soluble solid contents. The cumulative yield of 'Rocha' is greater at the higher planting density, whereas the yield efficiency of 'Santa Maria' increases at the lower planting density, as the trees get more mature. Trunk diameter of 'Rocha' also increases at the lower planting density. However, fruit quality parameters in both cultivars are little affected by planting density.

Documentació arqueològica del Fortí del Rei (S. XVIII): intervenció en el solar núm. 54 de l'Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina de Tarragona

L'exercici de l'arqueologia urbana a Tarragona ha permès la documentació de restes arquitectòniques del fortí del Rei, bastit en el context de la Guerra de Successió. L'element més significatiu és la documentació d'una galeria i/o camí protegit que connectava aquest fortí amb el de l'Oliva.

Efeito da omissão de macronutrientes no crescimento, nos sintomas de deficiências nutricionais e na composição mineral em gravioleiras (Annona muricata)

Com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito da omissão de macronutrientes no crescimento, nos sintomas de deficiências nutricionais e na composição mineral em gravioleiras, conduziu-se experimento em casa de vegetação, mediante a técnica do elemento faltante. O delineamento foi o inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições e sete tratamentos, sendo completo (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S e micronutrientes) e com omissão individual de N, P, K, Ca, Mg e S. As omissões dos macronutrientes afetaram o crescimento em altura, diâmetro das plantas e produção de matéria seca, quando comparados ao tratamento completo. Com base nos teores em g/kg dos macronutrientes nas folhas, encontraram-se os seguintes valores adequados nos tratamento completo e com omissão: N = 14,70 e 8,82; P = 0,92 e 0,47; K = 12,35 e 2,62; Ca = 14,11 e 3,44; Mg = 3,59 e 1,09; S = 5,32 e 2,30.
