Currently there are two car models that use electricity in their propulsion systems, the electric vehicle and the hybrid electric vehicle. The electric vehicles are classified as vehicles that use electric motors in their propulsion system and batteries as a power source, on the other hand, the hybrid vehicles are classified as vehicles that use both electric motors and internal combustion engines in their propulsion system, using both batteries and líquid fuels as a power source. The main goal of this work is to analyze the characteristics of electric and hybrid electric vehicles and demonstrate the unfeasibility of the electric vehicle in the current economic, political, energetic and environmental brazilian scenario, for this purpose it was realized a study about the current brazilian situation regarding to electricity generation, current conservation status of road network, lack of electrical infrastructure for charging batteries, national lithium reserves, environmental characteristics, tax incentives, economic scenario, oil market and political positioning related to the implantation of electric or hybrid electric fleets in nacional territory. The operational characteristics analysis of electric and hybrid electric vehicles in this current scenario leads to the conclusion that currently a growth of electric vehicles fleets on a national scale is totally impractical in the Brazil, Thus, the introduction of green vehicles probably will occur primarily with hybrid electric models, motivated mainly due the bigger autonomy of this models compared to electric models, lower cost of hybrid electric models compared to electric models, factors related to the lack of recharging infrastructure and also factors related to political positioning

The automobile industry shows relevance inside the Brazilian industrial scenario since it contributes with the development of a significant chain of supply, distributors, workshops, publicity agencies and insurance companies in the internal market, aside from being one of the five biggest worldwide market. Thereby, the federal government decreed in Dec, 17th 2012 by Law nº 12.715 the Inovar-Auto Program. As the Adjusted Present Value (APV) is highly recommended, although not yet widespread to public politics of tax reduction, this work intends to apply the APV method on the cash flow analysis of an automobile sector's company, which has recently installed in national territory and wants to rely with governmental incentives proposed by Inovar-Auto Program. The developed work evaluates the company's current cash flow stochastically from mathematical modeling of variables such as price, demand and interest rate through probability distributions with the assist of Crystal Ball software, a Microsoft Excel Add-in, generating different scenarios from Monte Carlo Simulation. As results probabilities situations have been evaluated until the end of the Inovar-Auto's conducted period, in 2017. Beside APV others indicator such as Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and payback period were estimated for the investment project. For APV a sampling distribution with only 0.057% of risk, IRR of 29% were obtained and estimated project payback period was 4.13 years

This work presents a study on the design of a photovoltaic system connected to the grid.It discussed the main characteristics of the solar cell which is the basic component for the manufacture of solar modulethe main components of the photovoltaic system and the steps of the photovoltaic and electrical design of the system, ranging from the choice of the photovoltaic module to the dimensioning of the components of the electrical installation.In addition to the technical design, this work contains a complete comparative analysis of the current situation of photovoltaic generation distributed in Brazil and Portugal, through incentive programs to energy use as well as current legislation in both countries

The objective of this study was to analyze the nurses' perceptions regarding tuberculosis control, according to the theoretical axis of comprehensive healthcare and the concepts of attachment and teamwork. This qualitative study involved 13 nurses from the Family Health Strategy of a priority city in the metropolitan region of Joao Pessoa, Paraiba, Brazil. Data were collected in focal groups and subjected to thematic content analysis. Factors that strengthen tuberculosis control were: supervised treatment, free medication and the provision of supplies. Weakening factors were: worker's turnover, the lack of encouragement for patients and incipient educational actions. The factors that, according to the nurses, weaken tuberculosis patient care should be reviewed by administrators, workers, users and educators with a view to redefining healthcare activities that strengthen attachment, comprehensive healthcare and teamwork.

Purpose: The claudin-low molecular subtype of breast cancer includes triple negative invasive carcinomas, with a high frequency of metaplastic and medullary features. The aim of this study was to evaluate the immunohistochemistry expression of claudins in a series of metaplastic breast carcinomas. We also assessed other claudin-low features, such as the cancer stem cell-like and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition phenotypes. Results: The majority of the cases showed weak or negative staining for membrane claudins expression. We found 76.9% (10/13) low expressing cases for claudin-1, 84.6% (11/13) for claudin-3 and claudin-4, and 92.3% (12/13) for claudin-7. Regarding the cancer stem cell marker ALDH1, 30.8% (4/13) showed positive staining. We also showed that the majority of the cases presented a CD44(+)CD24(-/low) phenotype, positivity for vimentin and lack of E-cadherin expression. Interestingly, these claudin-low molecular features were specific of the mesenchymal component of metaplastic breast carcinomas, since its frequency was very low in other breast cancer molecular subtypes, as luminal, HER2-overexpressing and non-metaplastic triple negative tumors. Conclusions: The negative/low expression of claudins and E-cadherin, high levels of vimentin, and the breast cancer stem cell phenotype suggests that metaplastic breast carcinomas have similar features to the ones included in the claudin-low molecular subtype, specially their mesenchymal components. Objetivou-se analisar potencialidades e limites da estratégia do tratamento supervisionado (DOTS) para a tuberculose, sob a percepção de usuários em tratamento e de trabalhadores de saúde de uma supervisão técnica de saúde do município de São Paulo. Entrevistaram-se 4 usuários e 17 profissionais de saúde de nove unidades básicas de saúde, entre abril e junho de 2006, após consentimento livre e esclarecido. Os depoimentos foram decodificados segundo a técnica de análise de discurso. Adotou-se a teoria da determinação social do processo saúde/doença como referencial teórico. Foram potencialidades: criação de vínculo entre profissional/usuário e incentivos ao tratamento, o que favorece a adesão. Foram limites: restrito envolvimento dos profissionais no DOTS e conciliar horário de trabalho do usuário com a supervisão. Reitera-se que a adesão ao tratamento transcende o âmbito biológico, sendo fundamental que os trabalhadores de saúde reconheçam os usuários como portadores de necessidades, não se restringindo apenas à supervisão da tomada de medicamentos.

De que adiantam planos e projetos para determinadas políticas públicas se as decisões do Executivo nem sempre os consideram? Este trabalho busca demonstrar que os planos e os projetos para o setor de transporte têm sofrido com a priorização dos modais individuais. Desde as políticas de incentivos às indústrias automobilísticas até isenções fiscais. A existência de planos e projetos para o metrô de São Paulo e seu conseqüente abandono por longos períodos apontam para a supremacia do automóvel sobre o coletivo, principalmente no período de 1968 até 1983. Todo o planejamento, inclusive nos períodos de supremacia dos planos e projetos para o território urbano, cai por terra se estes instrumentos não vão ao encontro dos interesses político-econômicos do momento.

O presente artigo realiza uma análise que compara o desempenho dos provedores públicos e privados de serviços de saneamento básico no Brasil. As diferenças de desempenho entre os provedores que, de acordo com a literatura, estão submetidos a diferentes incentivos foram avaliadas com base nos dados do Sistema Nacional de Informações sobre Saneamento (Snis) de 2010 a partir de uma estimativa em cross-section para uma amostra de 4.930 municípios brasileiros. Os resultados não fornecem evidências fortes de que um grupo seja superior a outro na maior parte dos indicadores. Dado que os grupos revelaram superioridade em indicadores específicos, a contribuição deste estudo é propor o desenho de uma política que considere diversas modalidades de gestão e provisão como possível solução para o desafio de universalizar os serviços no país.

Analisar percepções de enfermeiras sobre o controle da tuberculose, segundo o eixo teórico da integralidade em saúde e os conceitos de vínculo e trabalho em equipe. Pesquisa qualitativa que envolveu 13 enfermeiras da Estratégia Saúde da Família de município prioritário da região Metropolitana de João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brasil. As informações foram coletadas mediante grupo focal e analisadas conforme a técnica de análise de conteúdo e modalidade temática. Elementos potencializadores do controle da tuberculose: tratamento supervisionado, medicação gratuita e oferta de insumos. Elementos fragilizadores: rotatividade dos profissionais, retaguarda laboratorial, falta de incentivos para os doentes e ações educativas incipientes. Os elementos que fragilizam o cuidado ao doente de tuberculose, identificados pelos enfermeiros, devem ser refletidos por gestores, profissionais, usuários e formadores, de modo que na prática seja possível redefinir ações de cuidado que fortaleçam o vínculo, a integralidade e o trabalho em equipe.

Os elaboradores de políticas educacionais têm dado enfoque às políticas de "responsabilização" como forma de melhorar a qualidade da educação. Com base no desempenho dos alunos em testes padronizados, constroem-se medidas para classificação das escolas e estabelecem-se metas para guiar políticas de incentivo, assistência e sanção às escolas, como no caso do Chile e dos EUA. Em alguns casos, pode ser difícil obter rankings confiáveis, devido à elevada estratificação social no sistema educacional e ao problema de reversão para a média, que causam ruído nas estimativas. Neste trabalho foram analisadas diferentes medidas utilizadas para se construir rankings de escolas a partir das avaliações feitas pelo SAEB na 4ª série do Ensino Fundamental. Uma das medidas analisadas parece atender aos requisitos de ser estável e, ao mesmo tempo, não refletir principalmente o status socioeconômico dos alunos.
