A extensão é compreendida como uma interação entre a Universidade e a comunidade na qual está inserida e como uma via de mão dupla onde a Universidade leva conhecimentos e/ou assistência à comunidade e recebe dela influxos positivos e reais necessidades, ou seja, constitui-se uma relação de troca de conhecimentos. As atividades de extensão desenvolvidas no Instituto de Biociências (IB) da UNESP - Campus Botucatu, por meio de projetos, são diversificadas quanto ao público alvo, quanto ao local de realização e também quanto aos objetivos. Ao longo dos anos, foram realizadas inúmeras atividades de extensão dirigidas aos professores e alunos das escolas de ensino básico, das quais destacamos os projetos de extensão relacionados ao ensino de Ciências e Biologia. Este estudo teve por objetivos identificar as atividades de extensão, desenvolvidas por docentes do IB, voltadas ao ensino básico, e investigar a percepção dos docentes sobre a articulação entre Universidade e escolas de ensino infantil, fundamental e médio. Os dados foram coletados por meio de análise de documentos, questionário e entrevista. Pela análise de documentos, foram identificados os projetos de extensão relacionados ao ensino de Ciências e Biologia e que possuem relação (direta ou indireta) com escolas do ensino básico desenvolvidos pelo IB nos anos 2006, 2007 e 2008, cadastrados na PROEX, vinculados ao Núcleo de Ensino, ao Programa Ciência Na UNESP e ao NADi - Museu Escola. Por meio do questionário, com questões abertas e fechadas, foram coletados dados junto a 15 professores coordenadores e pela entrevista foram coletados dados junto ao Presidente da Comissão Permanente de Extensão Universitária. Segundo os dados obtidos, foi possível perceber um aumento no número de projetos ao longo dos três anos, assim como um aumento na participação de professores e alunos do Instituto...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo)

As ilhas da plataforma continental estão isoladas do continente, há cerca de 10.000 anos, após a última elevação do nível dos oceanos. O isolamento, a ocupação de novos habitats e/ou diferentes pressões ecológicas podem ter levado a alterações em caracteres genotípicos, fenotípicos e também comportamentais. Este trabalho visa o estudo dos padrões reprodutivos em populações de Thoropa taophora e suas adaptações no continente e em seis ilhas do litoral Norte do Estado de São Paulo. Como hipóteses tem se que fêmeas das populações insulares possuem ovócitos maiores e em menor número devido à redução na disponibilidade de sítios reprodutivos, e machos insulares devem apresentar testículos maiores e maior agressividade associada à defesa de territórios mais escassos. Foram avaliadas as variações de caracteres reprodutivos, como peso de testículos dos machos, número e tamanho dos ovócitos das fêmeas e esforço reprodutivo de 147 indivíduos adultos de T. taophora (87 machos e 60 fêmeas) de populações provenientes das ilhas de Toque-Toque, Redonda, Prumirim, Gatos, Couves, Porcos Pequena; e três localidades no continente: Tuim Parque - Barra do Una e Praia de Toque-Toque Grande no Município de São Sebastião-SP e Praia Domingas Dias no Município de Ubatuba-SP. Todos os indivíduos analisados foram coletados durante o verão (outubro a março) e encontram-se depositados na Coleção de Anfíbios (CFBH), UNESP - Rio Claro e Coleção do Museu de História Natural (ZUEC), UNICAMP. O comprimento rostrocloacal (CRC) das fêmeas variou de 26,7 – 78,3 mm, ao passo que o CRC dos machos variou de 55 – 93,8 mm. Os machos foram significativamente maiores que as fêmeas em quatro localidades. Nas fêmeas, o diâmetro dos ovócitos da população continental da praia Domingas Dias é maior que nas populações das ilhas dos Gatos, Toque-Toque e Redonda... The work consists of the historical city of Guaratinguetá, as well as data on their quality of life, economic development and population, transportation in Brazil and the transportation system of the city serving as a basis to support the development of the urban network. The urban fabric of the city was raised with plants of the city in different years, documents obtained by the Museum and Hall of Frei Galvão Guaratinguetá well to check the form of land use and growth drivers of the city over time. We studied also the main access roads to the city by focusing on an approach that has been the subject of a proposed urban intervention. A direct interview was performed and recorded with one of those responsible for planning the urban fabric of the city in order to gather information on the historical development, the future possibilities of interventions in the urban as well as problems encountered and other curiosities. Through the study it was observed that the urban grid Guaratinguetá developing a planned since 1970 and that the highlights of most cities in the Paraíba Valley. A memória de uma cidade está intimamente ligada aos edifícios e as intervenções urbanas que fizeram parte de sua história, principalmente no que diz respeito a espaços e estabelecimentos públicos, como o antigo Mercado Municipal de Tupã, SP que, juntamente com a igreja matriz de São Pedro, o Museu Histórico e Pedagógico Índia Vanuíre, o Solar Luiz de Souza Leão (antiga casa do fundador da cidade), a escola Bartíra e a linha férrea formam o eixo histórico da cidade. Tendo o antigo Mercado Municipal como objeto de trabalho, pretende-se propor a requalificação do local, transformando-o em um Centro de Educação e Artes com espaço para exposições permanentes e temporárias, onde a população possa interagir e participar das atividades do local. O resgate da memória delimitada pelo eixo histórico e a preservação das características dessa área também serão estudados servindo como fundamentação e ligação entre o projeto proposto e o espaço analisado

Based on the ideas of Gaspar and Marandino, discuss the teaching of physics through Museums and Science Centers, drawing on ideas such as: Scientific Literacy, Informal Education and Zone of Proximal Development. We visited and analyzed the museums: Museum of Energy Rio Claro - Mill Park Corumbataí, Catavento Culture and Education - Social Organization of Culture, Centre for Scientific and Cultural (CDCC) and Studies Center of the Universe - CEU. Point out elements of these museums that benefit the formal teaching of physics in schools, as well as positive elements of schooling that maximize the experience of museum visits

Presented in a rehearsal form, this article aims to bring out a historical discussion about the relationship between art-madness in Brazil. Result of a research that had as object the critical fortune written on the first exhibit of the Museum of Images of the Unconscious, this work aims to connect two little closer fields: art criticism and mental health, especially since Mário Pedrosa’s work. It was possible to ascertain, throughout the investigation, that there was a position taken by art critics at that time (the 1940s), that position is basically divided into two, briefly explored here: those who encouraged the exhibits, and thereby attested the artistic value of the work produced in the studio of Pedro II Psychiatric Center (where it was founded the Museum); and those who decried the artistic character of "unconscious images", as would be known the works that were produced there. Thus, we can say that, indeed, the virgin art – so entitled by Pedrosa – functioned as a kind of sting to the renewal of our health practices, but mainly influenced the completion of a cycle of modernism in our country.

Ornamental plants are important in the culture and welfare of city dwellers in the Amazon. This study aimed to perform a characterization of species of ornamental use in urban backyards of Rio Branco and relation with social aspects of the respondents. Semi-structured interviews featuring ornamental species along with analysis of social aspects of urban respondents of the 132 backyards in Rio Branco, Acre, Amazon between 2009 and 2011. Selected for this study were neighborhoods Aeroporto Velho, Placas and Novo Horizonte, located on the periphery of the municipality. Were detected 140 ornamental species belonging to 49 different botanical families, especially Euphorbiaceae (7%), Arecaceae (6.4%) and Araceae (5%). Ornamental species recorded, 57.5% are exotic, 16% have medicinal use and 44% herbaceous. Regression analysis of data across the diversity of species, area and social parameters of the respondents was not significant. The cultivation of ornamental plants in urban backyards Rio Branco assists in the ambience of the residence, landscape improvement, generates welfare for residents at leisure space beyond the conservation of genetic resources.

Oeceoclades aculate (Lindl.) Lindl., an invasive orchid, was analyzed as to its reproductive phenology and spatial distribution, correlation between abundance of mature and immature individuals, and verifying these with microclimate patterns in the Cerrado (savanna-like vegetation) of Mogi Guacu, Sao Paulo State, Brazil. For the reproductive phenology 100 plants were followed and the distribution pattern was identified by the Morisita Index (MI) and the Variance Ratio/Average (R) in 20 plots of 20x10m, reduced to 10x10m afterwards. The phenology presented seasonality, with flowering from November to February, fructification from February to June, and dehiscence from June to July. Mature and immature individuals aggregated and correlated to each other, indicating dependence between the ontogenetic stages. The luminosity was the preponderant microclimatic factor in the allocation of plants. Seasonal climatic changes and intensity of anthropogenic disturbances seem to be more important for the establishment of the species than microclimate.

The present study, is characterized as qualitative investigative, has as main objective to analyze the convergence between the fields of the visual arts and design. To base the analysis, it was developed a bibliographical research that raised the concept of hybrid language, the mixing of different races in Brazilian design, the relations between art and design and the Design Prize Museum of Brazilian House (MCB). As shown on the basis of this theoretical survey, it was presented the designers Luciana Martins and Gerson de Oliveira, from the company, OVO, and the objects selected for this study, that are the two products awarded from the MCB, which contain artistic characteristics and are commercialized and recognized as objects of Brazilian design. These products were analyzed and the hybrid characteristics of them were raised.

This experiment report refers to the project named “Sarauzinho”, which is linked to the extension “Workshops of Psychoanalysis and Artistics Gatherings” project. “Sarauzinho” was a partnership between UNESP and CREAS, created with the aim to assist children victims of sexual violence though a playful and artistic method and to implement a psychoanalytic listening of demands that appeared during the working group implementation. At the same time, the parents/responsible person who took the children to the meetings also received psychotherapeutic service at the waiting room, in an operative group format with psychoanalytic listening. The project has happened in 11 sessions (once a week, two hours each), with 4 kids and 4 caregivers participating. The service for the kids was organized in workshop models (open and free) and in little gatherings, with preprogrammed contents (playful and artistic). The initiative was inspired by the “Green houses”, a creation of the French psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto, and by the Museum “Imagens do Inconsciente do Centro Psiquiátrico Pedro II”, in Nise da Silveira, Rio de Janeiro city. This university extension activity has enabled the students to access some of the children’s traumas, as well as to obtain a better understanding of an infantile group psychotherapeutic service, with psychoanalytic listening. Besides, it has provided a playful and artistic environment to listen to the children and enable them to create new meanings of their traumas. For the adult participants, the meetings were moments to talk about their anxieties and to receive new guidance and instructions about their children’s education, especially about sexuality. The results, either related to the children’s meeting, as to the adult’s meeting, were favorable to the continuity of the project.

In this paper we investigate the social interaction established between monitors and student-visitors to a science museum in terms of knowledge mobilized by the explanation about principle operating of Van De Graff Generator. Our research was conducted at a university public that maintains a Center of Sciences and the data were collected through recording video and audio of the dialogues established around a demonstration experiment. Data analysis is established around the conceptual correctness of the explanations made by the monitors. We also conducted a structured interview from a single question: what is the main difficulty faced in planning and conducting his presentation at the Science Center? The results show that the monitors were not able to exceed the process description of the operation of the experimental equipment, not being able to establish an interaction that fosters discussions of scientific concepts with visitors. Our research also found that, although the university maintained a Sciences Center, not there is a link between teacher training and activities in non-formal settings.
