Estudio etnográfico sobre la percepción que tienen las enfermeras de su rol docente respecto a los alumnos de enfermería y su vinculación con la identidad profesional

Existe una importante discusión alrededor de cuáles son las funciones de Enfermería, los roles que nos identifican y que aplicamos en nuestro trabajo. La comprensión de los roles que la Enfermería desempeña, así como de las influencias, de las expectativas y de los límites del comportamiento social derivados de tales roles son importantes para mostrarnos como profesión. Si estructuramos las distintas actividades que lleva a cabo el profesional de enfermería podemos diferenciar las siguientes funciones: Asistencia, gestión, docencia e investigación. En este trabajo nos centraremos en la función docente. Cuando nos referimos a la función docente enfermera lo relacionamos con la función de educación a la sociedad, fruto del compromiso de buscar alternativas innovadoras que mejoren la calidad de vida de la población o bien a la función docente desde el punto de vista de profesor universitario o en los últimos tiempos, y más limitado al proceso de aprendizaje que se realiza en los hospitales, a la función que realiza el tutor de las prácticas clínicas. El proceso de socialización de alumnos se produce durante el periodo de prácticas. Es la manera de transmitir el cuidado, la identidad profesional. Las actitudes de los profesionales de enfermería adquieren una complejidad especial, ya que no todos reconocen como una responsabilidad con la profesión enfermera el contribuir a la formación de los futuros profesionales. El objetivo principal del estudio será explorar la percepción que tienen las enfermeras del rol docente en relación a los alumnos de enfermería y su vinculación con la identidad profesional. El estudio será multicéntrico y se ajustará a un diseño cualitativo con perspectiva etnográfica. La población diana estará formada por enfermeras asistenciales de hospitalización de tres hospitales catalanes. No se determina la muestra ya que se prevé utilizar un muestreo de conveniencia hasta la saturación de los datos. La técnica de recogida de datos será la observación y posteriormente entrevistas en profundidad y grupos de discusión con las enfermeras observadas y foco de este estudio. El análisis de los datos estará sujeto al enfoque hermenéutico bajo el marco teórico de la Teoría de la Acción Comunicativa de Habermas.

Radio-immunothérapie du lymphome folliculaire: un pas vers la guérison [Radioimmunotherapy of follicular lymphoma: a step towards cure?]

Advanced stage follicular lymphoma is incurable by conventional treatment. Important progress has been observed with the development of new therapies based on monoclonal antibodies and on the use of radioimmunotherapy (RIT) in the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL). Rituximab in combination with chemotherapy in the upfront setting significantly improved treatment outcome as compared with chemotherapy alone. Different studies also indicate that RIT has an important role in the management of NHL and could be beneficial in combination with chemotherapy. These two new treatment options have clearly distinctive mechanisms of action, rituximab being an exclusively biological treatment and RIT adding targeted systemic radiation therapy. Both RIT and the unlabeled antibody treatments might be further improved by different strategies including repetition of RIT or combination of different antibodies. We present here our experience with RIT using 131I-tositumomab (Bexxar) and discuss different topics regarding RIT, like the use of different antibodies, the best choice of the radioisotope or the place of radio-imaging. From the therapeutic point of view, we argue that the debate should not be as to which one among antibody immunotherapy or RIT should be best added to chemotherapy, but that all three treatments might be optimally combined with the aim to get the highest chance of cure for advanced stage follicular lymphoma.

La Formación técnica y profesional en Haití: problemas y perspectivas

El presente trabajo ofrece un análisis sobre la problemática de la formación profesional en Haití, considerada primordial para contribuir de forma gradual al desarrollo económico y humano del país. Se identifican los desfases que existen entre la formación profesional ofrecida y la demanda de la sociedad y del mercado laboral, que afectan negativamente la consecución del objetivo de este sector y se proponen soluciones para la reestructuración del sector para asegurarse de que las infraestructuras técnicas y tecnológicas de los centros de formación profesional estén realmente adecuadas, y que los planes de estudio interdisciplinario tengan en cuenta el contexto socio-cultural.

Calculation of radio electrical coverage in Medium-Wave Frequencies

The aim of this project is to accomplish an application software based on Matlab to calculate the radioelectrical coverage by surface wave of broadcast radiostations in the band of Medium Wave (WM) all around the world. Also, given the location of a transmitting and a receiving station, the software should be able to calculate the electric field that the receiver should receive at that specific site. In case of several transmitters, the program should search for the existence of Inter-Symbol Interference, and calculate the field strenght accordingly. The application should ask for the configuration parameters of the transmitter radiostation within a Graphical User Interface (GUI), and bring back the resulting coverage above a map of the area under study. For the development of this project, it has been used several conductivity databases of different countries, and a high-resolution elevation database (GLOBE). Also, to calculate the field strenght due to groundwave propagation, it has been used ITU GRWAVE program, which must be integrated into a Matlab interface to be used by the application developed.

Hacia la autoformación permanente de los docentes en las comunidades de práctica: los talleres de internet en el Aula

El objetivo principal de este trabajo es determinar si las comunidades virtuales de práctica son un espacio adecuado para la autoformación de los docentes. Con este fin, primero se especifican algunos conceptos clave que ayuden a contextualizar el tema de la formación; en segundo lugar se recogen los rasgos que se consideran hoy necesarios para llevar a cabo la labor docente, dibujándose así el perfil “ideal” del profesor en el contexto actual desde distintos ángulos de vista; y por último, se narran algunas experiencias personales en las redes sociales para ilustrar el funcionamiento de este nuevo paradigma social.

Bone marrow dosimetry in rats using direct tissue counting after injection of radio-iodinated intact monoclonal antibodies or F(ab')2 fragments.

Normal rats were injected intravenously with 131I- and 125I-labeled intact murine and chimeric mouse-human monoclonal antibodies directed against carcinoembryonic antigen or with the corresponding F(ab')2 fragments. At different times after injection, individual animals were killed and radioactivity of blood and major organs, including bones and bone marrow, was determined. Ratios comparing radioactivity concentration in different tissues with that of bone marrow were calculated and found to remain stable during several effective half-lives of the antibodies. Mean bone marrow radioactivity was 35% (range, 29%-40%) of that of blood and 126% (range, 108%-147%) of that of liver after injection of intact Mabs or F(ab')2 fragments. In nude rats bearing human colon carcinoma xenografts producing carcinoembryonic antigen, relative bone marrow radioactivity was slightly lower than that in normal rats.

Hints for a fast precessing relativistic radio jet in LS I+61·303

Here we discuss two consecutive MERLIN observations of the X-ray binary LS I +61◦303. The first observation shows a double-sided jet extending up to about 200 AU on both sides of a central source. The jet shows a bent S-shaped struct ure similar to the one displayed by the well-known precessing jet of SS 433. The precession suggested in the first MERLIN image becomes evident in the second one, showing a one-sided bent jet significantly rotated with respect to the jet of the day before. We conclude that the derived precession of the relativistic (β=0.6) jet explains puzzling previous VLBI results. Moreover , the fact that the precession is fast could be the explanation of the never understood short term (days) variability of the associated gamma-ray source 2CG 135 + 01 / 3EG J0241 + 6103.

Exploring the high frequency emission of radio loud X-ray binaries

We report millimetre-wave continuum observations of the X-ray binaries Cygnus X-3, SS 433, LSI+61 303, Cygnus X-1 and GRS 1915+105. The observations were carried out with the IRAM 30 m-antenna at 250 GHz (1.25 mm) from 1998 March 14 to March 20. These millimetre measurements are complemented with centimetre observations from the Ryle Telescope, at 15 GHz (2.0 cm) and from the Green Bank Interferometer at 2.25 and 8.3 GHz (13 and 3.6 cm). Both Cygnus X-3 and SS 433 underwent moderate flaring events during our observations, whose main spectral evolution properties are described and interpreted. A significant spectral steepening was observed in both sources during the flare decay, that is likely to be caused by adiabatic expansion, inverse Compton and synchrotron losses. Finally, we also report 250 GHz upper limits for three additional undetected X-ray binary stars: LSI+65 010, LSI+61 235 and X Per.

Optical counterpart of galactic plane variable radio sources

We present I-band deep CCD exposures of the fields of galactic plane radio variables. An optical counterpart, based on positional coincidence, has been found for 15 of the 27 observed program objects. The Johnson I magnitude of the sources identified is in the range 18-21.
