Wise, who began his career as Youth Coordinator and Associate Director of the Louisiana Coalition Against Racism and Nazism, now tours the country speaking to students on over 1,000 college and high school campuses. He also speaks to professional institutions on ways to remove racism from within their ranks. Wise's memoir White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son, is widely regarded for its depiction of how racism creates privilege for Whites, while negatively impacting persons of color. His five other works, including Dear White America: Letter to a New Minority, have also earned critical acclaimed. His seventh work Culture of Cruelty: How America's Elite Demonize the Poor, Valorize the Rich and Jeopardize the Future, is scheduled for release in early 2015.

Esta pesquisa estuda o processo de mudança corrente na capoeira gerada pela capoeira gospel no ABC paulista e suas regiões periféricas. Discute o viés pelo qual os evangélicos a utilizam como ferramenta de evangelização e como assimilam as suas técnicas corporais, enquanto ramificação da cultura afro-brasileira. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com pastores evangélicos, mestres de capoeira pastores e adeptos da capoeira em igrejas pentecostais, neopentecostais e em academias seculares da região. O movimento da capoeira gospel é um fenômeno recente e em crescimento. Com princípios baseados na Bíblia, desestruturam os alicerces da capoeira secular que tem sua base nas tradições culturais de origem africana, que funde mitos, ritos e esporte.(AU)

Este artículo se centra en el análisis de la tipología, características y evolución de algunos de los diversos rituales de movilización y símbolos desplegados en el espacio público por las distintas organizaciones y núcleos de militantes de signo confederal y anarquista en España durante los años de la Segunda República, antes del estallido de la sublevación militar de julio de 1936. Entre ellos: huelgas, insurrecciones revolucionarias, mítines, manifestaciones, excursiones, entierros de militantes, etc. El propósito de estas acciones era claro: tanto la cohesión y reafirmación identitaria internas, como la proyección externa del movimiento. Con estas estrategias de acción colectiva, que suponían una “salida” al espacio público, se trataba de hacer visible allí la fuerza del movimiento y reafirmar la presencia física de este, sus reivindicaciones y aspiraciones. Esta visibilidad se reforzaba mediante el despliegue de los símbolos propios: himnos, canciones, banderas, etc.

«Viatjant i llegint: promoció de la lectura i vertebració del país» és un projecte de promoció de la lectura i del patrimoni cultural engegat per la Coordinadora pel Valencià de l'Alcoià-Comtat (Escola Valenciana). Des de l'any 2007 s'han posat en marxa una sèrie de rutes literàries amb un destinatari doble: el món educatiu, per la vessant didàctica i d'animació a la lectura; i el públic en general, per la dimensió de promoció turística i de redreçament de la identitat. L'article provarà de justificar el recurs de les rutes literàries com una eina útil per a l'animació a la lectura i la normalització del valencià. Explicarà en què han consistit tres d'aquestes propostes i farà una aplicació didàctica de cadascuna, en funció del nivell educatiu en què poden ser treballades, des d'educació primària a secundària i batxillerat.

Este estudo apresenta uma breve análise sobre o Museu Inhotim, considerado o maior museu a céu aberto do mundo. Nele, são expostas obras de Arte Contemporânea inseridas no meio ambiente, num processo de diálogo com a natureza, presente numa reserva florestal que era uma antiga fazenda. Entre jardins, arquitetura e arte, as obras também se relacionam entre si. No local são oferecidos passeios culturais, artísticos e educacionais, pois o museu conta com um setor educativo voltado para a educação através da reflexão sobre as obras de arte expostas e o meio ambiente, quanto à preservação do patrimônio ambiental e cultural. A arte, nesse contexto, ganha uma análise baseada em alguns conceitos sobre Arte Contemporânea, que se fundamentam em estudos propostos por autores como Giulio Carlo Argan, Umberto Eco, Michael Archer, Ernst Fischer, Fayga Ostrower, entre outros.

The volume has a piece of marbled paper, a small piece of paper with excerpts of epitaphs from London and its environs described, in John Winthrop's hand, a scrap of blotting paper, a tabulation of butter in Hannah Winthrop's hand, and baptisms and deaths in the community, and a bill of mortality for 1772 in John Winthrop's hand.
