Concordância espaço-temporal e intensidade de competição em grupos de baleia jubarte: evidências de uma série temporal de 10 anos

The theory of sexual selection states that individuals more capable of attracting, selecting and competing for partners are more successful on reproduction than the less fit individuals. Competition for sexual partners can be observed in different populations of humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae). These large cetaceans migrate seasonally from feeding areas, in high latitudes, to breeding areas, in low latitudes, where they spend the winter. During the breeding season females with and without calves are escorted by transient competitive groups of males. Seeking reproductive success in the same group, various males exhibit aggressive behaviors searching for proximity to the disputed female. Breeding areas are usually located in warm and shallow waters that provide greater security to newborn calves. The Abrolhos Bank, in the Bahia State, is the main breeding area of the species in Brazil. In this study, we used data collected in this region between 2003 and 2012. We tested the hypothesis that there is temporal fluctuation in the abundance of competitive groups and, thus, there is variation in the levels of competition among males during the breeding season. We expected to find higher competition at the beginning of the season since there are a large number of males competing for a small number of females available for mating, because some of them would still be pregnant with calves conceived on the previous year. As the pregnant females give birth to their calves and can again get into heat, the competition among males would be softened, represented by a smaller number of individuals in competitive groups and a larger number of groups sighted. Revisão dos procedimentos operacionais padrão da farmácia-escola Prof. Dr. Antonio Alonso Martinez conforme RDC 67/07

O Projeto de Iniciação Científica foi desenvolvido na Farmácia-Escola Prof. Dr. Antônio Alonso Martinez, uma unidade auxiliar da Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas da UNESP-Araraquara e que é parte integrante do NAC (Núcleo de Atendimento à Comunidade). Por ser vinculada à uma instituição pública ela serve como modelo para toda a comunidade, além de ser um estabelecimento de ensino, pesquisa e extensão. Por isso, ela tem o compromisso de cumprir com todas as exigências legais de maneira exemplar, garantindo a qualidade dos produtos manipulados. Realizou-se a revisão e adequação dos Procedimentos Operacionais Padrão (POPs) presente no Manual de Boas Práticas de Manipulação da Farmácia-Escola, baseando-se nas diretrizes da RDC 67/07 (Anexo I - Boas Práticas de Manipulação em Farmácia) e também uma inspeção na rotina dos processos envolvidos na manipulação e dispensação dos produtos manipulados. Fez-se a aplicação do Roteiro de Inspeção para Farmácia - Anexo VII da RDC 67/07 com a finalidade de constatar e avaliar o cumprimento das Boas Práticas de Manipulação em Farmácias (BPMF). Verificou-se que a Farmácia-Escola ainda não está em conformidade com todos os critérios estabelecidos pela RDC 67/07, mas que mesmo com as dificuldades enfrentadas para se adequar ela atende à quase todos os itens considerados imprescindíveis. Segundo as farmacêuticas responsáveis, medidas corretivas vêm sendo estudadas para que aos poucos todos os itens constantes na Resolução em questão sejam cumpridos.

This paper addresses the three-phase induction motor by a thermal analysis of its operation, under the gaze of the standards of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards that deal with working arrangements (operating cycles) defined by appropriate tests and for each use of the motor basis of this study, emphasizing especially the fact of the first three cycles are the cycles with greater possibilities of use for scaling a three-phase induction motor for the main industrial processes, will also be made an analysis of the reasons why the three-phase induction motors have a loss of power at altitudes above 1000 m above sea level and some methods of how to define how a three phase induction motor can be used in one of the first three working arrangements

Internacionalização pelo Envolvimento de Atores Externos no Conflito Colombiano: Atuação da OEA na Desmobilização de Grupos Paramilitares na Colômbia

Internationalization of the Colombian Conflict by the Involvement of External Actors: Action by the OAS in Demobilizing Paramilitary Groups in Colombia This paper discusses the effects of the internationalization of the Colombian armed conflict, understood as the participation of foreign actors in programs regarding the resolution of the conflict. Through an analysis of the involvement of multilateral and state actors, the authors argue that this process involved the dilemma between unilateralism and multilateralism. The empirical analysis is centered on the intervention of conflict mediation mechanisms from the Organization of American States (OAS), specifically the Mission to Support the Peace Process (MAPP/OAS), whose scope is aimed at demobilizing paramilitary groups in Colombia.

Escrubagem da bauxita de Paragominas - PA. Parte 1: influência de variáveis operacionais na desagregação da bauxita

The aim of this study was to investigate the bauxite scrubbing process on samples from Miltonia 3, a Vale operation in the State of Para, Brazil. The experimental program included the design of a standard laboratory test, from which parameters were derived for predicting the operation of a scrubber in steady state conditions. Three main variables were selected for the laboratory experimental program using the factorial design technique. These were load fraction, residence time and rotation speed. The amount of fines was determined through screening both the feed and the product of the scrubbing test. The former was considered to be a characteristic material, while the second was the dependent variable, i.e. the result of the scrubbing process. According to experiments, the load fraction was the most important variable for the scrubbing process.

Impactos Operacionais das Alterações no Contrato Futuro de Milho da BM&F-Bovespa na Mitigação de Risco

O mercado de milho possui importante participação no cenário agropecuário nacional, pela relevância dentro da indústria de carnes. Destacam-se as estratégias de comercialização do grão, em especial as relacionadas à mitigação do risco de preço com o uso de contratos futuros. Objetiva-se identificar e interpretar os efeitos causados pela modificação no contrato futuro do milho negociado na BM&F-Bovespa, que em setembro de 2008 passou de entrega física para liquidação financeira, sobre o desempenho do mercado futuro do grão comercializado. Avaliam-se a liquidez dos contratos, a volatilidade dos preços futuros e físico do milho, bem como a convergência da base. Identificaram-se como possíveis efeitos da alteração contratual o aumento da liquidez do contrato futuro de milho e a redução da volatilidade dos preços, além da melhoria na convergência da base. Os resultados alinham-se com a teoria e evidenciam impacto positivo da implementação da liquidação financeira no contrato futuro de milho.

Grupos de pesquisa em educação em Enfermagem: linhas de pesquisa e produção científica em três regiões do Brasil

Este estudo objetivou identificar as temáticas das linhas de pesquisa (LP) e da produção científica publicada pelos Grupos de Pesquisa em Educação em Enfermagem (GPEE) das regiões Norte, Nordeste e Centro-Oeste do Brasil. Pesquisa documental, descritiva e exploratória. Identificaram-se 12 GPEE, 45 linhas de pesquisa e 448 artigos científicos, 60% dos quais foram publicados em revistas A, B1 e B2. Nesses GPEE, 36% das LP foram sobre educação, porém somente 25% das publicações abordaram este assunto, enquanto 34% das LP enfocaram o tema cuidado, que foi objeto de 44% das publicações. Há necessidade de repensar a organização dos GPEE a partir de linhas e projetos de pesquisa para favorecer a consolidação da temática da Educação em Enfermagem na produção de conhecimentos da área.

Análise vibracional de compostos de coordenação de niquel(II): uma abordagem ao ensino dos grupos pontuais

This paper presents an IR and Raman experiment executed during the teaching of the course "Chemical Bonds" for undergraduated students of Science and Technology and Chemistry at the Federal University of ABC, in order to facilitate and encourage the teaching and learning of group theory. Some key aspects of this theory are also outlined. We believe that student learning was more significant with the introduction of this experiment, because there was an increase in the discussions level and in the performance during evaluations. This work also proposes a multidisciplinary approach to include the use of quantum chemistry tools.

Representação política, representação de grupos e política de cotas: perspectivas e contendas feministas

Este artigo foca no debate sobre representação política, representação especial de grupos e política de cotas com o objetivo de destacar os seus argumentos principais e mais controversos, explorando suas inconsistências, problematizando-os e estabelecendo um diálogo entre eles. Será considerado até que ponto o argumento por maior inclusão de membros de grupos sociais não hegemônicos em processos político-decisórios, através de mecanismos como as cotas, pode ser justificado desde uma perspectiva normativa. Dado o caráter polêmico do conceito de representação política e da noção de identidades e interesses de grupos, em que se justificaria essa demanda? Esta discussão será conduzida a partir de uma análise sobre o conceito de representação política, da noção de interesses, identidades e perspectivas de grupos, e de uma análise sobre os principais argumentos apresentados a favor das cotas e contra elas. O artigo foca na representação política das mulheres, estabelecendo assim um diálogo permanente com e entre perspectivas feministas.
