Aquest projecte s'emmarca dintre la idea de la Web Semàntica. A la primera part introdueix progressivament al tema de la Web Semàntica fins arribar a establir la necessitat de tenir SGBDs. La segon part explota algun dels SGBDs estudiats per realitzar una aplicació web que permeti mostrar alguna aplicació de la Web Semàntica.

Construcció d'una aplicació web utilitzant el mètode Rational Unified Process

Construcció d'una aplicació web a partir de les especificacions d'un client imaginari. Estudi i utilització del mètode Rational Unified Process, el més habitual actualment en la construcció de software. Disseny d'una base de dades i implementació del model lògic mitjançant un SGBD punter al mercat com Oracle.

Anàlisi. Disseny i implementació d'una utilitat de Workflow aplicat a una web de gestió d'un centre de Reclamacions i Queixes mitjançant J2EE : una solució amb Struts i EJBs

El treball final de carrera està compost de l¿anàlisi, disseny i implementació d'una utilitat de Workflow que dóna servei a una web per gestionar les reclamacions i queixes d'una empresa. La part del Workflow s'ha pensat per ser totalment configurable a les particularitats d'un determinat aplicatiu i per donar servei a tantes aplicacions com faci falta simultàniament.L'anàlisi i el disseny s'han basat en la metodologia UML dins el paradigma de l'Orientació a Objectes juntament amb diversos patrons de disseny com pot ser el MVC que ha permès separar completament la lògica de negoci (Workflow) de la presentació (Web). Per les 2 parts: Workflow i web s¿ha fet ús d'una arquitectura distribuïda.

Aplicació Web de Gestió de Cursos TFC - J2EE

Aquest treball de fi de carrera es desenvolupa dins l'àrea de J2EE. Es basa en el desenvolupament d'una aplicació web destinada a gestionar els cursos que s'imparteixen en un ajuntament pels habitants del poble que ho desitjin.

Enough is Enough - Food Poverty Scoping Exercise

In March 2015, over 80 people, representing food banks, churches, advice services, community organisations, statutory agencies and universities attended the ‘Enough is Enough’  launch event in City Church, Belfast to examine the rising demand for emergency food across the city.The ‘Enough is Enough’ project aims to harness the expertise of health and social care professionals, city councillors, advice workers, food banks, community and faith based organisations and strategic bodies across Belfast to collectively address the issue of food poverty. This scoping study lays the foundation for developing an action plan to tackle food poverty in Belfast in collaboration with the community, voluntary and statutory sectors.The Belfast Food Network (BFN) commissioned the project with funding from the Public Health Agency. The research was carried out by Jenny McCurry, who also wrote the report, on behalf of Advice NI.  The project was initiated and developed by Dr Elizabeth Mitchell, Institute of Public Health in Ireland, in her role as convener of the BFN Food Poverty Working Group (BFN/FPWG). Filtrat de Pàgines Web

Aquesta memòria sintetitza el treball de desenvolupament d¿una aplicació per realitzar el filtrat de pàgines web.Els objectius principals del projecte han estat d¿una banda obtenir una aplicació que permeti realitzar el filtrat i de l¿altra aprofitar el projecte per construir un model complet de desenvolupament de programari per a industrialitzar futurs projectes. En quant a la metodologia, s¿ha emprat el cicle de vida RUP de forma incremental en les tres parts de l¿aplicació, (proxy, filtres i log). En la seqüència de quatre fases s¿executen iterativament una sèrie de processos. Pel que fa al producte obtingut, es tracta d¿un servidor proxy, que realitza la funció de filtrat de pàgines web, mitjançant dues utilitats, ¿llista negra¿ d¿adreces i ¿llista negra¿ de continguts, ames de disposar d¿un registre d¿activitat log.

Hungry for Change: Social Exclusion, Food Poverty and Homelessness in Dublin

This study investigates the impact of poverty and social exclusion on the food, diet and nutrition of people out-of-home in Dublin. The research involved a food frequency survey carried out with 75 people out of home, qualitative interviews with 12 individuals as well as a self-completion questionnaire administered to 18 food service providers in Dublin city. One of the main findings from the study was that the extent and experience of food poverty among homeless people was not only conditioned by income inadequacy and other socio-economic and cultural determinants, but particularly, by access to accommodation, as well as the quality of that accommodation. The report makes a number of practice and policy recommendations to tackle food poverty and homelessness. The qualitative approaches to food poverty employed for use with this sample of people out-of-home aimed to deal in depth with issues around food consumption. Through drawing a sub-sample from those who participated in the survey research (a process of recapture), the authors sought to expand on the survey questionnaire information on food issues. The themes for the Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) emerged from the analysis of the survey questionnaires and 4 key thematic areas were selected. i) Access to cooking, preparation and storage facilities ii) Access, choice and constraints in food purchase and consumption iii) Access to information about healthy diet, food preparation and storage iv) Expectations, cultures, values and choice concerning eating The qualitative aspect of the research enquiry eventually generated one FGD and seven semi-structured interviews representing the views of a total of 12 persons all of whom had completed the initial survey questionnaire.This resource was contributed by The National Documentation Centre on Drug Use.

Els principals objectius del TFC ha estat l'anàlisi, disseny i implementació d'una web per a una empresa d'automoció i donar-li a l'empresa la capacitat de gestionar el contingut de la web, cosa que fins ara no podia fer. To això utilitzant la tecnologia Java i J2EE.

Eating disorders, overeating and pathological attatchment to food: Independent or addictive disorders?

The thesis of this book is that there are connections between eating disorders and substance abuse. There are similarities in the craving for food to the cravings for substances of addiction; people with eating disorders experience symptoms similar to those of classic addiction.
