Rochas calciossilicáticas e feldspáticas na região de Castro Alves e Rafael Jambeiro (BA)

The towns of Castro Alves and Rafael Jambeiro, central-east of Bahia state, are located in the east of São Francisco Craton, in granulite terrains of Salvador-Curaçá Belt, formed in Paleoproterozoic. The region of study contains ortognaisses of Caraíba Complex, metamafic and metaultramafic rocks of São José do Jacuípe Suite, metasedimentary rocks of Tanque Novo-Ipirá Complex, granitoids, pegmatites and alkaline rocks. The study carried out regional and detailed geological mapping in addition to petrographical and geochemical characterization of six areas in the search for targets of feldspar and white diopside, minerals used in ceramic industry. The areas consist of granitic ortognaisses interspersed with lenses of mafic granulite rocks, calc-silicate rock, banded iron formations, paragnaisses, quartzites, and bodies of quartz-feldspar or feldspar pegmatites and alkaline rocks that fill discontinuities. The region of study contains four deformations phases, with a predominance of ductile structures. The foliation Sn has N30E to N70W direction, high angle of dip and is characterized by compositional banding of granoblastic and felsic bands interspersed with nematoblastic or lepidoblastic mafic bands. A mineral or stretching lineation Ln is associated with Sn and has trend of S55E to S72E. The rocks have been suffered a regional metamorphism with granulite facies peak and partial retrogression to greenschist facies. Geochemical studies indicate that the green coloring calc-silicate rocks have lower SiO2, MgO and higher Fe2O3 content compared with white calcssilicate rocks. The alkaline rocks of the studied area have higher Na2O, SiO2 and lower K2O, Fe2O3 content compared with others Paleoproterozoic alkaline rocks of Bahia state. The targets of diopside are associated with white calc-silicate rocks, while the targets of feldspar are associated with paragnaisses, pegmatites and alkaline rocks

Tipo de cimentação em materiais duros do perfil de alteração da mina de fosfato da Anglo American, Catalão-GO

One of the main challenges in the mining sector at present, related to the optimization of mineral assets, consists in to find the best proportion of each geological material to be mined and homogenized to ensure high productivity and stability in ore processing plants. The stability of a mineral processing plant is factor for achieving operational excellence, as a stable performance of the plants ensures economy and adherence to financial planning businesses. Is already well Know that the feed rate of the processing plants is dependent on the hardness and quality of the ore. Therefore, the ore behavior predictability is the solution to ensure the stability of mineral processing plants. This work was developed in Anglo American Phosphate Brazil Ltda., at the Fazenda Chapadão Phosphate Mine, located in the southeastern portion of the state of Goiás, in the municipalities of Catalão and Ouvidor. The phosphate ore is the result of supergene apatite concentration in the weathering profile of the alkaline ultramafic phlogopitized rocks, intruded by foscoritic and carbonatitic rocks series. The weathering profile has about 100 meters thick and is divided into three basic types, from top to bottom, coinciding with decreasing intensity of weathering: oxidized ore, micaceous ore and weathered rock. In each portion of this weathering profile, mainly near the contacts between these three divisions, are hard materials, cemented by minerals such as apatite, quartz, goethite, monazite and barite. The different features presented by these materials makes to be vital the correct identification, quantification and location of different hard materials in the mine area, to maximize its use. The main objective of this study was to define the type of cementation of hard materials which predominates in each portion of the weathering profile in the mine, as well as their relationship with the protolith. Several factors induce soybean growers to seek new alternatives to increase productivity, in order to always surpass the previous harvest. In an attempt to meet this need in order to become more competitive, new technologies emerge. Currently, for example, the plantation system crossover, double row and dense, gaining media coverage and among researchers, aroused interest in research institutions. To date, there are still few studies with a scientific concrete, quantifies the real benefit of these cropping systems. The technique consists of sowing planting crossed the same area twice at right angles, forming checkerboard. In the planting row and the denser planting increases the number of plants per hectare, but the way they are arranged is what differentiates. Apparently these systems imply some issues, such as the use of inputs that the principle would double, as the plant population in the area will be changed, so possibly the incidence of insect pests and pathogens increase in these cropping systems. The purpose of this literature review is to provide updated information on technology, benefit from it, as it is being used and the research being conducted to provide scientific basis for soybean producer.
