The customer orientation is not a recent philosophy in Marketing. However, some economic sectors are not sensitive to such trends, mainly in Brazil. Nowadays, the quality-marketing integration has become concrete in CSM - Customer Satisfaction Measurement models, scarcely used in Brazil. The purpose of this research is to analyse the customer service in Brazilian airlines, aiming to enhance the corporate image and the passengers loyalty.

This research has aimed to study the ethical patterns that guide the managers or owners of advertising agencies in Brazil and in other forty-two countries. Their knowledge or affinity to the concepts of ethics may indicate the degree of responsibility that they assume when dealing with the communication over products, services and ideas, in all of the different markets throughout the world. The comparative analysis of the opinions gathered in the research, in relation to several ethics parameters, has led to the observation that the codes of ethics do not seem to be sufficient to inform an advertising professional with respect to all of the situations and issues he deals with. A more profound knowledge of Ethics fundamental principles over nature and commercial life becomes mandatory, in order to reduce the uncertainties in a moral decision making process. Besides the questionnaires sent to professionals, data related to ads in national and foreign magazines were gathered in several institutions. The monitoring of ads in radio, television and outdoors allowed the evaluation of ongoing ethical parameters in Brazil as far as these communication means.

In the recent years Corporate Social Action (CSA) has become more and more relevant to corporate context. The aim is to benefit both poor communities and the donnor companies, as it meets the needs of their salient stakeholders. Nevertheless, there still exists considerable scepticism concerning CSA. In order to become a solid management practice, it is critcal to evidence the attained results. Up to now, the focus has been on process evaluation, that is, on the policies companies are adopting. Literature revision has shown a great need of studies related to results identification in this field. Therefore, using stakeholders` framework (according to Wood, 1991; Donaldson and Preston, 1995; Hopkins, 1997; Hamil, 1999), we have developped a methodology to evaluate CSA results, based on public and private effectiveness criteria. As we applied it to assess Xerox social action in Brazil we were able to identify the attainment degree of expected results related to the benefitted community (Mangueira) and also to some Xerox salient stakeholders (employees and clients).

This study shows how the Industrial Cluster of garments in Valença, RJ ¿ comprised of micro and small enterprises ¿ contributes to overcome the problems left by the declining period of the textile industry. At first, the city took advantage of its talent for textile work and turned to the clothing sector, which now relies on garment factories, subcontractors, cooperatives and laundries in order to create jobs. There is institutional support, but the analysis of the situation identified the need for higher involvement of cluster players, as well as a higher interaction among them to help their own development. In regard to public and private institutions, there is room for steps to guide informal companies that find it difficult to afford labor, financial, and environmental costs towards formalization, the offer of management and labor skill programs, as well as entrepreneurs¿ awareness about the acquisition of modern-technology machinery. It is important to encourage higher participation of Valença firms in the national fashion events, since this draws attention to the name of the city, discloses the work that is carried out there, and attracts new businesses. The entry of Valença companies in the fashion arena of the southern region of Rio de Janeiro state is beneficial, especially to make them better prepared for the Fashion Rio/Fashion Business event. Informality as a way out of the unemployment problem is a growing trend in Valença, as well as in most of Brazilian cities. In this sense, the entrepreneurs need to find favorable steps to make them feel motivated to formalize their businesses.
