L’objectiu del treball és desenvolupar un portal web pel club Atlètic Alpicat i la Unió Esportiva Alpicat. A més aquest Portal que ha d’estar adaptat als requeriments de clubs i usuaris del Portal, ha de ser fàcil d’usar i de mantenir. Un cop finalitzat el Portal es guiarà els clubs per tal de que puguin gestionar-lo de forma autònoma.A la present memòria trobarem explicades les accions dutes a terme abans, durant i després del desenvolupament del Portal web dels Clubs de Futbol Alpicat.

El comerç de carn de porc dins de la UE: estudi economètric dels factors determinants

El present projecte pretén estimar un model de “gravetat” que ens permeti estimar els efectes que sobre el comerç intracomunitari de carn de porc de la UE27 han tingut i tenen: la introducció de la moneda única europea; els costos de transport, l’ampliació de la Unió Europea de 2004, variacions en la renda dels països, la producció de carn de porc dels països i les relacions de veïnatge. Per tal de dur a terme l’estudi, hem construït una base de dades amb dades relatives als factors esmentats i hem procedit a estimar el model de gravetat.

An update on EMU sovereign yield spread drivers in times of crisis: A panel data analysis

We empirically investigate the determinants of EMU sovereign bond yield spreads with respect to the German bund. Using panel data techniques, we examine the role of a wide set of potential drivers. To our knowledge, this paper presents one of the most exhaustive compilations of the variables used in the literature to study the behaviour of sovereign yield spreads and, in particular, to gauge the effect on these spreads of changes in market sentiment and risk aversion. We use a sample of both central and peripheral countries from January 1999 to December 2012 and assess whether there were significant changes after the outbreak of the euro area debt crisis. Our results suggest that the rise in sovereign risk in central countries can only be partially explained by the evolution of local macroeconomic variables in those countries.

Disseny i implementació de la base de dades d'un sistema de recollida de dades d'activitat física provinents de dispositius wearables, en el marc d'un projecte big data de salut

Aquest treball de final de carrera vol donar una solució a un suposat encàrrec de la Unió Europea de construir una base de dades relacional que permeti emmagatzemar dades de l'activitat física dels ciutadans, obtingudes a partir de dispositius wearables, i dades de l'estat de salut i malalties diagnosticades, recollides pels sistemes informàtics dels diferents serveis de salut. Amb totes aquestes dades recopilades la nostra base de dades permetrà, a través d'aplicacions d'alt nivell, extreure informació útil que permeti conèixer l'estat de salut real dels ciutadans i dissenyar actuacions i campanyes que permetin la seva millora.

Trata de abordar una forma exhaustiva de mirar la frontera, donde las condiciones del paso, del exilio etc., se enraízan en formas de refugio, de éxodo o de exilio así como de otras categorías migratorias construidas a lo largo del siglo XX (lo que conlleva un esfuerzo de memoria histórica), pero también se remontan a los años previos a la supresión de las aduanas europeas. Y se trata igualmente de trazar una perspectiva que incluya el cierre de las fronteras externas de la Unión Europea, considerando asimismo una interpretación crítica de lo que supone el desdibujamiento de las fronteras internas de la Unión, tanto desde una mirada retrospectiva como desde las fronteras Schengen en el marco de la UE

Picnorama és una xarxa social, una unió entre persones i llocs geogràfics del món. En aquesta xarxa els usuaris podran veure tot tipus de fotografies de qualsevol lloc geogràfic per tal de descobrir racons del món, llocs que no sabien que existien o fins i tot planificar unes vacances. És una aplicació pensada per poder descobrir el món des de qualsevol lloc, adaptada a dispositius mòbils i personalitzada amb fotografies per temàtica.

Identifying strategies for mitigating the global warming impact of the EU-25 economy using a multi-objective input-output approach

Global warming mitigation has recently become a priority worldwide. A large body of literature dealing with energy related problems has focused on reducing greenhouse gases emissions at an engineering scale. In contrast, the minimization of climate change at a wider macroeconomic level has so far received much less attention. We investigate here the issue of how to mitigate global warming by performing changes in an economy. To this end, we make use of a systematic tool that combines three methods: linear programming, environmentally extended input output models, and life cycle assessment principles. The problem of identifying key economic sectors that contribute significantly to global warming is posed in mathematical terms as a bi criteria linear program that seeks to optimize simultaneously the total economic output and the total life cycle CO2 emissions. We have applied this approach to the European Union economy, finding that significant reductions in global warming potential can be attained by regulating specific economic sectors. Our tool is intended to aid policymakers in the design of more effective public policies for achieving the environmental and economic targets sought.

La pressió social i el català a Europa

El treball parteix d'una afirmació: la pressió social (exercida de vegades per una persona influent, de vegades per milers) pot facilitar canvis en el règim lingüístic de la Unió Europea (o, més ben dit, en el de les institucions de la Unió) o, si més no, en elements de la seva política lingüística. Al llarg d'aquest treball hom justificarà aquesta afirmació amb una sèrie d'exemples, en què la pressió popular ha volgut deixar clar, davant d'Europa, la importància que donem a la llengua catalana.

Older people's university students in Spain: a comparison of motives and benefits between two models

This study examines both the motives for and the benefits of attending a uni- versity programme for older people (UPOP) in Spain, and how they vary with the type of UPOP. Two UPOP models were assessed: The"Older People"s Classes" of the University of Barcelona, which is organised as a lecture course, and the"University of Experience" at the University of Valencia, which is a three- or four- year variant of regular university degrees. A sample of 321 older students (mean age 67.5 years) was gathered from the two UPOPs, 161 participants from the former and 157 from the latter. The findings suggest that expressive motives such as acquiring knowledge, expanding the mind or learning for the joy of learning were the most important reasons for joining a UPOP, and that among the perceived benefits from taking classes at university featured"gaining more friends","enhanced self or life-satisfaction" and"joy in life". Perceived benefits were particularly high among the less educated and the older students. While students participating in the Older People"s Classes were older and included relatively more women, differences between the two models in motives and benefits did not exist or were slight. These results are discussed in the context of new strategies to improve university courses aimed at older students.

The use of non-animal alternatives in the safety evaluations of cosmetics ingredients by the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS)

In Europe, the safety evaluation of cosmetics is based on the safety evaluation of each individual ingredient. Article 3 of the Cosmetics Regulation specifies that a cosmetic product made available on the market is to be safe for human health when used normally or under reasonably foreseeable conditions. For substances that cause some concern with respect to human health (e.g. colorants, preservatives, UV-filters), safety is evaluated at the Commission level by a scientific committee, presently called the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS). According to the Cosmetics Regulations, in the EU, the marketing of cosmetics products and their ingredients that have been tested on animals for most of their human health effects, including acute toxicity, is prohibited. Nevertheless, any study dating from before this prohibition took effect is accepted for the safety assessment of cosmetics ingredients. The in vitro methods reported in the dossiers summited to the SCCS are here evaluated from the published reports issued by the scientific committee of the Directorate General of Health and Consumers (DG SANCO); responsible for the safety of cosmetics ingredients. The number of studies submitted to the SCCS that do not involve animals is still low and in general the safety of cosmetics ingredients is based on in vivo studies performed before the prohibition.

Aportaciones del Comunicado de Londres en el Proceso de Bolonia: conclusiones sobre los programas de doctorado y otros aspectos destacables

[spa] El pasado 18 de mayo de 2007, tuvo lugar en Londres el último de los encuentros bienales del Proceso de Bolonia, en el que se reunieron los ministros responsables de la educación superior de los países participantes. En el consiguiente London Communiqué se resumieron las valoraciones de los ministros sobre el estado en el que dicho proceso se halla. Así, se pasó revista a los avances consolidados, a aquellas deficiencias que aún no han recibido la atención necesaria, y a las medidas y estrategias urgentes para su definitiva conclusión. El presente texto da noticia de todas estas cuestiones y, con motivo de ofrecer al lector referencias adicionales sobre el contexto general, incluye una breve síntesis de otros documentos directamente relacionados con los temas más destacados en Londres 2007: los programas de doctorado y la figura del doctorando.

Financial stress transmission in EMU sovereign bond market volatility: a connectedness analysis

This paper measures the connectedness in EMU sovereign market volatility between April 1999 and January 2014, in order to monitor stress transmission and to identify episodes of intensive spillovers from one country to the others. To this end, we first perform a static and dynamic analysis to measure the total volatility connectedness in the entire period (the system-wide approach) using a framework recently proposed by Diebold and Yılmaz (2014). Second, we make use of a dynamic analysis to evaluate the net directional connectedness for each country and apply panel model techniques to investigate its determinants. Finally, to gain further insights, we examine the timevarying behaviour of net pair-wise directional connectedness at different stages of the recent sovereign debt crisis.
