Efeito modulador da estratégia vacinal BCG/DNAhsp65 na encefalite autoimune experimental(EAE)

Tanto o BCG (Bacilo de Calmette-Guérin) quanto a DNAhsp65 são vacinas contra tuberculose, porém além da atividade protetora desejável ambas apresentam atividade imunomoduladora. Seguindo a linha de pesquisa de nosso laboratório que investiga a atividade da DNAhsp65 sobre doenças autoimunes, avaliamos o efeito da associação destas vacinas sob a forma de uma estratégia vacinal tipo prime-boost (priming com BCG seguida de booster com DNAhsp65), sobre o desenvolvimento da Encefalite Autoimune Experimental (EAE), que é modelo animal de esclerose múltipla. Ratos Lewis fêmeas foram divididos em grupos de 5 a 6 animais (salina, BCG, EAE, BCG/EAE, BCG/vetor/EAE e BCG/vacina/EAE) e imunizados em intervalos de 15 dias. Os animais receberam um primming com 2 - 10 x 105 unidades formadoras de colônias de BCG subcutâneo seguido de dois boosters com 300 g de pVAXhsp65 numa solução de sacarose 25% por via intramuscular. A EAE foi induzida 15 dias após a última imunização, por inoculação de 25 g de proteína básica de mielina (MBP) associada ao Adjuvante Completo de Freund contendo Mycobacterium butyricum. Aqueles que não receberam os inóculos descritos foram injetados com salina, exceto o grupo BCG/vetor/EAE que recebeu 300 g de pVAX (vetor plasmidial vazio) também em solução de sacarose. Os animais foram acompanhados diariamente até serem submetidos à eutanásia, 3 semanas mais tarde, durante a fase de recuperação da doença para avaliação da resposta imune, escore clínico e presença de infiltrado inflamatório no SNC. A evolução clínica da EAE foi similar entre animais vacinados e não vacinados, mas a análise histopatológica revelou que a imunização prévia com BCG ou BCG/DNAhsp65 diminui o processo inflamatório. Estratégia de Investimento baseada em padrões descobertos por mineração de dados em séries históricas de preços diários do Indice IBOVESPA e das ações da PETROBRAS-PN (PETR4.SA)

With the increase of stakeholders and consequently increase of amount of nancial transaction the study of news investment strategies in the stock market with data mining techniques has been the target of important researches. It allows that great historical data base to be processed and analysed looking for pattern that can be used to take a decision in investments. With the idea of getting pro t more than the real indexs' gain, we propose a strategy method of transactions using rules built by algorithm classi cation. For that, diary historical data of Ibovespa index and Petrobras stocks are organized and processed to nding the most important attribute that act decisively when taking a investment decision.To test the accuracy of proposed rules, a non real portfolio management is created, showing the decisions' performance over the real index and stocks' performance. Following the proposed rules, the results show that the strategy of investment give me back a high return that Stock market's return. The exclusive characteristics of algorithms maximize the gain inside the analysed time allowing to determine the techniques' return and the number of the days necessary to double the initial investment. The best classi er applied on the time series and its use on the propose investments strategy will demand 104 days to double the initial capital

Plano educacional: uma estratégia para conservação de habitats de polinizadores

Tem havido uma preocupação global com o desaparecimento de polinizadores dos campos de cultivo, podendo causar uma queda na produção de alimentos, e consequentemente, afetar a segurança alimentar em decorrência de déficits de polinização. Dessa forma, ações visando à conservação de espécies polinizadoras e de seus habitats vem assumindo uma importância cada vez maior. A região do município de Guapiara destaca-se no Estado de São Paulo como a principal produtora de tomate. O tomateiro possui flores hermafroditas e autofecundadas, porém uma melhor produtividade pode ser alcançada com a polinização por abelhas. A região apresenta uma diversidade de habitats agrícolas próximos a ambientes naturais preservados (Parque Estadual Intervales e Parque Estadual Turístico do Alto Ribeira), o que favorece o estabelecimento de uma fauna de polinizadores diversificada, mas fortemente impactada pela aplicação intensiva de produtos químicos nos cultivos. A proposição de um plano de manejo objetivando a conservação de espécies de abelhas junto às áreas cultivadas se justifica plenamente para a região, considerando a fauna rica em espécies de abelhas com potencial de polinização para cultivos agrícolas. Planos de divulgação sobre a importância da conservação das espécies ou habitats alvo são parte integrante dos planos de manejo. Through observation of production process of a Vale do Paraiba’s automobile industry, one can encounter in need of improvement related to large uncertainties and variations in the production environment, a fact that inspired the search for solutions that can respond quickly to these changes. This way, the paper describes the development of a flexible manufacturing model, which aims to optimize the process in an automotive sub-assembly industry of the Paraíba Valley. Through this will highlight the strategies and real gains from the use of this methodology and therefore, the tools of Production Engineering that were used in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, in order to improve processes in various aspects such as reduced handling, standardization of production, reduced time used in machine setup. Estratégia Saúde da Família: implantação de uma rede em Presidente Prudente - SP

This project was developed with the aim of contributing to the construction of a system of Unidades de Saúde da Família (USFs) to Presidente Prudente, a city located in the western region of São Paulo state. It was tried to bring to the architectural space the existing guidelines for the public service with the intention of create welcoming and functional environments and a net identity. Given these characteristics it was developed a modular construction system that allows the creation of new units in an agile manner and with a minimum quality standard. Since many of Presidente Prudente’s features are present in other Brazilian cities, the guidelines presented in this proposal will be useful to the work of managers in other cities of the country

Avaliação da estratégia de controle de enchentes através de reservatórios de detenção de águas pluviais na sub-bacia do Alto Tietê - São Paulo

A rápida expansão do espaço urbano no Brasil ocorreu e continua ocorrendo, geralmente, de forma desordenada e sem perspectivas imediatas de ordenação das práticas de uso e ocupação do solo. O planejamento da ocupação do espaço urbano, baseado na racionalidade capitalista, embora englobe fundamentos interdisciplinares, na prática tem sido realizado dentro de um âmbito mais restrito do conhecimento, desconsiderando aspectos fundamentais dessa dinâmica. Essa situação tem resultado em grandes transtorno e custos para a sociedade e para o meio ambiente, atingindo diretamente os sistemas de drenagens urbanos e resultando no crescimento dos eventos de cheia. Assim, o planejamento urbano vem buscando alternativas que possibilitem o alcance do desenvolvimento urbano sustentável. Neste sentido, este trabalho objetiva avaliar qualitativamente a implantação reservatórios de detenção implantados no alto curso da sub-bacia do Alto Tietê, de modo a avaliar os problemas apresentados através da realização de um inventário dos avanços atingidos na incorporação destas medidas no gerenciamento dos sistemas de drenagem nesta subbacia.

Braquiterapia com sementes de iodo-125: manufatura e tratamento

According to the National Institute of Cancer – INCA, 466.730 new cancer cases will occur in Brazil in 2009. Prostate and Lung cancer in man are the most incident types (in exception of the non-melanoma cancer). The brachytherapy with 125-iodine sources is an important method of prostate cancer treatment. The implant with iodine-125 seeds uses aproximately 100 seeds that are imported impossibilitating the treatment in large scale. For this reason, a multidisciplinary group was created at the Energetic and Nuclear Research Institute – Radiation Technology Center (IPEN –CTR / SP) to develop a national 125-iodine source and established a facility for local production. The seeds manufacture in Brazil will diminish the cost of treatment and prostate brachytherapy will be offered to more patients. This work aim is to observe and discuss the methods used in seeds manufacture there are being developed in Brazil and to present an prostate cancer case folloied in A.C. Camargo Hospital. The 125-iodine is adsorbed in an silver wire, then deposited at titanium coat. The weld is made by an process of plasm sealing. The seeds goes through several test to guarantee that there is no leakage. The result is an high quality and cheaper product. The implant tecnique is an fast and save procedure. Coleta e estratégia simplificada de tratamento de água de chuva para fins não potáveis com ênfase no uso industrial

Este projeto investigou alternativa de tratamento simplificada para fins não potáveis para aplicação em escala industrial. É neste contexto que esta pesquisa alojou sua importância – nas possíveis estratégias de tratamento, em especial na utilização de sistema contendo filtro de pressão e no uso do amido natural de milho como coagulante, auxiliando no processo de filtração, visando aumento da segurança sanitária e da qualidade da água de chuva disponibilizada para aproveitamento. A hipótese do trabalho foi investigar a possibilidade da diminuição ou até eliminação do volume de água descartada na operação de abstração da primeira chuva. Para tal, foram realizados ensaios em escala de laboratório com uma precipitação coletada nos dias 10/03/08 e 03/04/2008. Os resultados da estratégia de tratamento delineada foram comparados com os obtidos pela estratégia convencional com descarte de 1,5 mm da primeira chuva, o que corresponde a um volume de 558 L de água de chuva. Utilizou-se a dosagem de 6,0 mg/L para fim de comparação com a água bruta, sem nenhum tratamento, e com a água somente filtrada. Os resultados não confirmaram a hipótese de que o tratamento com amido natural permite eliminar a etapa de abstração da primeira chuva, porém, vale ressaltar que a qualidade da água coletada já era muito boa previamente ao tratamento. Merece destaque o fato de que a amostra de precipitação submetida aos ensaios apresentados foi coletada em período de freqüente precipitação e, embora tenha sido observado o interstício de 3 dias consecutivos de estiagem a qualidade da água de chuva coletada pode ser considerada boa (34UH de cor aparente; 8,84 UT de turbidez e 238,2 (NMP) de coliformes totais e 3 (NMP) de coliformes termotolerantes). Vigilância à saúde da criança na perspectiva dos enfermeiros da estratégia saúde da família

This qualitative study aimed at apprehending conceptualizations and at describing experiences of nurses working in the Family Health Strategy in a medium-sized city in São Paulo state in relation to Children’s Health Surveillance, with a special focus on nursing consultation. Data were collected from 12 nurses by means of recorded semi-structured interviews that were analyzed according to the Thematic Content Analysis Method. Results were systematized into four themes: Conceptualizations about Children’s Health Surveillance; Children’s Health Surveillance in the practice of the Family Health Strategy; Nursing consultation and Children’s Health Surveillance; Proposals to qualify Children’s Health Surveillance in the realm of the Family Health Strategy. It was possible to apprehend amplified and actual conceptualizations of Children’s Health Surveillance as well as to describe experiences surrounded by difficulties to incorporate the premises of this form of Children’s Health Care in the Family Health Strategy. Nursing consultation was noteworthy as a privileged moment, but not unique, to develop such practice. Finally, based on nurses’ proposals, the importance of triggering permanent education processes targeted at these themes in family-health services was considered
