Sustainability is the ability of human beings interact with the world, preserving the environment to not compromise the natural resources of future generations. This is the main goal of Green Chemistry, which is based on twelve basic principles. One of its branches, the Green Analytical Chemistry, apply these principles in their techniques, such as Green Chromatography. Mapeamento dos compartimentos de relevo do município de Estrela do Norte-SP e adjacências

The Geomorphology is to study the relevant object, which is the substrate where there are social relations, where society draws the natural resources for their survival and structure its immediate surroundings. In this context, the geomorphological map is currently considered as an important tool in landscape research. The landscapes of the city of Estrela do Norte-SP and surroundings consist mostly of geological substratum of sedimentary rock formations of Adamantina and Santo Anastácio (IPT, 1981a). Geomorphologically dominated by large reliefs of gently rolling hills tops and pedologicamente, the Oxisols and Ultisols Red-Yellow (Oliveira et al., 1999), which historically without proper management, formed a serious degradation of erosive framework in the study area. Thus, this study aimed to produce a map of the major compartments of the municipality Estrela do Norte-SP and surrounding areas, using techniques of digital stereoscopy. Manejo da fertirrigação e salinidade do solo no crescimento da cultura da beterraba

With the increase in world population and scarcity of natural resources, efficient use of fertilizers becomes necessary for intensive agriculture. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Department of Agricultural Engineering, UNESP in Botucatu-SP. The treatments were derived from the combination of the soil salinity (E.C: 1.0, 3.0, 6.0, 9.0 and 12.0 dS m-1), Fertigation management (M1 =traditional and M2 = with control of the ionic concentration of the soil solution) and beet cultivars (C1= Early Wonder and C2 = Itapuã) in a 5x2x2 factorial design with four replications in a randomized block design. Throughout the cultivation, the following variables were evaluated: height, stem diameter, length and diameter of plant roots. The height of the plant presented differently according to the Fertigation management and sensitive to levels of electrical conductivity in the soil. The diameter of the roots showed reductions of 3.55 and 2.48 mm for C1 and C2, respectively, every unit increase in electrical conductivity (EC) to M1. Based on the functional relationship of the best adjustment between the diameter of the roots and electrical conductivity in M2 gave an estimated maximum diameter of 90.78 mm to 94.67 mm for C1 and C2.

As barreiras comerciais e o meio ambiente: o comércio brasileiro com a América do Norte e União Europeia diante de notificações ambientais

Os movimentos conservacionistas, desde a década de 80, impulsionam a predileção por produtos cujos fabricantes visam à sustentabilidade, ou seja, à degradação mínima do meio ambiente na produção e no consumo da sociedade atual, de modo a não comprometer os recursos naturais para as gerações futuras. Essa tendência fez países, a início os desenvolvidos, criarem regras, regulamentos ou normas de produção visando à preservação ambiental, a serem seguidas na produção por outros países com quem desejam estabelecer comércio. O que pode se configurar, principalmente para os países em desenvolvimento, uma barreira comercial - geralmente não tarifária - difícil de transpassar. O Brasil, como país em desenvolvimento e grande fornecedor de produtos primários para o exterior, enfrenta frequentemente essas barreiras comerciais com propósitos ambientais, muitas vezes de forma não planejada. Isso provoca, especialmente em pequenas e médias empresas, um aumento dos custos de produção e dificuldades de competir no mercado internacional. Este trabalho procura expor os principais produtos que sofrem notificações ambientais, mais especificamente dos Acordos SPS e TBT, e estabelecer uma relação entre essas notificações e a pauta exportadora brasileira durante o período de 1997 a 2014

The central thesis that we aim to survey in this paper is that the present South-American political scene has required of the American imperialism a strategical redesign, in the sense of the neutralization, weakening and, if it is possible, destruction of regional political experiences/tendencies not aligned to its foreign politics. Under the mask of the defense of democracy and beneath the argument that Latin American "market oriented politics" are at stake, due to questions that goes back from the "delin-quency" —in Mexico—, the global terrorism, the organized international crime up to the worldwide drug traffic, the global strategy of American imperialism then sets up the definition of a new doctrine of preventive war that justifies the utilization of hard power against any country, in the name of its own defense. At the heart of the question what —actually— is in the agenda is the defense (and reproduction) of the benefits of its multinationals corporations and financial capital, by means of the international sub-traction of profitable assets, such as financial, energetic, communicational and natural resources, in addition to the domination of local markets, beyond facilitating capital flee amongst others.
