Complex narratives: estudos de casos de narrativas audiovisuais complexas

O presente trabalho apresenta estudos de casos de expressões audiovisuais reunidas por Jan Simons sob a denominação de narrativas complexas, propondo a sua utilização como referência para aplicação de interação na TV Digital. O corpus é constituído das seguintes produções submetidas a essa classificação: forking path narratives e puzzle films com The Butterfly Effect (Erci Bress e J. Mackye Gruber, 2004); mind-game films com Lola Rennt (Tom Tykwer, 1998); modular narratives com Nine Lives (GPS films, 2005), database narratives e modular narratives com Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, 1994); network narratives com Babel (Alejandro Gonzalez, 2006) e subjectives stories com Being John Malkovich (Spike Jonze, 1999). Compreendida como uma técnica de seleção e articulação de fragmentos de sentidos na composição do discurso audiovisual, aponta-se a montagem como um mecanismo propulsor de interação, manifestada pela transferência da sincronização dos módulos de sentidos que compõe a mensagem ou na construção de discursos audiovisuais com linearidade que se difere do nível dos acontecimentos. A pesquisa gerou um capítulo de livro, duas publicações em revistas científicas, além de integrar anais de diversos eventos acadêmicos

Conselho Tutelar de Rio Claro: um panorama dos casos registrados no ano de 2007

Este trabalho tem como objetivo levantar o número de casos encaminhados ao Conselho Tutelar de Rio Claro no ano de 2007, caracterizar os motivos e as queixas que originaram esses encaminhamentos, verificar as orientações dadas pelos Conselheiros e mapear os bairros da cidade que foram atendidos pelo Conselho. O trabalho está baseado em pesquisa bibliográfica, análise das planilhas que são preenchidas mensalmente e dados coletados em entrevistas realizadas com duas Conselheiras Tutelares. Foi constatado que o Conselho Tutelar de Rio Claro registrou, naquele ano, 227 casos, sendo 441 novos, 597 retornos e 189 acompanhamentos de casos. As queixas registradas são as mais diversas, indo de violência sexual até requisição de certidão de nascimento. Predominam queixas de evasão escolar e reiteração de faltas, seguida pelas de maus tratos e comportamental. Com relação às medidas aplicadas pelos Conselheiros à criança ou adolescente, predomina aquela relativa à matrícula e freqüência obrigatória em estabelecimento oficial de ensino fundamental. Já no que diz respeito às medidas aplicadas aos pais ou responsáveis, a medida de maior registro foi a de orientação, seguida pela de obrigação em matricular filho e acompanhar sua freqüência e aproveitamento. Verificou-se também que não somente os bairros periféricos da cidade são atendidos pelo Conselho Tutelar, mas também bairros considerados de classe média e alta.

Estudo de casos de seleção dos materiais e processos para a fabricação de fuselagens

This work proposes a study on the materials selections and processes for the manufacture of aircraft and showing a methodology to reduce the manufacturing cost. The DFMA can be understood as a methodology that aims at reducing manufacturing and assembly costs and coupled with the increase of product quality through design simplifications. The most commonly material used in the manufacture of aircraft is aluminum alloys due to these possess great structural strength, good elasticity, and being stainless having a low specific weight (about 1/3 that of steel), reducing the weight of the aircraft. A case study in which an operation in the process of verifying the quality was generating unnecessary costs time / man for the company was also developed. The problem solution was simple, just removing the attachment process. It was found that the DFMA methodology is extremely important for the simplification of processes and projects, contributing to the reduction of manufacturing costs of aircraft

Análise de casos de identificação humana em situações especiais

A utilização de programas computacionais específicos como ferramentas para análise estatística em identificação humana e de vínculos genéticos tem se tornado imprescindível, principalmente em casos de maior complexidade ou em grande escala. A análise de casos em que há genealogia incompleta gera resultados inconclusivos tornado os cálculos estatísticos mais laboriosos, consumindo tempo e pessoal qualificado. Os objetivos desse estudo são: o estudo simulado de casos reais de identificação humana e vínculos genéticos em situações especiais (meios irmãos na ausência dos pais, reconstrução), utilizando programas computacionais livres de cálculos estatísticos como ferramenta; a verificação do melhor programa livre de análise estatística disponível para utilização nos centros públicos brasileiros; e o levantamento estatístico dos casos reais brasileiros (vínculos genéticos, negatória, exclusão) para se obter uma visão da realidade brasileira em relação às suas relações familiares. Os principais métodos foram: análise das informações contidas nas fichas de registro e documentos anexados aos exames de vínculo genético dos participantes; e inserção nos softwares dos resultados de perfis genéticos obtidos de diferentes casos, de acordo com as especificações de uso. A amostra populacional dos casos analisados nesse trabalho incluiu 3.871 indivíduos. Em relação aos casos reais brasileiros, o exame de vínculo genético mais requisitado foi o de paternidade tipo trio; 68% dos casos incluíram o suposto pai como o pai biológico e 27% dos supostos pais estavam registrados na certidão de nascimento do filho e requisitaram o exame de paternidade para confirmá-la. No rodapé dos jornais: casos do romance-folhetim

Este capítulo investiga algumas adaptações feitas nos textos publicados originalmente nos bas de page dos periódicos franceses, os quais foram, um pouco mais tarde, traduzidos, nos jornais brasileiros do XIX. Discutiremos aqui, por meio de dois romances folhetins de Alexandre Dumas, os critérios da publicação, as modificações operadas e as possíveis leituras que podemos fazer das novidades que o processo de recriação do folhetim francês em terras brasileiras estabeleceu. Igualmente, discutiremos o papel que o bas de page teve no desenvolvimento do gênero “crônica” no Brasil. Assim sendo, as indagações a respeito do “espaço” são a maior preocupação deste texto, uma vez que critérios editoriais e tipográficos determinaram, por exemplo, que dois textos de gêneros diferentes compartilhassem o mesmo espaço; ou, ainda, que o romance-folhetim fosse interrompido de maneira diversa em relação ao original francês. Essa flexibilidade do bas de page, onde era possível a coexistência de textos de natureza diferente — críticos, imaginários, faits divers —, será pensada como uma das principais razões para o desenvolvimento da crônica como um gênero literário no Brasil.

Casos de ensino relacionados à educação física escolar: uma produção dos alunos do ensino médio

Teaching cases are records, through written narratives, of an academic episode or incident, they appear in educational scenery as a rich strategy not only for the teacher's conformation but also for their investigation. The bibliography shows that young students are still not very much investigated and it contributes to the establishment of negative images of this social subject. In this sense, the objective of this work is to analyze the stories and episodes, called teaching cases, in narrative style, written by students from High School about their physical education classes. The participants of this study are High School students from two public schools from two cities in the countryside of São Paulo state. The researcher stayed in the schools for nine months and in this meantime she made contact with the students, asking, for the ones who showed interest, the construction of teaching cases. For this interested students, the researcher explained researcher explained what teaching cases are, as well as, she presented a template to guide them in the production. At the end of this process, twenty teaching cases were delivered to the researcher. They were analyzed under the qualitative approach, valuing the expressive wealth in the narratives, complemented by the interviews with the authors. Inset the mosaic of narratives and interviews, showing a variety of experiences and possibilities of distance and approximation of the students to the physical education classes, we can indicate that from the 20 cases, only one was set as a total distance from the physical education classes (this is the student's situation since she was in the second grade from elementary school). Mentioning the positive experiences and the approximation to the physical education classes, the association of teaching cases and interviews showed that seven students lived the context and until today present an affective proximity to the classes. Orçamento participativo e instituições participativas: aspectos para a avaliação de experiências e casos

This article is to discuss the evaluative perspectives from which it is possible and convenient evaluate the Participatory Budgets (PBs) and the participatory institutions (PIs) that are being experienced in Brazil since the last two decades of the last century. It is proposed an integrated perspective of evaluation of PBs and PIs, in order to avoid partial and biased conclusions, especially those which are based solely or primarily on quantitative methodologies. This discussion is necessary since, in the past five years, the criticism of these experiments has been increasing. Through critical and creative reflection, in essay form, and based on the recent literature on the topic, it is concluded by the need to adopt, in the empirical evaluation, an integrated approach of evaluation of the PBs and the PIs, such as it is proposed in this article. It is conclude also which is fundamental for the theoretical advancement on the subject dedicate special attention to the desirability or not of adopting the criterion of popular participation in government decisions under representative democracy, since it is refuted by public choice and defended by neo-republicanism.

This paper identifies relevant criteria for evaluation of participatory budgeting and participatory institutions that are currently adopted by governments of both Brazil and elsewhere, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive assessment that integrates all these criteria. Finally, it is recommended to pay special attention to assessing the desirability of these institutions, which are not always positively for theories on democracy

This paper aims at gathering evidences about the reception of Odorico Mendes Greek andRoman translations among his contemporaries. Some of the most celebrated lusophone writersof the 19th Century such as Joaquim Manoel de Macedo, Gonçalves Dias and AntónioFeliciano de Castilho left us their reviews on the work of Mendes, the most productiveand controversial Brazilian translator of the time. The analysis of those data provides valuabledocuments of translation criticism that could constitute evidence of translation practices andmethods in an historical period in which Ancient Literature poetic translations were mostlyproduced.

Abordaje conservador y mínimamente invasivo de la hipomineralización molar-incisivo (HMI) - Relato de casos clínicos

Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is a qualitative developmental enamel defect that affects one to four permanent first molars, with or without involvement of permanent incisors. Enamel defects may produce many symptoms that have physical, social and psychological effects and influence day-to-day living or quality of life. The available treatment modalities for teeth with MIH are extensive, ranging from prevention, restoration, to extraction. Factors such as age, patient expectations, severity of the lesion and materials should be considered in the treatment of the patient with MIH. Restoration with composite resin is an alternative choice for posterior and anterior MIH defective teeth and its use has been show acceptable results. This article describes two clinical cases involving pediatric patients with MIH whose procedure of cavity preparation was based on the use of CVD ultrasound diamond tips and restored using composite resin obtaining favorable esthetics results after a 1 year follow-up.

Aparelho Herbst x osteotomia sagital mandibular bilateral no tratamento do padrão II, classe II, divisão 1 em adultos: relato de casos

Two treatment options are available for adult patients with skeletal Class II malocclusion caused by mandibular deficiency: combined mandibular advancement surgery and orthodontic treatment or mandibular advancement appliance. This study aimed to analyze the effects of two therapeutic modalities of Class II malocclusion treatment with mandibular deficiency. Two distinct individuals with Class II malocclusion division 1 and mandibular deficiency were treated after growth spurt. The first individual used the Herbst appliance as a therapeutic option and the second individual was treated with bilateral sagittal osteotomy. The cephalometric, occlusion and face results were evaluated for both individuals. Correction of Class II malocclusion was observed on both Herbst and surgery patients resulting on a normal occlusal relationship with normal overjet and overbite. Therefore it was concluded that Herbst appliance can be used to treat borderline skeletal Class II in adult patients.

Tratamento multidisciplinar: relato de casos clínicos

Introduction: Adult patients are more prone to periodontal disease mainly caused by poor plaque control. In these patients, orthodontic movement is not contraindicated, but it is necessary to evaluate their periodontal status so that we can establish the appropriate treatment plan. Objective: The objective of this article is to describe and discuss the clinical cases of severely periodontally compromised individuals in need of oral rehabilitation. Methods: The study consisted of orthodontic treatment of two cases with periodontal involvement. After clinical and radiographic examinations, the cases were analyzed by a multidisciplinary team of Orthodontics, Periodontics and Prosthodontics, in order to provide the patient with the best possible esthetic, functional and stability outcomes. Periodontal treatment consisted of supra and subgingival scaling prior to orthodontic treatment, and regular maintenance performed on a quarterly basis throughout orthodontic movement. Activation was carried out every 45 to 50 days, with light forces. Retention remains to the present day, even after completion of the rehabilitation. Conclusion: Multidisciplinary oral rehabilitation treatment yields satisfactory results. The interaction between Orthodontics and Periodontics reveals that patients with reduced, but healthy periodontium, can receive orthodontic treatment as long as the forces applied do not exceed patient's biological limits.
