Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee 23rd May, 1988.

This is the report from the Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 23rd May, 1988. The report contains sections on fishing licence duties and sales, fixed engine byelaws, close season for coarse fish, review of fishing byelaws, catch returns, and acid pollution in the Wiza Beck and the River Wampool. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

This is the report from the Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 17th October, 1988. The report contains sections on fisheries byelaws, sea fisheries byelaws, and serious fish mortalities. This section looks at some of the incidents which resulted in the loss of fish such as the River Tame, Stalybridge; Three Pools Waterway, Southport; River Weaver, Winsford to Vale Royal; River Weaver, Nantwich; Colton Beck, Greenodd; River Ribble, Calder Foot to Preston; Trawden Beck and Colne Water. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

This is the report from the Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 20th February, 1989. The report contains sections on fishing licence duties, Ombudsman’s Report, net licence allocation criteria, renewal of the Lune and Wyre net limitation order and fishery byelaws. The section on Ombudsman’s Report looks at the complaint against the Authority relating to the allocation of haaf net licences for the Solway Firth for 1988. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

The section on Ombudsman’s Report looks at the complaint against the Authority relating to the allocation of haaf net licences for the Solway Firth. The section on fish mortality incidents focuses on fish Mortalities in River Laneshaw and Colne Water on 26/27 March 1989. It also compares the results of previous reports and gives a full summary for the investigation (including previous reports).

All are summarized in tables, and figures are alo included plotting weight distributions for each age classes and frequency distributions. The report also remarks the similarity of the results with those for 1962.

This is the third River Dart Scale Reading Investigation Report on the 1964 season by the Devon River Board. The object of this investigation is to examine, by means of scale-reading, the general biology of the salmon population of the River Dart. It reviews the methods used for the collection of scales and examination of the materials. It shows the results of the survey and the number of scales studied from each of the various sea-age classes, time of running with distribution of the sea-age groups throughout the season, fish sizes and smolt ages at migration. All are summarized in tables, and figures are also included plotting weight distributions for each age classes and frequency distributions. After three years of the investigation a pattern is emerging which shows that the Dart salmon population is mainly composed of four year old fish, which have spent two years in the river and then two year or little longer at sea.

River Teign Fisheries Survey 1972

This is the Second River Teign Fisheries Survey from July and August 1972 by the Devon River Authority. The aim of the survey was to assess the distribution and relative abundance of salmonid fish in the River Teign, describing the methods and results. The section on methods contains information of the selected transects and methodology for the survey. The results goes through totals of all salmonid fish caught, adults, parrs and estimations of parr population individually for salmo salar and salmo trutta. Maps with survey sections and fish indices along with tables with size distributions and totals of salmonids found are attached.

River Erme Fisheries Survey 1965

This is the River Erme Fisheries Survey, 1965 by the Devon River Authority. The survey was carried out during April and May 1965, with the principal object being the determination of the abundance and distribution of salmonid fish in the River Erme in relation to the discharge from Stowford Paper Mills, Ivybridge. It contains a brief introduction of general aspects of the catchment, chemistry, pollution, biology and fisheries in the river, methodology that looks at the selected transects and techniques for sampling, results and recommendations. It contains tables with totals of all salmonid fish found at each section, size distribution of trout, surface area of section and population density.

River Exe Scale Reading Investigation. 5th Annual Report for the 1970 Season
