This study about Memórias Sentimentais de João Miramar, by Oswald de Andrade, aims to explore the voices that organize the space of language in the narrative. Such space has an operative vision called polyphony, by which the signs organize themselves out of a hierarchical scale, although the chronological axis of the life of João Miramar is the guiding principle of the episodes.

Avaliação da Taxa de Exposição em Exames Radiológicos Realizados em Procedimentos Cirúrgicos - Minimização dos Riscos em Indivíduos Ocupacionalmente Expostos

This paper consists in the evaluation of the exposure rate to ionizing radiation to which professionals working in surgical procedures which require radiological examinations are subjected. Were initially performed real-time readings of exposure rate within four distinct operating rooms during the execution of four surgical procedures that made use of fluoroscopy equipment (including three orthopedic surgeries, one in the shoulder, one in the arm, another for deployment of metal pin in the leg region, and a fourth for vascular procedure); in these surgeries were used ionization chamber detector and an electrometer. In order to check the values achieved, was made a re-evaluation of the distribution of the rate of exposure to radiation, from the surgical procedures, now with thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs). For this, thirty TLDs were distributed in the operating rooms, arranged in points of interest as occupation by professionals. The TLDs were prepared for thirty consecutive days, after which they were removed and replaced with new dosimeters not exposed yet. The dosimeters were subjected to reading of the rate of exposure; this procedure was repeated for four months without interruption. The quantification of the results sought primarily to convert the rate of exposure for equivalent dose rate, both in measurements with ionization chamber as in measurements with TLDs, in order to highlight the presence of the biological effect of ionizing radiation for comparisons within scientific context. Then, the results were plotted to establish the relationship between the values of equivalent dose and the distance to the central axis of the x -ray source, confirming the inverse square law for distance. Finally, the values were associated with the maximum limit recommended by the legislation for occupationally exposed individuals. Controlador PID utilizando microcontrolador PIC

This monograph proposes the implementation of a low cost PID controller utilizing a PIC microcontroller, and its application in a positioning system previously controlled by a dedicated integrated circuit for a positioning system. Applying the closed-loop PID control, the system instability was reduced, and its response was smoother, eliminating vibrations and mechanical wear compared to its response with the dedicated integrated circuit, which has a very limited control action. The actuator of the system is a DC motor, whose speed is controlled by the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique, using a Full-Bridge circuit, allowing the shift of direction of rotation. The utilized microcontroller was the PIC16F684, which has an enhanced PWM module, with its analog converters used as reference and position feedback. The positioning sensor is a multiturn potentiometer coupled to the motor axis by gears. The possibility of programming the PID coefficients in the microcontroller, as well as the adjustment of the sampling rate, allows the implemented system achieving high level of versatility

Comunicação, cultura e linguagem

Os artigos apresentados neste volume da coleção “Desafios Contemporâneos” têm como objetivo refletir sobre os problemas atuais que marcam o diálogo com o campo acadêmico e científico da Comunicação. Os 18 artigos reunidos aqui contemplam a área de Comunicação e envolvem diferentes linhas de pesquisa. A iniciativa teve como fim expor não apenas as discussões gerais sobre o campo, mas também a experiência singular e atuante dos pesquisadores da Unesp dedicados ao estudo da Comunicação. Três eixos nortearam a organização dos artigos. O primeiro, “Múltiplas formas de linguagem e produção de sentido”, reúne textos que investigam o campo da produção, da circulação e do funcionamento e das estruturas da linguagem nas diversas mídias e nas suas tipologias textuais. “Políticas e estratégias da Comunicação” trata dos processos e fluxos de comunicação no mundo atual e sua relação com a política na sociedade. Já o terceiro eixo, “Relações socioculturais e suas manifestações na esfera da indústria cultural e das mídias digitais”, analisa as dimensões dos processos, da difusão e da recepção dos produtos midiáticos em sua relação sociocultural. Entre os temas abordados estão a comparação entre as linguagens jornalística e publicitária, a censura judicial à liberdade de imprensa, o desafio teórico-metodológico na aplicação da antropologia interpretativa ao campo da comunicação, conjunturas e desafios da educação superior em comunicação no Brasil, a focalização da vida operária no cinema de Leon Hirszman pelo filme Eles não usam black-tie, entre outros.
