Reflexões sobre homofobia e educação em escolas do interior paulista

This is a survey conducted in 2009 with 2,282 students of both sexes enrolled in the three grades of high school in three cities of the west of Sao Paulo state (Assis, Presidente Prudente and Ourinhos). The data collection instrument was a self-administered and anonymous questionnaire with 131 questions. In this article, we reflect on how in schools the research participants reproduce and reinforce the hegemonic discourses of control of sexualities guided by the attempt to promote heterosexuality as the only form of sexual intelligibility, to the detriment of other forms of expression of sexuality. We discuss how homophobia and the devices of social control of sexuality (re) produce prejudices and stereotypies, resulting in vulnerabilities that non-heterosexual teenagers have, such as homophobic victimization, social and affective isolation, ideations and suicide attempts. The study shows that the invariant were discrimination, homophobic violence and the insults that are perpetrated in the values and discourses of adolescents at school and in their family, demonstrating the institutionalization of homophobia as a regulatory practice of the psychological and social construction of gender and sexual identities. We highlight how important it is for the school to appropriate the means of deconstruction of heterocentric normativity to preserve the rights and citizenship of the people who do not identify with the prevailing models of heterosexuality.

Influência da violência no esporte sobre espectadores de MMA: análise de percepções e comportamentos

Modern society lives daily with groups of human beings who have high rates of aggression and violence. Scholars in the field point to the influence of certain environmental condition for the development of aggressive behavior. Among such circumstances, we can quote various aspects including the influence of media, and more specifically, the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). The MMA is now one of the world's most popular sport, having international visibility through your largest organization, the UFC® (Ultimate Fighting Championship). The sport's global coverage is surely source of influence for our children and adolescents, who without the correct direction, can take the scenes seen in the sport as common facts of everyday life, making aggression and violence acceptable behaviors in their lives. Many studies show behavioral changes related to violent practices in virtue of exposure of individuals to aggression scenes by media. Works provide some interesting theoretical models to explain the observational learning. Under such aspects, the determined reality brings a need for in-depth studies on the subject addressed, looking for a better understanding of relations between the sport's violence and your influences on social behavior of individuals in this context, and then, look for possible solutions to deal with the problem pre supposed

Democracia digital e redes sociais: Twitter como filtro de informação política

The internet, with its hypertext and multimedia features, can be a support for the dissemination of information in an attractive way, which may contribute to the strengthening of democracy. Recent innovation, social networks have been explored also as a resource to attract the interest of the broader public to information about public policies. This paper presents and discusses the results of an empirical study which assessed, through content analysis, the breadth and depth of information offered by the Sao Paulo state government and the federal government in texts accessed through Twitter to publicize purposes, lines of action and limits of public policy in the areas of welfare, health, education and environment . The results indicate that the information available tend to focus mainly on goals, resources and current actions of policies, whereas there can be found few data on planned features, relation between cost and effectiveness and user satisfaction.

Comunicação pública para cidadania no avanço das redes sociais oficiais

The advancement in the deployment of social networks by governments can generate public communication initiatives, which may contribute to the strengthening of citizenship, understood as the exercise of the right to information about public management. This article describes results of research which assessed, through content analysis, the breadth and depth of information offered by the state government of São Paulo in news stories accessed through the social networks Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Orkut which publicize purposes, lines of action and limits of public policies of immediate impact for citizenship, in the areas of welfare, health, education and environment. Results indicate that the analyzed sample contains, on average, from 28% to 40% of all information deemed necessary for the comprehensive and plural characterization of a public policy, according to the theoretical-methodological context of the research.

Encoprese e intervenção psicológica: revisão de literatura

Studies have shown that encopresis, related to bowel control disorder, can bring significant impact for the individual life, such as low self-esteem and deficits in social interaction. Despite the significant impairment recognized that this disorder can have on child development, the scientific literature has given little attention to the theme, with a low number of publications on the subject. Thus, this paper investigated Brazilian publications in psychology related to encopresis between 1994 and 2013 in data base Lilacs and Scielo. 231 articles were found and were selected those that reported only intervention in encopresis. There were five articles and four published by the same journal and described behavioral interventions, and one author wrote three. The other one was psychoanalytic. The surveys were conducted with children and adolescents and behavioral interventions have been successful with remission of encopresis symptoms. The data affirm the deficiency in publications in the area and possibly limited number of psychologists investigating the issue, which is of significant importance.

Copa do Mundo 2014: a exploração da imagem dos jogadores

O futebol é uma das modalidades mais praticadas no mundo. Atualmente, estima-se que se tenha cerca de 3,5 bilhões de praticantes desta modalidade, sejam eles de forma profissional, ou no âmbito do lazer. Por consequência, o futebol torna-se um grande influenciador do comportamento social de crianças e adolescentes, transmitindo elementos para interpretação do mundo, confrontando, muitas vezes, com a escola e a família na formação de valores. Através das mídias, o futebol é disseminado mundo afora, por meio de transmissão de jogos, cobertura de campeonatos, programas exclusivos de futebol e publicidade, em que são exploradas as imagens dos atletas para venda dos mais variados produtos. Sendo assim, o objetivo desse estudo se pautou num levantamento, em que foram analisadas propagandas publicitárias nacionais ocorridas nos meses de Junho, Julho e Agosto de 2014, em mídia impressa, buscando compreender o tipo de publicidade exercida e quais jogadores ficaram em evidência. Para isso, a metodologia deste estudo foi do tipo qualitativa e descritiva, em que realizou-se uma análise documental acerca dos principais referenciais da área investigada, como reportagens e propagandas em jornal (Folha de São Paulo) e revistas (IstoÉ e Veja). Os resultados obtidos culminaram em três categorias temáticas, sendo elas: atletas atuais x atletas antigos; atletas cobertos x desnudos: corpos que são vendidos?; e tamanho da publicidade e relação com o megaevento. Na primeira categoria, viu-se ambas as gerações tiveram suas imagens associadas a atletas campeões, como forma de incentivo à busca do hexacampeonato. Na segunda categoria, verificou-se que os corpos dos atletas vendiam mais que produtos, vendiam status, eram retratados como símbolos a serem alcançados. Por fim, na última categoria, foram encontradas evidências que tanto o tamanho quanto as características das publicidades foram distintas no decorrer da Copa do Mundo...

O princípio da integralidade no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS): utopia?

The Brazilian Federal Constitution promulgated in 1988 created the concept of Social Welfare, which is based on the triad: Health, Social Security and Social Assistance. The Unified Health System (SUS) was then instituted. SUS is a conquest of a society that seeks social justice, integrality, equalitarian and universal access to health services. In the present essay, I succinctly discourse on the various meanings of integrality. I present the theoretical basis of complexity and transdisciplinarity by opposing to reductionism, aiming at showing that, by means of transdisciplinarity and intersectoriality, integrality can be achievable.

Análise de um processo avaliativo do jogo de handebol

Handball is a team sport invasion, much practiced in Brazilian schools. There are different teaching methods of team sport, and with them different evaluation methods, this study aims to analyze the shared evaluation process of building course with students of a handball design of a municipal school in Bauru in sports initiation and at the end submit an evaluation process. For this study students of a municipal school participants handball classes in the opposite time of curricular classes underwent an interview, besides having been recorded them playing a handball game with number of small participants at the beginning of the post holiday classes July and another three months later as a form of evaluation. After reviewing the videos and interviews, it was concluded that some students had a game performance improves when they were part of the attack, and also had a behavioral improvement, both from actions taken in the game, as respect to the next, thus interpreted by the students themselves. Although it is a difficult task to analyze and quantify the performance of students in Physical Ed classes can complete some improvements, moreover is valid Professor hear the views of students to understand the vision that students have of themselves during the game
