Uma proposta de psicoterapia breve para paciente com escoriação psicogênica

Psychogenic Excoriation is a psychodermatosis characterized by skin alterations connected to mental processes, which are more common in women. It generates a considerable physical and psychosocial discomfort to the patient, because of the skin lesions. These patients assume to injure their own skin, and it differentiates this diagnosis from the factual dermatitis. This acknowledgement facilitates the insertion of these patients in psychotherapeutic processes, including fast psychotherapy, which can benefit them, especially in hospital contexts such as hospital ambulatories specialized in dermatology. Fast dynamic psychotherapies are described, analyzed and recommended to a psychogenic excoriation patient while introducing the process plan indicated to her. It relates to the clinical study of cases with medical records, psycho interviews and results of the FPI (Factor Personality Inventory). Based on these data, a fast psychotherapy is suggested with defined focus, aim and time, with a therapeutic plan according to what’s recommended in this type of treatment. The main objective is the symptom alleviation besides self-knowledge and insights, clarifying the most important identified psychodynamic conflicts. It’s also suggested that the suggested fast psychotherapy process could well result in important therapeutic gains to the analyzed patient.

Políticas públicas e direitos de crianças e adolescentes: o papel da mídia na expansão da cidadania

This paper presents results of an evaluation of the quality of the coverage of issues associated to the preservation of rights of children and adolescents in the eight main newspapers of major cities of Bauru (Sao Paulo State) administrative region, from August 2008 to March 2009. In a total of 389 assessed stories, 66% portrayed acts of legal infraction and violence with children and adolescents as victims or perpetrators, with a fragmented and superficial perspective; 34% are greater approaches about public policies aimed at the preservation of social rights. The results show the existence of a smaller number, yet significant, of stories which presented extended and more contextualized approaches. From a general view, we can point out that the contribution given by the media as a form of vigilance over the execution of public policies has been limited, which justifies the concern of demanding, from the mass media, measures to fulfill the role attributed to them by contemporaneous democracies to the strengthening of citizenship.

This article brings a contribution to the comprehension of the path of recognizing the rights of children and adolescents in Brazil, in which there have been seen symbolic representations that often are created, modified or popularized by the media. Newspapers with the largest circulation in the state of São Paulo in a period after almost 20 year of the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA) coming into force were investigated with framing analysis. Results suggest that the ECA faces obstacles to its consolidation, in the form of superficial and fragmented media coverage of events that should be contextualized in relation to public policies and their specific understanding of causes and possible solutions applicable.

Liver cirrhosis (LC) is a disease with high mortality rates and its only definitive treatment is the orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). Unfortunately, not all patients have access to OLT and many of them end up dying on the transplant waiting list. The use of branched chain amino acids (BCAA) is widely known as an effective treatment for improving the quality of life of these patients. For the first time, in this paper we documented a great improvement of clinical and laboratorial tests of a patient treated with BCAA, which allowed him to be out of the transplant waiting list. In addition to the increase of the MELD score, the patient achieved restabilization of body weight and recovery of the quality of life registered by the SF-36 questionnaire.

Enfermagem cuidando de paciente adulto e família no processo de morte em sala de emergência

The purpose of the study was to understand the experience of nursing professionals on the care provided to adult patients and relatives who experience the dying process in an emergency room. Statements of 12 nursing professionals, being 8 technicians and 4 registered nurses of the emergency room of a high-complexity university hospital were analyzed. Data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews and evaluated according to Bardin’s content analysis. As a result, the theme entitled the relative’s mourning process emerged with two categories: alterity as an opening and suffering as a limit. when subjectivity, which was revealed under the principle of alterity, permeated the subjects’ actions, the nursing practices were targeted at the patients and their relative’s needs, but suffering as a limit imposed distancing by the professionals during care provision, even when it was perceived as necessary.

Direitos humanos e formação de educadores: algumas reflexões

O trabalho apresenta algumas reflexões relativas à inserção e à discussão sobre Direitos Humanos no processo de formação de educadores, particularmente no curso de Pedagogia. Assume como procedimento metodológico a pesquisa bibliográfica, dialogando com alguns textos contemporâneos sobre Educação em Direitos Humanos (EDH) e documentos oficiais (do campo educativo) que contribuem para enfatizar a aproximação entre processo formativo e Direitos Humanos; apresenta, ainda, o relato de alguns aspectos do trabalho desenvolvido junto às alunas de Pedagogia. Considerando que a prática educativa se realiza a partir de concepções fundantes (antropológicas, sociológicas, éticas), a reflexão sobre os princípios da Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos pode contribuir para a sensibilização e a formação de educadores atentos ao reconhecimento das condições necessárias para a vida com dignidade, bem como para a promoção de vivências que respeitem a diversidade humana e cultural.
