Desempenho fisiológico e superação de dormência em sementes de Brachiaria brizantha submetidas a tratamento químico e envelhecimento artificial

The use of seeds of B. brizantha has increased, however, the physiological quality of seeds available to the producer is still a limiting factor for a good performance culture. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects caused by chemical scarification, different periods of aging and priming on physiological quality and overcoming seed dormancy B. brizantha cv. MG-5 Victory. The seeds were subjected to chemical scarification-H2SO4 ( presence and absence), artificial aging periods ( zero, 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144 and 168 hours) at 41 degrees C and priming using the 0,2 KNO3 % ( presence and absence) for two hours at 25 degrees C, creating a completely randomized design in factorial 2x8x2, with four repetitions. The seeds were evaluated by testing germination and vigor. Chemical scarification is an effective method for breaking dormancy, but decreases the physiological seed. Overcoming seed dormancy B. brizantha occurs with the use of artificial aging for non-scarified and scarified seeds. Priming generally has no effect on the physiological quality and overcoming seed dormancy B. brizantha, however, it provides less loss of cellular constituents.

Via Silva percurso cultural e midiateca José Antônio da Silva são José do Rio Preto - SP

Com base nos estudos das obras pictóricas e literárias do artista José Antônio da Silva, bem como de alguns lugares que marcaram sua história na cidade de São José do Rio Preto, foram identificados alguns pontos importantes que nos ajudam a compreender melhor a representatividade da figura desse artista para a cidade, principalmente em uma época de importantes mudanças socioeconômicas, no que diz respeito à modernidade “imposta” a partir da década de 1950. Os principais pontos identificados se concentram ao longo de um eixo, denominado no trabalho como Via Silva. A proposta do trabalho é conectar esses pontos, por meio de um percurso cultural urbano, transformando-os em paradas. O objetivo desse percurso, além de exibir a produção artística de José Antônio da Silva, é fazer ver, por meio da conexão física e simbólica entre esses pontos, a memória dos elementos formadores da cultura local, que por muito tempo e até hoje insistem em ser apagados ou esquecidos pela sociedade riopretense. Ou seja, é construir uma memória em movimento através de um percurso com paradas em lugares que dialogam com a pintura de Silva e com sua marcante passagem pela cidade - principalmente em uma época em que a cultura caipira se manifestava de maneira mais forte. Dentro desse percurso é proposto, além de intervenções e/ou diretrizes para cada ponto, o projeto da Midiateca José Antônio da Silva

Bioenergia: desenvolvimento, pesquisa e inovação

Com 27 trabalhos produzidos por pesquisadores do Instituto de Pesquisa em Bioenergia (Bioen), da Unesp, este livro oferece uma ampla visão sobre as áreas que compõem o segmento. Seu principal objetivo é contribuir para melhorar a compreensão dos vários aspectos da bioenergia, em especial no Brasil, que figura entre os países com maior nível de desenvolvimento tecnológico no setor. Estudo dos problemas urbanísticos do Elevado Presidente Costa e Silva - SP

This work dealt with the main urban problems Elevated President Costa e Silva, who is the main target of São Paulo's urban criticism. Several factors that are directly related to the presence of the High Expressway in the city, as its road importance, for example were also analyzed. This article presents the results of research on the Hall-School installed in the Juqueri Hospital, São Paulo, in 1929, by initiative of the psychiatrist Antonio Carlos Pacheco e Silva, and organized by the pediatrician Vicente Baptista da Silva and professors Norberto de Souza Pinto and Celso Guimarães da Fonseca. It is regarded as a real pioneer project for the development of Special Education and of Psychology, formerly named as for the abnormals. One can neatly perceive the change in the treatment of a medical origin only to that of an inclusion of Psychology and Education in the development of children affected by mental deficiency or by psychopathies. The influence of the ideas of educators, such as the ones mentioned above, were fundamental for the changes.

Ignacio de Assis Silva e os estudos literários

This paper aims to honor the semiotician Ignacio Assis Silva printed by the intensity in all his activities, emphasizing mainly on the accuracy insightful essays, which made him not only one of the most important promoters of semiotics greimasian in Brazil, but one of those responsible for its development. It should be noted also that he served with dedication in the Postgraduate Program in Literary Studies FCL/Araraquara UNESP, including efforts since its founding. The program owes much to him and others of FCL semioticians for the healthy integration between programs, Linguistics/Portuguese Language and Literary Studies. The latter was even initially, a literature program focusing on semiotics greimasian. Join together with all his persistent interest in building a "theory of language", which deeply and tenaciously pursued in their classes and in their texts and can be detected in Figurativização e metamorfose: o mito de Narciso (1995).

This text, homage to Ignacio Assis Silva, looks for the founding theoretical conceptions of his thoughts. When I looked at his texts, from the 70’s to the 90’s, my reading went through the path of an author who is always worried about revealing the birthplace of meaning. To catch this unique moment of semiosis, Silva proposes the concept of metamorphosis, a key-term which allows us to unite the two ends of his formation: Historical Grammar and Semiotic

Filling of simulated lateral canals with gutta percha or resilon when using thermomechanical compaction

Aims: To evaluate the filling of simulated lateral canals with gutta-percha or Resilon when using thermomechanical compaction. Setting and Design: Forty-five human single-rooted teeth were subjected to tooth decalcification and clearing. Materials and Methods: After root canal preparation, artificial lateral canals were made at 2, 5, and 8 mm from the working length (WL), corresponding to the apical, middle, and cervical thirds, respectively. The specimens were divided (n = 15) according to the filling material: Dentsply gutta-percha (GD), Odous gutta-percha (GO), and Resilon cones (RE). Root canals were obturated by thermomechanical compaction using a #45 compactor and no sealer. Lateral canals were analyzed by digital radiography and digital images after tooth decalcification and clearing using the Image Tool software. Statistical Analysis Used: Data were subjected to the Kruskal-Wallis and Dunn tests at 5% significance. Results: In the coronal third, RE and GO presented more filling ability than GD (P < 0.05). In the middle and apical thirds, RE presented the best results. Conclusions: Resilon demonstrated filling ability as material for root canal obturation by using thermomechanical compaction.
