INJURIES RELATED TO COMPETITIVE AND NONCOMPETITIVE SPORTS IN ELDERLY MEN

Objective: To verify the sociodemographic profile and the frequency of musculoskeletal injuries in elderly people who practice competitive and noncompetitive sports activities in the city of Pelotas, RS. Methods: Descriptive study, including 29 male subjects, aged 65 years or older, who practiced sports modalities in a competitive and noncompetitive way, in the city of Pelotas, in 2015. Data collection was performed through the application of a questionnaire with questions addressing economic, sociodemographic, nutritional and behavioral issues, and injuries sustained in sports activities. Statistical analysis was performed by calculating measures of central tendency for continuous variables and proportions for categorical variables. Results: The current practice of competitive sports was described by 58.6% (n=17) of the subjects, and the most practiced sports were 7-a-side football (53.0%, n=9), tennis (23.5%, n=4) and swimming (23.5%, n=4). Noncompetitive sports were practiced by 44.8% (n=13), and tennis was the most popular sport played (92.3%, n=12). The frequency of injuries among individuals practicing competitive and noncompetitive sports was, respectively, 35.3% (n=6), and 38.5% (n=5). The most frequent injuries were epicondylitis (50.0%, n=3) and meniscus injuries (60.0%, n=3), and the most affected body regions were knee (27.3%, n=3), elbow (27.3%, n=3), and shoulder (18.2%, n=2). The injuries occurred during the sports activities, and the dominant side was the one affected in 63.6% (n=7). Conclusion: This study verified that the occurrence of injuries in elderly individuals who practice sports is relevant, even among those who practice them noncompetitively, with epicondylitis as the most frequent among them, whereas meniscus injuries are the most frequent among those who practice competitive sports.

Roda dos sentidos: a formação continuada de professores em espaços de coletividade

A dissertação de mestrado aqui apresentada está vinculada ao Programa de Pós Graduação em Educação – PPGEdu, da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande – FURG, situada na linha de pesquisa Culturas, Linguagens e Utopias. O objetivo do estudo é contribuir para que os professores possam pensar em outras práticas de formação docente dentro dos espaços educativos nos quais atuam, desenvolvendo suas ações pedagógicas, a partir da reflexão sobre cotidiano docente no coletivo. A pesquisa envolve um grupo de professores que se propôs a estudar a categoria trabalho e seus entrelaçamentos com o trabalho docente a partir da perspectiva marxista. Tal grupo organizou-se tendo em vista a metodologia das Rodas de Formação, conforme a perspectiva de Warschauer, intitulando-se Roda dos Sentidos. Como corpus de análise foram utilizados os registros escritos em um portfólio coletivo, realizado a cada semana por um dos professores da Roda. Tal escrita era alternada entre os sujeitos para que, assim, todos contribuíssem, ao seu modo, na composição dos registros da Roda dos Sentidos. Foram analisadas as escritas dos anos de 2011 e 2012, buscando-se responder ao questionamento: ―que significados de formação docente são vivenciados em espaços coletivos como os da Roda dos Sentidos?‖ A análise dos dados foi inspirada na Análise Textual Discursiva – ATD, de Moraes e Galiazzi, inicialmente realizou-se a impregnação do material produzido pelos sujeitos da pesquisa, para então proceder com a unitarização, a construção de categorias analíticas e a escrita de metatextos. As problematizações realizadas no decorrer da dissertação foram apontando compreensões sobre a importância da formação docente no coletivo, constituída pelos estudos e diálogos vivenciados pelos sujeitos envolvidos; a compreensão das amarras do sistema societário que interferem no trabalho docente, salientando a necessidade dos professores resgatarem, enquanto categoria, sua capacidade de luta, seu sentido de união e coletividade no trabalho, fortalecendo suas representatividades através dos sindicatos; a compreensão da profissão docente como interpelada pelas relações humanas, ao entrelaçar a construção do conhecimento aos sentimentos como afetividade, respeito, alegria e esperança, envolvidos nesse processo, estão, nesse sentido, os professores constituindo sua humana docência. A partir das análises realizadas, compreender-se que as vivências de estudo e formação na Roda dos Sentidos, proporcionaram momentos de avanços teóricos, realizados a partir de diálogos sobre o trabalho e o trabalho docente, potencializados pelos registros escritos e compartilhados nos encontros da Roda, possíveis a partir da construção do sentido de coletividade, compreendendo-se, assim, a importância dos elos afetivos na constituição docente.

Inteligência coletiva e gestão do conhecimento: uma aplicação na rede social Facebook

Social networks rely on concepts such as collaboration, cooperation, replication, flow, speed, interaction, engagement, and aim the continuous sharing and resharing of information in support of the permanent social interaction. Facebook, the largest social network in the world, reached, in May 2016, the mark of 1.09 billion active users daily, draining 161.7 million hours of users’ attention to the website every day. These users share 4.75 billion units of content daily. The research presented in this dissertation aims to investigate the management of knowledge and collective intelligence, from the introduction of mechanisms that aim to enable users to manage and organize current information in the feeds from Facebook groups in which they participate, turning Facebook into a collective knowledge and information management device that goes far beyond mere interaction and communication among people. The adoption of Design Science Research methodology is intended to instill the "genes" of collective intelligence, as presented in the literature, in the computational artifact being developed, so that intelligence can be managed and used to create even more knowledge and intelligence to and by the group. The main theoretical contribution of this dissertation is to discuss knowledge management and collective intelligence in a complementary and integrated manner, showing how efforts to obtain one also contribute to leveraging the other.

Atuação e desempenho do Ministério Público do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte no contexto da gestão pública: perspectiva estratégica

The present dissertation analyzes the performance and acting of the Rio Grande do Norte Public Ministery, in the strategic perspective, while responsible Institution for the defense of the collective rights. The comprehension of this theme inserts in a context of modernization of the public administration, in which is inserted, as well as their functional and structural changes, in a reality of innovations there is passing the organizations, looking to rescue the legitimacy of the government organizations, aligning them to the democratic values of the society. It detaches the strategic administration and the public administration and it exposes the strategic performance about the central point of the study, focusing in the development of the organization in the last four years, and other relative subjects to the acting. It is a unic case study, framed in the characteristics of the qualitative approaches - descriptive and exploratory. The analysis showed, through the method of content analysis, by the criterion of thematic categorization, that MP / RN come developing in an intense way,and it detaches that the changes already happened reflect a good strategic acting of the Institution, especially in the structural and functional areas, showing the strategic conscience of this, although that is not still enough to consider it as a strategic organization, and it concludes that there is still a lot for doing, and that the occurrence of an administration typically strategic in the extent of MP/RN is possible, with the conscience and participation of all, members and servants

Contributo para o estudo da relação pedagógica no ensino superior: a relação professor-aluno

Sede privilegiada das ações de investigação conducentes à produção do saber, a universidade atual vê-se confrontada com um número cada vez mais elevado de discentes, cujo principal objetivo não será propriamente a capacitação para a produção do conhecimento, mas apenas a procura de uma informação, cada vez mais indispensável à sua participação nos projetos coletivos de sociedade e individual da realização pessoal e profissional. Nesta comunicação, são apresentados alguns resultados, ainda que parciais, de uma investigação que se fez, no âmbito do Curso de Mestrado em Ciências da Educação, sendo o objeto do estudo, a população estudantil do 1º ano dos cursos de licenciatura da Universidade de Évora, tentando, desta forma, aproximar a investigação e a docência.

Okupar, resistir, insistir : uma etnografia das práticas de ocupação urbana Fortaleza / Ceará

The objective of this dissertation is understand the relationships built between subjects who occupy buildings in a state of abandonment to revitalize them - called okupas, noting which individuals construct such meanings on the practice of occupation and how to organize the construction and maintenance of a collective life project. Having the Okupa Squat Torém, located in the neighborhood of Fatima in the southern city of Fortaleza-CE, as locus and observed through the ethnographic method, followed the social practices of urban segment. I invested in a data collection revealed that the custom of okupas and their domestic habits, inside and outside of okupa, emphasizing the interaction situations, like most appropriate occasions to observe the constant negotiation and refinement of his cunning to intervene in the city . Among the objectives of this research, the main thing is to observe which senses are assigned to the practice of the occupation by okupas. For this, reflecting from the specifics of this urban phenomenon and talking mostly with the tradition of research in the field of anthropology, I tried to address some issues regarding the practice of okupação and organization of the group, which the principles and movements that make these contacts with city etc. The appropriation made by the subjects on the urban space here means understanding them as a cultural expression of a number of collective values, resulting from experience and perception of okupas like themselves. The intention is to show how this practice intervention and collective action has appeared in contemporary times and how my ethnography can contribute to a dialogue on the practices of mobilization and update of the city, considering the Theory of Recognition Axel Honneth (2003) as an analytical category useful to describe the forms of reciprocity experienced by okupas

Espirito de catimbo: a moral magico-religiosa da jurema

This participative research interested in the social praxis attempts to understand the moral principles that set the magic rituals and the places of worship of three jurema centers of the potiguar region of Canguaretama. Among other inner particularly aspects of each focused catimbó-jurema center, it is being discussed the collective standards involved in the reliance and fellowship values assumed in the private magical gatherings by the juremeiras leaders and their partners, in contrast to the prestige seeking and the individualism that influence both the symbolic competitions and the witchcraft works that link these agents to the broader catimbozeiro universe of this region. Finally, the moral practices which make part of the juremeiro left-right dualism are investigated based on the understanding that the referred native pantheonic-ritual dichotomy does not necessarily express two moralities substantially adversed in terms of benefits or harms, but a series of moral actions subject to the specular logic of the tit-for tat. Thus, this research seeks to prove that this moral structure of symbolic reciprocity, as well as the witchcraft centrality in the catimbozeiro world, finds a certain causal link in a world view which guiding principle is the ontological evil of the catholic cosmology

Educação e planejamento ambiental - Conscientização para subsidiar o realinhamento do processo de implementação da produção integrada de morangos.

Desde 2006 a Embrapa Meio Ambiente, em parceria com a Prefeitura da Estância de Atibaia e com a Associação de Produtores de Morango e Hortifrutigranjeiros de Atibaia, Jarinu e Região, visa assistir à implementação da Produção Integrada de Morango (PIMo) como alternativa de aprimoramento de aspectos relacionados à segurança do alimento e ao meio ambiente. Sempre respeitando as funções sociais das entidades envolvidas, seus esforços são direcionados a validar a Norma Técnica Específica da PIMo (BRASIL, 2008), reduzir o êxodo rural e profissionalizar os produtores na adoção de boas práticas agrícolas e ambientais, fundamentadas na organização dos mesmos, como estratégia de implementação de procedimentos sustentáveis. Para atingir tais objetivos, a educação ambiental foi e vem sendo indispensável para a conscientização e tomada de decisão dos produtores, cujo poder de realização é obtido pelo planejamento e pela gestão participativa, supervisionados por especialistas, que garante o realinhamento do propósito de instrumentalizar o grupo para a obtenção de certificação. Este trabalho que apresenta um dos resultados obtidos pelo Projeto PIMo em Atibaia, Jarinu e Valinhos/SP, coordenado pela Embrapa Meio Ambiente, num contínuo e gradativo processo de conscientização, Visa demonstrar a contribuição da etapa de atualização das informações e questões que devem subsidiar o planejamento anual e o redirecionamento dos esforços individuais e coletivos, assim como a atitude do grupo de produtores perante seus parceiros.

Compromisso, motivação e identidade atlética como variáveis preditivas do consumo de desporto

O objetivo deste estudo foi examinar a relação entre a motivação, o compromisso desportivo e a identidade atlética e três tipos de comportamentos de consumo de desporto: frequência de participação, consumo de artigos de desporto e consumo de media. Foi aplicado um questionário a praticantes de desportos individuais e coletivos, de fitness e de prática informal (n = 900). O questionário incluíu questões relacionadas com informações sociodemográficas, com a motivação, o compromisso desportivo, a identidade atlética e com o comportamento de consumo de desporto. Para analisar os dados utilizámos modelos de equações estruturais, testes de comparação (ANOVA). Os resultados mais relevantes foram os obtidos a partir de um modelo de equações estruturais onde foram fornecidas evidências de que o compromisso desportivo tem uma influência positiva sobre a frequência de participação, sobre o consumo de artigos de desporto e dos media. Também a motivação e a identidade atlética tem uma influência sobre os diferentes tipos de consumo de desporto, estudados nesta investigação. As implicações destes resultados são discutidas e sugestões para futuras pesquisas sobre praticantes de desporto são fornecidas.

Ribeira, técnica versus natureza: transformações em prol de um projeto de modernização (1860-1932)

The necessity of the insertion of the capital of Rio Grande do Norte in the world-wide commercial scene and its claim as the seat of political power, in ends of nineteenth and beginning of twentieth century, determined the direction of urban interventions undertaken by government to restructure the city. In that matter, there were several actions of improvements and embellishment in Natal, which had, as a starting point, the adequacy works of the port, located in the Ribeira quarter, with the aim of ending the physical isolation that reinforced its economic stagnation. Besides the problems faced in the opening bar of the Potengi River, and would complement the required improvements, other barriers demonstrate the tension established between the physic-geographic field and the man: the flooded and slope which connected Cidade Alta and Ribeira the first two quarters of the city.The execution of these works demanded knowledge whose domain and application it was for engineering. But, how the actions done for the engineers, in sense to transform natural areas into constructed spaces made possible the intentional conformation of the quarter of the Ribeira in a commercial and politician-administrative center, in the middle of the XIX century and beginning of the XX? Understand, therefore, the employment effects of technology on the physical-geographical Ribeira, is the objective of this work that uses theoretical and methodological procedures of Urban Environmental History, by analyzing the relationship between the environment and the man, mediated by knowledge and use of technologies. The documental research was used, as primary sources, the Messages of the Provincial Assembly Government that later became the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Norte reports and articles on specialized publications, in addition to local newspapers. The work is structured in five chapters. First, some comments about Urban Environmental History (Chapter 1) supplemented with analysis of the conceptual construction of nature in the Contemporary Era and its application in the city (chapter 02), the following chapters (03 and 04) deal with the rise of engineers as a active group in the Brazilian government frameworks and their vision about the nature inside the urban environment and it is studied how the professional technicians dealt with the improvement work of the harbor and in the shock with the natural forces. Other works that would complement this "project" of modernization and had had natural obstacles to be removed the Ribeira flood and slope constitute the subject of the fifth chapter. Finally, some final considerations retake the initial discussions aiming an association between the technique and the nature as junction elements inside the process of constitution of a Modern Natal

Primeiras aproximações de uma análise do financiamento da política nacional de esporte e lazer no Governo Lula

Este artigo realiza uma análise introdutória sobre o gasto público referente às políticas de esporte e lazer no Governo Lula. Os dados coletados apresentaram uma distribuição instável entre os programas, o que impede o estabelecimento de um padrão de financiamento para o esporte e lazer durante o período analisado (2003-2010), bem como de afirmar a existência de programas e/ou frações de classes hegemônicas no que tange aos gastos públicos do setor. Todavia, algumas particularidades indicam a razoabilidade do pressuposto sobre a priorização do esporte de alto rendimento dentro da alocação dos recursos públicos destinados ao financiamento da Política Nacional de Esporte e Lazer (PNEL) do Governo Lula. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

Pesquisas genéticas, prognósticos morais e discriminação genética : um estudo de caso sobre traço falciforme

O debate sobre ética em pesquisa pode ser aplicado tanto ao âmbito da metodologia científica como a outras áreas do saber, como é o caso dos esportes. No campo da saúde esportiva brasileira, têm sido comuns pesquisas que fazem testes genéticos para identificar atletas com traço falciforme. Apesar da persistência de confederações esportivas brasileiras em discriminar atletas com essa característica hereditária, o traço falciforme não é uma doença. Este artigo relata o caso de uma atleta de futebol vítima de discriminação genética: identificada com o traço falciforme, ela foi considerada inapta a participar de um campeonato pela Confederação Brasileira de Futebol. O artigo analisa as repercussões da pesquisa genética para identificação do traço falciforme na ausência de cuidados éticos voltados à preservação dos direitos de quem se submete aos testes. Além disso, mostra a situação de vulnerabilidade à qual estão expostas pessoas envolvidas em pesquisas que fazem testes genéticos sem cuidados éticos ou mesmo justificativas razoáveis e cujos resultados são interpretados sob a racionalidade do determinismo biológico e do reducionismo genético. As confederações esportivas brasileiras interessadas em identificar atletas com o traço falciforme deveriam submeter esse objetivo de estudo à avaliação de Comitês de Ética em Pesquisa, pois esse é um procedimento com potencial de acarretar prejuízos aos atletas. O teste genético não pode ser considerado um ato de assistência em saúde, visto que não há doença a ser tratada. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
