Impulsivity based on Gray's [Gray, J. A. (1982) The neuropsychology of anxiety: an enquiry into the function of the septo-hippocampal system. New York: Oxford University Press: (1991). The neurophysiology of temperament. In J. Strelau & A. Angleitner. Explorations in temperament: international perspectives on theory and measurement. London. Plenum Press]. physiological model of personality was hypothesised to be more predictive of goal oriented criteria within the workplace than scales derived From Eysenck's [Eysenck. H.J. (1967). The biological basis of personality. Springfield, IL: Charles C. Thompson.] physiological model of personality. Results confirmed the hypothesis and also showed that Gray's scale of Impulsivity was generally a better predictor than attributional style and interest in money. Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) encephalitis has been reported rarely in the context of solid-organ and bone-marrow transplantation [1]. We report a case of a renal transplant recipient who developed EBV encephalitis following OKT3 therapy for acute allograft rejection. The diagnosis was expedited by the detection of EBV DNA in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) by nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Moreover, clinical recovery and clearance of CSF EBV DNA appeared to follow the institution of parenteral ganciclovir treatment.

In recent years qualitative research methods have been adopted within in the field of music education and have received widespread acceptance. However, the theoretical framework provided by ethnomethodology (Garfinkel, 1974, in R. Turner, Ethnomethodology , Penguin, Middlesex, UK) and the tools of conversational analysis (Sacks, 1992, Lectures on Conversation , edited by Gail Jefferson, Blackwell, Oxford, UK) have, to this point, been overlooked by researchers in the field of music education. In this paper I argue that the application of ethnomethodological and conversation analytical approaches in the field of research in music education can provide fresh insights into the work of music teachers and how this work is accomplished in institutional settings. Here I demonstrate how a conversation analytical perspective drawing on an ethnomethodological framework might be used to investigate transcripts of audio-recorded interview talk. This type of analysis can illuminate aspects of members' roles in relation to, and perceptions about music education in school settings that might be overlooked in other types of analysis. A conversation analytical approach to the examination of talk-in-interaction explicates in fine-grained detail how members orient to matters at hand in the context of research settings, as well as revealing features of the cultural world of music teaching. Further application of the approach to research problems in other school settings, I argue, will inform the field of music education in ways yet to be realised.

Events during perinatal and early life may influence the incidence of breast cancer in adult life, and some case-control studies suggest that having been breastfed may reduce breast cancer risk. The authors studied this association among premenopausal and postmenopausal women by using data from the two Nurses' Health Studies, the Nurses' Health Study (using data from 1992 to 1996) and the Nurses' Health Study II (using data from 1991 to 1997). A history of being breastfed was self-reported by the study participants. During a total of 695,655 person-years, 1,073 cases of invasive breast cancer were diagnosed. The authors did not observe any important overall association between having been breastfed and the development of breast cancer later in life among premenopausal women (covariate-adjusted relative risk = 0.97, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.78, 1.20) or postmenopausal women (covariate-adjusted relative risk = 1.12, 95% CI: 0.92, 1.37). No significant trend was observed with increasing duration of breastfeeding. The authors also used data on breastfeeding retrospectively collected from 2,103 mothers of participants of the two Nurses' Health Studies. With the mothers' reports, the covariate-adjusted odds ratio of breast cancer was 1.11 (95% CI: 0.88, 1.39) for women who were breastfed compared with those who were not. Data from these two large cohorts do not support the hypothesis that being breastfed confers protection against subsequent breast cancer.

Treatment of human cancers with an inherent antigen-processing defect due to a loss of peptide transporters (TAP-1 and TAP-2) and/or MHC class I antigen expression remains a considerable challenge. There is now an increasing realization that tumor cells with down-regulated expression of TAP and/or MHC class I antigens display strong resistance to cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL)mediated immune control, and often fail to respond to the conventional immunotherapeutic protocols based on active immunization with tumor-associated epitopes (TAE) or adoptive transfer of tumor-specific T cells, In the present study, we describe a novel approach based on immunization with either genetically modified tumor cells or naked DNA vectors encoding TAE fused to an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) signal sequence (ER-TAE) which affords protection against challenge by melanoma cells with down-regulated expression of TAP-1/2 and MHC class I antigens. In contrast, animals immunized with a vaccine based on TAE alone showed no protection against tumor challenge. Although MHC-peptide tetramer analysis showed a similar frequency of antigen-specific CTL in both ER-TAE- and TAE-immunized mice, functional analysis revealed that CTL activated following immunization with ER-TAE displayed significantly higher avidity for TAE when compared to animals immunized with the TAE alone, These observations provide a new strategy in anti-cancer vaccine design that allows activation of a highly effective and well-defined CTL response against tumors with down-regulated expression of TAP and MHC class I antigens.
