Investigação espectroscópica dos carbonilos heterobimetálicos cis-[Fe(CO)4(HgX)2], X = Cl, Br,I

The series of compounds cis-[Fe(CO)4(HgX)2], X=Cl,Br,I shows an octahedral geometry around the iron atom with the two HgX groups cis to each other. In this paper the assignment for the carbonyl stretching modes and the calculation of their force constants were performed on the basis of the Cotton-Krainhanzel model. Taking into account all the data from the IR, 199Hg NMR and UV-vis spectra it is possible to verify the influence of X on the electronic densities at the metallic centers.

J. K. Paasikiven kokoelma

Suurin osa Suomen tasavallan seitsemännen presidentin J. K. Paasikiven (1870-1966) kirjakokoelmasta säilytetään Turun yliopiston pääkirjaston Paasikivi-huoneessa. Osa kokoelmasta on myös suljetussa varastossa. Kokoelmaan kuuluu n. 7500 nidettä, pääosin yhteiskuntatiedettä ja politiikkaa, kansantaloutta ja historiaa. Melkein 4000 nidettä on luetteloitu Volter-tietokantaan, muuten aineisto löytyy korttiluettelosta. Turun yliopiston kirjasto sai vuonna 1957 vastaanottaa presidentin jälkisäädöksellä lahjoittaman kirjaston.

Chromatographic fractionation of bark extracts from Simira glaziovii (Rubiaceae) afforded the steroids beta-sitostenone, stigmastenone, beta-sitosterol and stigmasterol, methyl trans-4-hidroxy-3-methoxycinamate (1), the alkaloids harmane (2) and the new stereoisomer of ophiorine B (3). The structures were established by ¹H and 13C NMR, including 2D techniques and mass spectral analysis, of the natural products and pentaacetyllyalosidic acid (4a) and beta-carboline monoterpene tetraacetylglucoside (5, 1,22-lactamlyaloside) derivatives obtained by chemical transformations.
