O conceito de região e o ensino de Geografia: desencontros entre o saber escolar e o saber acadêmico

The school geographic knowledge must remain in line with theoretical advances produced by academic geographical knowledge. This is important for guarantee much better quality of education which is offered in schools. In this context, there are some important questions: do the teaching manual of geography for the basic level are updated according to the geographical knowledge produced by academia? Do the teachers of Geography in the basic education level have accompanied the theoretical and methodological innovations produced recently by geographical science? Through a research conducted with 51 teachers of Geography, who working in public schools in Marília, and after an analysis of geographic knowledge transmitted by textbooks used in most schools, the goal of this paper is to present some response to these questions. The research with teachers and the analysis of the contents of the textbooks were guided by one principal issue: the meaning of region.

Ciências da Funcionalidade Humana e Sustentabilidade Ambiental: a junção das partes constitui o todo?

The content of this article addresses two complex issues that concern contemporary society: Science of Human Functioning and Environmental Sustainability. On the one hand, the Science of Human Functioning, meeting the principles of the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) and Universal Design, aim the development of accessible projects, products and environments, used by everyone, at the greatest extent possible, free from adaptation or plans to remove architectural barriers. The Universal Design is a process for creating products that are accessible to everyone, regardless their personal characteristics, age, skills and needs. On the other hand, Environmental Sustainability, with principles already imbricated in the Science of Human Functioning, traverses towards the acquisition of realistic measures for the segments of human activities. Based on the emphasis of the sustainable development, it aims to meet current needs not compromising the possibility of future generations to meet their own needs. Thus, it seeks the balance in coexistence between men and the environment by taking care of environmental, social and economic aspects and seeking for alternatives to support life on Earth with no harm to the quality of the planet in the future. It is argued that the combination of the issues contains relevant potential for interdisciplinary action, bringing together professionals from several fields of knowledge that, by socializing their experiences aiming at improving the human functioning and quality of life of people and environment, will be able to innovate and reinvent the knowledge for benefiting welfare, thus contributing effectively to society.

Formação humana e cuidado de si: um encontro explosivo ou a possibilidade de pensar de outro modo a racionalidade e a ética na educação?

This essay discusses the issue of the contemporary fall of human shaping as an opening possibility to think it in another way. For that purpose it analyzes the latest favorite courses at the Collège de France by Michel Foucault in order to verify the notion possibility of care of oneself and of psychology to regard the human shaping with a different look. By approaching the point of view of the esthetics of existence, it offers reasons with the possibility of life concept as a work of art to be an alternative to the fall of the modern concept of shaping in the contemporary times.

Os contos infantis como literatura, na formação humana e na educação

As reflexões tecidas neste texto decorreram de inúmeros questionamentos acerca da necessidade de se considerar a importância dos contos infantis como literatura, na formação humana e na educação. Nesse sentido, aborda-se, num primeiro momento, aspectos históricos da origem e trajetória dos contos infantis. Após e ainda que brevemente, abordam-se alguns fundamentos discutidos entre Habermas e Mead sobre a construção da intersubjetividade humana que pode ser propiciada pelos contos infantis e a conquista da individuação e socialização. Por fim, são abordados aspectos a partir dos quais se espera contribuir para as reflexões sobre educação, centralmente sobre a educação de crianças em processo de escolarização.

Formação do leitor: projeto educativo e constituição humana

The discussion about reading as a cultural practice is a requirement that points to the school relevance to take itself as a social space of meanings construction and the need to use methodologies that focus on the knowledge construction process and the individual development in considering the teaching dynamics that encourage the strategies discovery for individual and collective work, facilitating that human culture object appropriation . The focus is on the relationships in the classroom and school context mediated by language to written language acquisition, with emphasis on reading. This study intends to contribute for the refl ection on the pedagogical implications derived from the organization of a teaching context, intentionally aimed at the teaching organization of reading strategies in the written language acquisition process. The hypothesis is that the reading strategies contribute to the contexts organization with pedagogical coherent and to the competent reader formation during the education act. The studies are based on Brazilian educators Girotto; SOUZA, 2010) and on North American educators (HAMPTON & Resnick, 2008; OWOCKI, 2003; WEDWICH & Wutz, 2008; HARVEY AND GOUDVINS, 2007), with the action research methodology.

Nas ondas da informação: interfaces entre o pensamento geográfico e a geografia econômica para o estudo das telecomunicações no Brasil

Dentina humana e bovina: estudo comparativo das propriedades físicas e características da hibridização de sistemas adesivos convencionais ou grander modificados: análise em mev

A adesão longitudinal continua a representar um dos maiores desafios da Odontologia moderna. Uma nova proposta para o estabelecimento do equilíbrio da adesão aos tecidos dentários surge, baseada na observação dos resultados obtidos com a tecnologia Grander para revitalização da água. Objetiva-se com o estudo verificar a influência dessa tecnologia nas propriedades físicas de dois sistemas adesivos (convencional e autocondicionante) à partir da medição da tensão superficial e do ângulo de contato; e avaliar a formação e a qualidade da camada híbrida em dentina humana e bovina. A tensão superficial de quatro diferentes líquidos (água, Single Bond- 3M, Primer do Clearfil SE Bond -Kuraray, e Bond do Clearfil SE-Kuraray), foi medida antes e após a modificação pelo procedimento Grander em aparelho goniômetro (Ramé-hart). O ângulo de contato com três substratos distintos (placa de titânio, dentina humana e dentina bovina), foi medido para os quatro líquidos também antes e após a modificação pelo procedimento Grander, também em goniômetro. A formação e qualidade da camada híbrida, foi avaliada em MEV, a partir da confecção de corpos de prova dos substratos humano e bovino, devidamente embutidos, preparados em lixas de variada granulação até a exposição de dentina, submetidos ao procedimento adesivo (SB ou CSEB) normal ou grander modificado, recebendo ao final dupla camada de resina composta Z250-3M, fotopolimerizada por 40s. Após armazenamento em estufa bacteriológica por 24h, os procedimentos para análise ao MEV foram realizados (fixação, desidratação, secagem e metalização). A estatística de Análise de Variância ANOVA e Teste de Tukey 5% revelou que: houve redução estatisticamente significante da tensão superficial para todos os líquidos Grander modificados; houve redução estatisticamente... Os desafios e dilemas no exercício da docência no curso de geografia da UNESP de Rio Claro

The issue about the vocational training of university teachers points the needing for further studies and reflections on the importance of the formative processes of teachers who currently work also in higher education. The present work intended to study the vocational training processes of some teachers of Geography Course at the University Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho Rio Claro campus proposing methodological theoretical referrals about doing teaching in Geography area. Therefore, we made semi-structured interviews and questionnaires with teachers who fallowed us with the teaching activities. The purpose was trying to prepare a methodological referral from the challenges challenges and dilemmas of the practice of teaching identified during research, contributing for the qualifications of qualifications of higher teaching
