An agency-oriented model to explain vine-growing specialization in the province of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) in the mid-nineteenth century

[cat] En aquest treball presentem un model per explicar el procés d’especialització vitícola assolit als municipis de la província de Barcelona, a mitjans del s. XIX,que cerca entendre com va sorgir històricament un avantatge comparatiu fruit d’un procés que esdevindria un dels punts de partida del procés d’industrialització a Catalunya. Els resultats confirmen els papers jugats pel impuls “Boserupià” de la població en un context d’intensificació de l’ús de la terra, i d’un impuls del mercat “Smithià” en un context d’expansió de la demanda per part de les economies atlàntiques. També es posa de manifest la importància de les dotacions agro-ecològiques i les condicions socioinstitucionals relacionades amb la desigualtat d’ingrés. La difusió de la vinya donà com a resultat unes comunitats rurals menys desiguals fins al 1820, tot i que aquesta desigualtat augmentà de nou a partir d'aleshores.

[cat] L’extensió de les activitats bancàries al segle XIX va ser liderat per alguns grups socials connectats amb el comerç, que van treure profit de la seva experiència i coneixement per estendre la seva influència al voltant del món del crèdit. A la historiografia espanyola, hi ha un conjunt de treballs que s���han centrat en aquesta gent, però en molts pocs casos s���ha fet una classificació que permeti detectar el conjunt de grups econòmics que han liderat el procés de modernització financera de l’Espanya de mitjans del segle XIX. El principal objectiu del treball és l’anàlisi dels grups socials que van formar el Banco de Barcelona entre 1844 i 1854. Aquesta institució va ser important per a la història financera i bancària d’Espanya per ser pionera en la seva activitat creditícia i d’emissió: a més, la seva experiència va servir com a base en la constitució d’un sistema financer modern a Espanya. En una societat com la catalana de mitjans del segle XIX, la confiança era un factor important per explicar la decisió d’invertir. L’aparició de noves companyies i les seves necessitats d’inversió van transformar el comportaments previs. Quin va ser el comportament dels inversors potencials? Va ser el grup que hi havia al voltant del banc el que va ascendir econòmicament en els anys centrals del segle XIX? La resposta és prou clara, els membres del consell d’administració del Banc de Barcelona formaven un grup apart dins dels grups que sorgeixen a l’economia catalana en el seu conjunt.

Estudos sobre desenvolvimento humano no s��culo XIX: da biologia à psicogenia

A escola historicamente erigiu-se como instituição privilegiada de formação de um extrato da população definido pelo seu pertencimento geracional, qual seja, a infância. Essa operação significou a produção e circulação de saberes voltados para compreens��o dos processos de desenvolvimento individual, que sustentassem a aprendizagem escolar. É ao longo do s��culo XIX que tais saberes constituem um campo científico específico, desde os estudos ontogenéticos, referidos à Biologia, a posterior configuração da chamada psicogenia. Busca-se neste estudo, pelo levantamento e análise das obras dos principais autores do período, resgatar o percurso de conformação do campo. Tem-se em vista compreender as permanências e os deslocamentos ocorridos no interior de tal produção, analisando a configuração de uma identidade científica. Verifica-se que, ao longo do período estudado, a embriologia, a biologia darwiniana e lamarkiana, a estatística e a antropometria constituíram-se como referências privilegiadas para a construção de um espaço de saber sobre o desenvolvimento individual, entendido como racialmente determinado.
