The air part of the cassava is a residue which presents possibilities of being used as a non-wooden raw material in the production of pulp due to the fact that its 81 % of the adult plants air part, besides having high availability and presenting a high concentration of fibers. Studies were developed with the purpose of producing the pulps through the kraft process, which is a mix of the Na2S and NaOH in water heated up to the temperature of 160º C for about 90 minutes to the extraction of lignin. The paper sheets obtained in the practices went through an experimenting process. Studies related to the paper characteristics were accomplished in order to assess its use in the visual communication through printing techniques, silk screen, pictures and others graphical processes. The research results are able to conclude the utilization viability of this material in graphics communication.

This paper aims to show some advantages brought by the computer graphics and inter-disciplinary communication within the academic institution UNESPBauru, using it as a teaching tool in undergraduate engineering and design. The communication in the classroom could be reconfigured through the adoption of new technologies by drawing a parallel between old and new programmatic contents, setting goals and parameters to improve communication between teacher and student, transferring and sediment of the given content and increasing production in quantity and complexity of work undertaken by students. As an example of computer graphics use, this work presents a final graduation work that was successful in the market, "Teardrop Trailer Caracol", as result of the final adoption of CAD technology as a teaching tool, design and production.

Amongst thematic networks, strategic laboratories and master and doctorate scholarships awarded by the National Program of Nanotechnology, an actor of great relevance can be distinguished due to its relative absence: the lay people, once more relegated to a secondary agent in Brazilian democracy, although citizens’ views have been increasingly recognized all over the world as an indispensable factor to the science and technology public policies which are intended to be democratic. Whereas Europe and United States have incorporated public values and feelings in the policy planning, Brazil is still waiting for opportunities of public participation in the definition of research guidelines. This paper examines contemporaneous demands of science communication to the strengthening of citizenship, aiming to offer contributions to a debate directed to question the present arrangement — of antidemocratic indifference towards the public — adopted in the formulation of public policies in Brazil.

O presente artigo pretende analisar a Comunicação Pública como uma vertente de comunicação focada na construção da cidadania, demarcando-se na contemporaneidade como uma iniciativa à participação do cidadão nos meios de comunicação. Destacamos, especialmente, o rádio por ser um meio de comunicação de amplo alcance viabilizando espaços de diálogo com o ouvinte, fomentando a reflexão a respeito de conflitos e divergências públicas, ou seja, como um agente gerador de cidadania. Nessa perspectiva faz-se uma conexão entre as teorias de Comunicação Pública em complemento ás teorias e habilidades de Relações Públicas, enfocando a atuação deste profissional comprometido com as questões sociais e como propulsor da cidadania.

The ancient struggle for a National Conference on Communication in Brazil, truly representative and with clear opportunities to define new rules to the sector of communication, has been waged for years and was conducted in late 2009. It is proposed to identify the background of the historic struggle for CNC can be perceived in the defense of press freedom and freedom of expression in seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, most recently in the movements of democratization policy in the 80s and 90s. The research was done by analyzing the direct and indirect official document concerning the establishment of guidelines and the convening of the Conference, and manifestation of civil society and business.

This article contains a brief summary of the thesis defended in Visual Poetics, whose title is “Digital and Non Digital Illustration: A Study of the Steps in the Production Process for the Optimization of Communication”. With the detailing of these major items, the mindset of the thesis was the research of the process of digital and not digital production.

The paper presents some reflections, in the form of questions, about the challenges and possibilities of education in respect to integration of information technology and communication in the school curriculum. For this, we present: initial considerations on contemporary education and the urgent need to rethink the teaching curriculum on information society and knowledge, perspectives on the school curriculum and the moments for which it permeates even be translated into everyday curriculum for teaching practices , and finally, emphasizes the need for integration of technologies, so cross-curricular teaching practices through inter-and transdisciplinary projects.

The present study scores postures, approaches and themes to permeadt discussions and the process of construction of Course Specialization of communication at the Faculty of architecture, arts and communication (FAAC) of Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Bauru, SP, highlighting the difficulties and the paths chosen in search of professional qualification together organizations. Presentation the investigative process, market over demands from the perspective of organizational communication, to try to understand the multidimensional abilities that the course should provide. Finally, it establishes some modules and thematic for the course, intending to reflect the diversity of communicative functions, which are in the highest capacity of human beings, that is to create your reality and interfere in the direction of society.
Jornalismo e meio ambiente: a contribuição dos meios de comunicação e o conceito de sustentabilidade

This article is a reflection about the contribution the social communication media can provide to the public debate about the environmental concerns. The Agenda XXI and several other UN documents call to the need to inform and educate the society. On the other hand, the Communication theories always have in common the imperative of the emitter to be understood by the recipient, in such a way that they can become change agents and not only observers. The first step is, therefore, to study the environmental question, adequately focus the theme and convey clarification. It is not what happened, for instance, with some technical concepts from the area, in particular sustainability, that came about in the 70 s to guide public policies at the service of the life preservation and specially, future and today, utilized even as a parameter of preservation of profit and advantage resulting from exploitation of nature.Key-Words Theory of Communication - Environmental Sustainability MCM

The world is aging. This subject is becoming more and more present on the communication media. The future journalists must be made aware of this phenomena that involves a important change in the society. One of the ways can be the study of the empowerment and Social Capital Formation techniques, using the new Information and Communication Technologies, or following the example of the Open Universities to the Third Age that are appearing all over the world. In this article we’ll study the case of “Programa Universitario para Mayores” (University Program for the Grown ups), at Seville University (Spain).

This paper focuses on the importance of internal communication within the journalism departments of regional Brazilian open television networks. This research shows that these professionals recognized that communication can improve relationship among staff and journalistic performance. However, just one of the companies researched invests in internal communication management. The present study also reveals many challenges which influence internal communication, relationship, and the journalistic work in these companies, such as: lean teams, interferences from other areas in the journalistic writing, lack of formal network of communication, competition among members of the team, the journalist's professional profile, need for shared leadership and internal communication policies and information management.
