La freqüentació dels parcs naturals a Catalunya

This article offers a series of reflections and proposals concerning the visitors usage of Catalonia's Natural Parks. The basis of these affirmations is the analysis of the parks which exist at the present in Catalonia, as well as the study of the current legislation in Catalonia and in Spain. Although the article deals exclusively with protected natural areas, it must be remembered that people's recreational activities affect the entire natural environment. It is therefore necessary to extend planning to the impact of such activities in all natural areas. The author proposes as a possible solution a hierarchy of leisure zones in natural spaces, divided into three different levels: Municipal Parks, Regional Parks as well as Natural and National Parks

Sobre la identitat dels Matiners a les comarques del N.E. de Catalunya

This study attempts to throw some light on the identity of the Matiners of the regions of north-eastern Catalonia by analizing a notebook which was a register of rebels. This notebook gives the age, geographical origin and profession of the rebels. The War of the matiners (1846-49) was a Catalan rebellion framed within the context of popular opposition to the regime of the moderates, and in the midst of a general crisis. Themen who formed the groups of ((trabucaires)) were particulary young (the problem of recriting must not be forgotten), and came from the country, the crafts, and industry, and were militarized above all in the interior regions

Due to the edition of the new Atles comarcal de Catalunya by the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya in digital format, we look at the structure of their contents and the dynamics of its use. Finally, some reflections on the innovations that this new product entails in textual and cartographic areas are proposed, especially related to the current socioeconomic context and new employed technologies

Els Atles comarcals de Catalunya: un producte innovador per a uns continguts tradicionals

La present comunicació pretén ressenyar l’aportació dels Atles comarcals de Catalunya al coneixement del nostre territori com una obra no només de caire acadèmic sinó també divulgatiu i aplicat. En primer lloc, es constata la filiació de l’obra al llegat de la geografia clàssica catalana i a les aportacions tradicionals —monografies i les obres generals― que han disseccionat el país des de l’òptica comarcal. En segon lloc, es detalla el seu procés de concepció i elaboració. Finalment, es destaquen les innovacions que el nou format CD-Rom i les possibilitats d’interacció cartogràfica amb servidors externs suposen en el sentit d’innovació respecte de les aportacions anteriors

En aquest treball es descriuen les característiques litològiques principals de tres afloraments volcànics inèdits que han estat localitzats al terme municipal de Roses. Es tracta de materials basàltics, similars als que s'associen a altres manifestacions efusives neògenes de la comarca de l'Alt Empordà

El Holoceno medio palustre de la llanura litoral del río Ter (Baix Empordá, Girona)

The paludal deposits presented here belong to a geomorphological unit identified between Palafrugell Corridor and the littoral plains of Ter River (Baix Ter), associated to a carbonate-rich spring system. The sections show a distintic clay level, mixed with black silts, very rich in snail remains. The malacological assemblage contained stillwaters species (Bithynia leachii, Galba truncatula, Pisidium milium, Radix peregra) along with damp species (Monacha cartusiana, Oxyloma elegans, Succinea putris, Succinella oblonga, Vallonia pulchella, Vertigo sp.). Some open-dry species are also present (Cernuella virgata, Eobania vermiculata, Pomatias elegans, Rumina decollata) revailing a mosaic-like landscape. Radiocarbon dates place this level ca. 7.000BPwithin the Holocene sequence of the Baix Ter basin. Colluvial deposits on top of these paludal levels have a typical open-dry malacological assemblage (Cernuella virgata, Cochlicella acuta, Eobania vermiculata, Pomatias elegans, Rumina decollata, Trochoidea elegans) the same assemblage that inhabits the Empordà littoral plains nowadays

The depth of the water table and the clay content are determinant factors for the exploitability of natural aggregates, such as the alluvial sands and gravels found on the fluvial domain of the Ter River. In this preliminary study, carried out in the Celri basin, we conclude that these variables can be determined by means of geophysical methods and recornmends the use of such methods in studies of regional character
