Visitas de Estudo: Um Desafio Pedagógico no Ensino da História

Este relatório, elaborado no âmbito da unidade curricular de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II, pretende ser uma síntese das atividades pedagógicas e uma reflexão sobre os métodos e instrumentos utilizados neste domínio. É um relatório direcionado para a disciplina de História e Geografia de Portugal, uma vez que o tema relaciona as visitas de estudo com os conteúdos programáticos previstos no currículo do 2.º ciclo do Ensino Básico desta área didático-pedagógica. As visitas de estudo têm sido consideradas atividades relevantes no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, na medida em que possuem características que se revelam facilitadoras de uma resposta positiva por parte dos alunos. Como estratégia de ensino-aprendizagem, é considerada enriquecedora, por exigir do aluno uma atitude ativa, contribuindo assim para uma aprendizagem mais efetiva e centrada em padrões de responsabilidade de todos os intervenientes. Estas atividades tendem a potenciar o processo de ensino e a motivar para as aprendizagens em contextos mais práticos, dando também espaço para a pedagogia das atitudes, dos valores e da preservação das memórias e dos patrimónios tangíveis. Podemos registar uma variedade interminável de locais a visitar, desde museus, teatros, sítios com vestígios arqueológicos, monumentos, bibliotecas, arquivos, entre outros. Com esta investigação pretendemos averiguar quais as conceções de professores e alunos acerca da importância das visitas de estudo. Para tal, foram realizadas entrevistas, com o intuito de reunirmos dados que pudessem sustentar e validar as nossas conclusões. A entrevista foi aplicada após a preparação e concretização de uma visita de estudo. A investigação, de natureza qualitativa / interpretativa, decorreu numa escola do concelho e distrito de Viana do Castelo, sendo a amostra constituída por um questionário aplicado a três turmas do 6.º ano de escolaridade, e por entrevistas a três professores, com formação científica na área da História, e a três alunos do 6.º ano. Os resultados mostram que as visitas de estudo têm relevância no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, constituindo uma mais-valia para a lecionação dos conteúdos em contexto de sala de aula. Na perspetiva dos professores inquiridos, XIII estas atividades devem ser cuidadosamente planificadas e estruturadas, para se conseguir uma interligação dos saberes da comunidade e da escola. As vantagens são inúmeras, podendo destacar as seguintes: contacto com as fontes; motivação para os conteúdos programáticos; envolvimento com a componente lúdica; contacto com novas situações de aprendizagem; promoção da interligação entre a teoria e a prática; e desenvolvimento do espírito crítico, de pesquisa, observação, organização do trabalho, elaboração de relatórios. No entanto, os docentes registaram como desvantagem o afastamento dos grandes centros urbanos, locais privilegiados de promoção e de difusão cultural, tornando as visitas desgastantes, por exigirem deslocações e obrigarem a tratamentos burocráticos. Relativamente às conceções dos alunos, é de destacar que estes consideram que aprendem de uma forma mais efetiva quando têm oportunidade de visualizar, vivenciar, tocar, sentir, no fundo, viver aquele momento como sendo uma aprendizagem num espaço livre e diferente.
