As concepções urbanísticas que impulsionaram o desenvolvimento do capitalismo e a reprodução da força de trabalho em São Paulo: sanear e excluir

This article aims to rank the main concepts in vogue in the city of São Paulo who contributed to the formulation of a shared urban oriented capitalist development and reproduction of the workforce. This way, it will discuss the main issues raised in the period, which is between the first decades of the XX Century to the end of the 1950s, trying to foresee how they worked as engineers and architects to incorporate the urbanistic proposals from Europe and the United States. And then, we will present, on the first four sections of this article, points of view that effectively impacted the paulista urban thought of the first half of the XX century: Sanitarism, pendular conception between the Mesologic Theory and the Microbian Theory; the Historicist formulation of Camillo Sitte; Howard´s garden-town and The French Experience. Our analyses were formulated having as a reference the broad systematization of bibliography and documents performed at the Arquivo Histórico Municipal (Intermediário) de Araraquara (Historical Municipal Archive from Araraquara), consultations at the the books of the library of the biblioteca da Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da USP (USP Architecture and Urbanism College) and at the Faculdade de Ciências e Letras da UNESP, Araraquara-SP( College of Sciences and Languages from UNESP, campus Araraquara). The analisys of the performed research show that one urbanistic torrent at São Paulo State with clear influences from the conceptions that led the urbanistic debates in the first half of the XX Century. Although these conceptions compose a painting of urban transformations at São Paulo city and noticeably in some inland cities, previously to the solidification of a whole proposition for the city that was later called of Directive Plan.

This article discusses the preservation of cultural heritage, particularly the historical and architectural, in small municipalities in São Paulo State, in particular the Central Administrative Region. It pointed out that urban planning and master plans may represent an opportunity for such municipalities definitely incorporate preservation, locally. It also presents a small survey of considerations of national heritage at the municipal level and by CONDEPHAAT and IPHAN.

Esta reflexão se propõe estudar os procedimentos pelos quais esses indícios habilitam a reconstrução da trama e a costura com a história do país que os autores propõem por caminhos originais.

Gestão democrática na escola: as impressões dos participantes do programa progestão

This paper is a sampling of an extensive research which analyzed and assessed the Distance Learning Program for Qualification of School Managers (Progestão) carried out in three schools, which preserved the same management team during the program. Progestão provided continuing and inservice development for public school managers by means of distance and presential types of learning. This paper deals with the concept of democratic management understood by the proponents of Progestão, the training team (trainers and multipliers), and the managers assisting the course (principals, vice principals, and pedagogical supervisors). Three issues that check the understanding of the democratic management concept were analyzed, as well as how those participants implement it in schools. The research is based on the qualitative approach, which has an evaluating character. It discusses the profile assigned to school management since the amendment of the State and the passing of the Law of Policies and Principles of Education (LDB)/96, besides pointing out the difficulties to support democratic management dissociated from other school practices.

A educação física no ensino médio em escolas particulares: as perspectivas de alunos, diretores, coordenadores e professores de educação física

Although physical education is regulated by law and recognized as a mandatory component of basic education class, which includes high school, there are many reports that these classes do not actually happen. Such evidence shows the situation experienced by the author of this study, which brought this research to the attention. Therefore, the objective was to investigate and understand the perspective of students, physical education teachers, principals and coordinators forward their ideas to this reality, about the high school physical education in private schools. The research made use of qualitative approach, guided by an exploratory study. The technique was undertaken to collect the questionnaire with open and closed questions, involving 263 students enrolled in high school of four schools in two cities in the state of Sao Paulo and also the director, coordinator and professor of physical education of each one of these institutions, resulting in 12 education professionals. The categories of analysis were defined as: 1. Regarding physical education in high school, 2. The occurrence of physical rducation in high school, 3. Content and dynamic strategies developed in class 4. Student participation in class. The results show that despite, although some schools have physical education classes, there are still many students who do not take them. This reveals a double challenge to the area, which is: although it is essential that such a curriculum component is included in the grades (respecting the regional law legal system) that is not enough students that actually participate in it. As teachers, coordinators and directors recognize the importance of effective physical education, there are numerous of factors that deserve consideration to better understand this reality. Diagnóstico físico-ambiental em planos diretores: um relato de experiência

The Urban Plans are technical and politician tools and their elaboration must have citizen involvement. Thus, several aspects must be taken into account while preparing it including both technical and communitarian urban development besides environmental and sanitation features. The paper aim is to present the applied techniques and to discuss the results obtained from physical and environmental diagnostic made to prepare Rio Claro and Iracemápolis Urban Plans. From the presented experiences it was possible to identify adequate technical proceedings as well as to verify general problems that can emerge during Urban Plan diagnostic phase.
