Identificação de antocianidinas em acerolas do Banco Ativo de Germoplasma da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco

As antocianinas, pigmentos responsáveis pela cor vermelha da acerola madura, foram extraídas e purificadas de 12 genótipos cultivados no Banco Ativo de Germoplasma da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, com o objetivo de determinar a sua composição. As antocianinas e suas respectivas agliconas, obtidas pela hidrólise ácida, foram separadas por cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência (CLAE) usando uma coluna de fase reversa (C18). A identificação foi realizada pela ordem de eluição e pelos tempos de retenção dos padrões de referência e das antocianidinas obtidas por hidrólise ácida de uvas Isabel, Patrícia e Red Globe, ameixa, cebola roxa, morango e da casca de manga Tommy Atkins. Os cromatogramas obtidos demonstraram que o perfil antociânico dos genótipos de acerola é relativamente simples, apresentando de três a cinco picos comuns entre eles. Após hidrólise ácida foram obtidas somente duas agliconas identificadas como cianidina e pelargonidina. Comparando os cromatogramas das antocianinas e das antocianidinas e, avaliando os tempos de retenção, foi constatada a presença de antocianinas com diferentes graus de glicosilação e ausência de ácidos acilados em suas moléculas e que as agliconas identificadas, cianidina e pelargonidina, encontravam-se em diferentes proporções nos genótipos estudados.

Food access and consumption in a rural settlement in Castanhal, PA, Brazil

Abstract The study aimed to assess the food accessibility and consumption among families in the Cupiúba rural settlement, in the city of Castanhal, Pará, Brazil. It was found that the access to food is worrying and indicated that most families are in food insecurity conditions. Moreover, income and food safety level were associated. The consumption of the settler families comprises mainly high-energy, low-nutrient content foods, characterized by the low intake of fruits and vegetables and the introduction of processed foods with high energy density and sugar-added beverages, although the traditional dietary habits (rice and beans) are still present. This configures a diet at risk for important nutritional deficits, obesity, and many non-communicable chronic diseases.

Doença renal crônica no Peru: um desafio para um país com uma economia emergente

Resumo A cobertura das terapias de substituição renal (TSR) no Ministério da Saúde do Peru é pobre, com distribuição desigual de TSR em nível nacional, e é possível que até 50% da população não tenha acesso a algum tipo de TSR. É preciso uma abordagem multissetorial para resolver este problema que não é consistente com a melhoria econômica do país.

Economia e retórica: o capítulo brasileiro

Considering the rise of the discussion about the rhetoric of economics at the beginning of the 1980's, the paper aims to show: 1) the relation between the origin of this issue in the academic field and the ascension of the so labeled "neoliberalism" as a doctrine and a collection of capitalist practices perceived at the same time; and 2) the consequences produced by this idea, overseas born, when it meets a peripherical reality like the Brazilian one. In the first case, we are going to show the importance of Hayek's reflections about the inadequateness of neoclassical discourse to the aim of ideologically legitimate the market society. In the second we are going to point out that, taking the consequences of the rhetoric project in Brazil, it can be seeing as an additional chapter of "the ideas out of its place" that comes marking the Brazilian history of the ideas.

A China como um duplo pólo na economia mundial e a recentralização da economia asiática

China as a double pole in the world economy and the recentralization of the Asian economy. The extraordinary growth of Chinese trade that occurred in the last years changed China’s role on world and regional economy. As a major producer of industrial consumer goods to OCDE countries, China has negatively affected many Asian competitors but as an expansive market China became the main source of growth to Asian countries. This new dimension was achieved after the Asian crisis of 1997 by an economic expansion led by public investment. After considering the Chinese balance of payment position and its industrial strategy this paper investigates this double dimension of China on trade and its influence on Asian countries.
